About the property

Chalet, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, 8 Sleeps

Sit back and relax with family in this spacious home in Lake Placid

for your next vacation. Or, use it as a home base as you train for

the Ironman. Or, rejuvenate yourself in front of the fireplace after

a day on the ski slopes. All things are possible in this unique

chalet in Lake Placid.

Located on a quiet residential road on 1 acre of property, you have

complete privacy and at times it seems as though you're all alone in

the Adirondacks. Sit out on the front deck for cocktails and enjoy

the view facing west. West facing means that you have a mountain

view and the sunset. Combine the two with the sun setting behind the

mountains and it makes for an incredible mountain experience.

Speaking of the view, the house sits about 30' above the road grade,

giving you unobstructed views of the mountains from the deck -

no houses to impede your view - try that with a rental condominium.

The fireplace is gas, and operated by remote control. No more

fiddling with wood or matches. Simply press and button, control the

level of the flame you want and voila! Instant romance.

Rain? Don't worry - if you don't like the weather in the mountains,

wait ten minutes. But even if the weather doesn't improve after the

wait, you're in a spacious house. You can all spread out and even

seek privacy in the bedrooms. There are plenty of books and games

on-site, and if multi-media is more your style, Radio, CD, TV, and

DVD are all at your beckoning.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities to create all

your meals. Chances are you'll try some of Lake Placid's dining

establishment, and I have created my own dining guide that I send to

all renters upon booking. It has some personal experiences from

someone who has spent time trying out the good, the bad, and

the 'ugly'.

Little details

  • 4 of 5

I always hesitate to write reviews, guess it's not in my nature to criticize but in this case I feel obligated. It would be so easy to correct. First of all let me say that my dealings with the owner over the phone were great. Ms. Tutaj was very helpful. It's simply the small details that prevent me from giving this a five-star rating. A lack of toilet paper in all three bathrooms felt unusual seeing I'd never experienced this with other VRBO rentals. The kitchen was missing out of a cutting board unless we were expected to cut on the beautiful granite counter. And therefore it caused for all cutting knives to be dull. But otherwise a beautiful home that was great to spend time in after our hike up Whiteface Mtn.

Clean and great location!

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here for the Ironman and the cabin was great! It was clean and in a great location. The Kitchen had everything you needed. The only complaint I have is the beds are not actually 3 queens. Two of the Queens are actually Full's, a little tight for 2 people to sleep on, especially after doing an Ironman. The master bedroom upstairs is a queen but the others are much smaller.

I rented this home for New Years. I contacted the renter and she gave me more information than I had asked her for. Very detail oriented. She was always available for questions in the weeks leading up to my stay.

The house was gorgeous. It was perfectly clean. Although I did not need to use all of them, There were more than enough extra linens. The essentials that you may forget while packing were all there for the taking just in case. I felt like I was at a hotel but better.

The drive into town was not even five minutes. If we needed more food there was a price chopper right down the road. The location couldn't have been better.

I highly recommend staying at this house. Not just because it was a great home but also because the renter was so helpful and readily available for any questions I had.

I would absolutely stay there again and recommend to a friend.

Exceeded my expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter travelled from Australia to do her first ever Ironman. The rest of the family lives in Upstate New York. Its listed as a 2&1/2 bath, its actually 3 bath. The home is completely updated on the interior. The photos do not show just how lovely it is!! Its convenient to the Park & Ride that the Ironman provides for this event. If your family is considering an Ironman event, this is the place to stay!! Convenient to supermarkets. My security deposit was received within 3 days of when I arrived home.

Just perfect!! You truly set the bar for any other vacation rental that I may ever need.

best getaway ever!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing! Everything was absolutely perfect! The heated locker area was super comfortable and convenient. The chalet was cozy ,super clean, well stocked and really just perfect in every way. The kids loved the library area and running around the backyard.I enjoyed the free internet, comfy couches and fireplace. Located close to everything. We went for a dog sled ride in town, hit some shops but I must say I was blown away with the 4 man Bobsled competition! Really the perfect little getaway a little dream home away from home!!!
