We stayed at this villa for almost 6 weeks, from January 31 to March 11, 2017, and enjoyed almost every minute. It was clean and very comfortable and the owner was very attentive to the couple of issues that arose. And we cannot say enough about the Desert Princess.
A couple of things need to be attended to:
The sliding glass doors (especially those in the living leading to the patios and dining area (the former is visible in the picture, the latter is just out-of-sight to the right): the blinds on the door to the patios worked but were difficult to work and need attention. The screen was off its track (and I could not get it back on), so we could not use it and were forced to keep the door closed. The blinds on the door leading to the grill are not working and need to be fixed and the screen for that door needs some attention. Finally, both doors are heavy and required quite a bit of effort to slide - an issue that can be addressed by thoroughly cleaning and then thoroughly lubricating the undersides of the doors and the tracks.
The gas grill is, well, not the best. It is small, which was OK for us, since it was just the two of us. It has one setting - high, but the flames were uneven so I was able to find a "cooler" spot on the grill so that I could cook steaks (one of our staples) at a slower rate. And lighting it was an adventure.
The ice maker in the fridge doesn't work so we used bagged ice. A bit of an inconvenience for those who like an evening cocktail.
These issues, in my view, were a small trade for a great place at a great rate and, if our schedule for next year is about what it was for 2017, we likely will try to rent this property again.
This house is located in Desert Princess Country Club which is comprised of three 9 hole courses that are put together in combination for 18 holes. The property itself is conveniently located and was fairly priced but it shows its age, reflecting the architectural style of the 80s. We wondered whether it has ever been upgraded save for a very good Viking stove and a great Wifi signal. Despite the number of windows, the interior space is poorly lit and little things like burnt out light bulbs in the living room and master bath did not help. (Without prompting, we found some replacement bulbs but they too were burnt out.) To be fair, we spent the majority of our days playing golf so these defects were minor. That said, I would not choose this property for a repeat visit. And if you intend to spend a lot of hours in the house itself, you can do better.
Our stay at the 2 bedroom detached house in Desert Princess was very pleasant. The pictures gave a good description of the unit. The master or larger bedroom had a very spacious area with a walk in closet, bath, and glassed walled shower. The second bedroom with en-suite was smaller with limited storage and "regular" smaller 3 piece bathroom. The kitchen had an eating area and washer drier behind closet doors and was relatively well outfitted for 4 people. We did have a problem with the phone when we arrived but Sonja had someone come in very quickly to fix the system.
The pool was a 3 block walk but very nice and relatively warm for swimming in February. There was a food store, Starbucks, and drug store close by--could walk to it if ambitious. Also, the bus that went by on Vista Chino went to the
Westfield shopping center and The College of the Desert without a transfer!
My wife and I spend a week-end it this wonderful place in April 2011. The house is just the right size for the perfect vacation in the Palm Springs area, not far from LA or places like the wonderful Joshua Tree National Park or Salton Sea. The rooms are light and feels friendly, and with a direct access to the golf course. The resort is, and feels secure and peaceful and is beautifully located only a few minutes from Palm Springs where you will find a vast collection of great restaurants or shopping opportunities. Of course - then there's the weather. The sun always seems to shine in Palm Springs.
Highly recommended by Anette & Brian
We had alot of fun here on our girls getaway.Lots of places to eat and shop really close to the house.
The property is beautiful and well kept. The owner is really nice and made it very easy to arrange everything.
We loved it! Will come back for sure. And we recommend it to our friends and family all the time.
I can only say good things about his vacation rental. With the property being very light and clean it makes you fell like you are at a spa resort. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms spacious and airy. We loved the flat screen TV's in all rooms. The property is right on the golf course with immaculate view of the mountains and in the later afternoon we really enjoyed sitting on the beautiful patio overlooking the scenery and the golfers playing right in front of us.What a threat. All together we really enjoyed staying at this property and would rent it again anytime.
