Near L'Anse aux Meadows Quoyles's House is a beautiful 100 year old traditional Newfoundland

ocean front where you are able to see whales, icebergs, moose and
other wildlidfe right at you doorstep. This incredible coastal
retreat, just minutes

everyday routine; relax, breathe the fresh air, wander the
hills, beaches and meadows, watch the sunrise, explore where the first
Europeans landed. 'For a moment I thought time had stopped'
Very authentic Newfoundland feel. Handmade Newfoundland furniture.
Annie Proulx the writer of 'The Shipping News' was the previous owner. She took ten years refurbishing the property.
Amazing view and location! The old historic house is warm and welcoming, feels like stepping back in time, but still feels and has all the amenities like home. It was clean and well maintained. Something captured my heart and gave me a real sense and feeling as to why Newfoundlanders always want to return home so bad. I now yearn to return and I'm a prairie girl! Quoyles house is located in a quiet little cove, has a small beautiful beach full of beach treasures and rocks to climb, kids of all ages could spend hours just exploring. It is also a great location to go kayaking from( wish I had the time to do it this trip). If your lucky you may see whales from the deck. The location is great as it is only a short drive to Lans Aux Meadows and about a 30 min drive to St.Anthony. Gina is great to deal with, easy to contact and the rate was reasonable. The Norseman restaurant has fabulous food, it is definitely a hidden gem, with wonderful gourmet meals! I highly recommend this rental and would have loved to have stayed longer. It's a great place for families, couples, adventure seekers and people of all ages. I'm sure it will capture your heart as it did mine and provide you with a true Newfoundland Experience!
I have to say that this house was one of the nicer places that we rented. It was everything that they advertised and more. We were just sorry that we didn't stay longer. There is so much to see and do...a week would have been better.
The owners have wonderful customer service and the house was very neat and clean. We would love to visit again and stay longer next time!
It's so worth the drive up the northern part of the island.
Thanks for everything and the great food in the restaurant! Fantastic leg to our 3 week adventure!
Very peaceful setting with a beach...the kids were happy hanging out on the property and finding treasures on the beach. The older restored home was so comfortable....it was such a great getaway...
We painted beach rocks, had campfires, and had beautiful views of the icebergs...The viking experience and boat tours were nearby as well. There are two houses that share the beach so it would be great to go with another family and rent both places!
The only thing I would note is that Cel service did not work from the house...which can be a good thing when having a holiday, however, we required it for work so that was a bit challenging...
I would highly recommend this property!!!
