We had a wonderful stay! Went down to see my dad. The beds were comfy. The room stayed cool and comfy. It was close to the beach, just a short drive(2 minutes tops to the public parking area off the main road). Parking was easy so we didn't have to haul our bags everywhere. Showers were great, never ran out of hot water (which was nice because I take long showers) It was just an overall wonderful stay. Will hopefully book again in the future!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

  • 3 of 5

The Good - Great location! Great price! Short walk to beach access and/or bay. Pool is steps away! Quiet & peaceful. Gulf Islands National Seashore, one of ten in the US is within walking distance and is absolutely gorgeous. 30 miles to west is Pensacola and 30 miles to the east is Destin...two great day trips to break up your vacation if you choose. Plenty area to walk and bike outside the front door, kayaking & fishing too! Gas grills in pool area were clean and easy to use.

The Bad - Only a handful of restaurants on the island and they really aren't that good. Logerheads at the pier has a great view and the food was acceptable but average. Juana's Pagodas has another great view but lunch was an embarrassing disappointment and an insult to anyone's palate. I do hear they have a good breakfast. We ended up eating off island and had great experiences every other place we ate. Several times we went to the Navarre Seafood Market and picked up steamed shrimp to eat on the beach and fresh grouper to fry at the condo...both superb! Beware - If you stay in the front few condos by the entrance to the facility you do not have access to one of the two pools, the fishing dock or the picnic pavilion on the bay...very misleading.

The Ugly - This unit is very dirty, VERY! A disgusting amount of dust on the fans, light fixtures, kitchen cabinets. Standing urine on the toilets and overall plain dirty. Tiles are broken and cracked on the floor, beware of walking barefoot, especially children (what do yo do when on vaca at the beach?, go barefoot). Cookware and glassware were dismal. The bed was very uncomfortable and the noisiest I've slept on in my entire 52 years. The TV in the living room has issues, noisy and it liked to freeze up...leave it off and avoid the hassle.

Overall a great island to vaca on, especially if you want laid back relaxation. The rental itself is in dire need of some TLC. A good cleaning, a few tiles fixed, new bed, TV and cookware and it would easily get a 5 star rating. I've stayed in cheaper rentals that were older but this is probably the dirtiest I've come across. I highly recommend Navarre Beach, we will be coming back.

However, spend a few more dollars on a rental (one of the condos closer to the bay, so you can have access to the fishing pier and pavilion. After a little more online research they seem nicer with more amenities) and forget the headaches...your vacation will thank you!

Great location and pool

  • 2 of 5

Location and pool were great. Very disheartening to see the structural damage in entryway/front door, master bedroom and master bath and broken tiles it has created.

The air conditioning wasn't working

  • 3 of 5

We only stayed the 1st night because the air conditioning wasn't working. Island View Reality moved us to a new unit. Other than that we would of loved it. Can't really rate it fsairly. But we were treated great and everything worked out great. Would use Island View Reality again

Excellent location, great condo

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful sunsets from the balcony, pool right outside unit, short walk or drive to the public parking lot/beach access. Beaches are practically empty down by this area of Navarre Beach and gorgeous! Beautiful, natural beaches with awesome photo opportunities if you walk west towards Pensacola! Yes, the unit has a few broken tiles, but who cares.....appliances were all fantastic and newer (dryer broke but they were super fast to fix it! Thank you!!) beds were comfy, unit extremely clean! We will be back!

Exactly what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect. The ocean on one side and bay on the other. Quiet streets, great pool and you get a really nice breeze off the ocean when sitting outside.

The apartment had everything we needed and was so much better than a hotel. I'm not sure what another guest said about coffee cups but we found plenty of glassware. While we chose not to spend all our time cooking it was really nice to bring home take out and be able to heat it up and put leftovers in the fridge for later.

Exceeded my expectations and found this place to be the perfect getaway. We will be back
