This was our first family vacation. We have 6 children (expecting our 7th) and flew from the Midwest. Everything was as described and great! Our children are 14, 13, 11, 9, 3, and 1 1/2. So 8 of us total and we fit wonderfully. This unit is close enough to the pool that we could let our older 4 swim and we could hear them, and they could hear us if we yelled for them! We did encounter a broken washing machine on the last day there but that is not the owner's issue. You do have to wash all bedding, towels, dishes and vacuum before leaving or you will be charged by the rental company. That did set us back on our last night there.. Other than that, it was a perfect location! We took the trolley down to Time Square every late afternoon, and we walked back every night. (I was 33/34 weeks pregnant and it was HOT but not a bad walk at all!) I also love how this spot on the beach is more private and not a lot of public beachers to crowd it! I highly recommend it and our family would love to go back to the same condo! Oh we also did not rent a car! You don't need one on the island!!
*FYI catch the trolley right in front of The Pink Shell! We didn't know that and had a lot of trouble the very first morning there*
Basic, not enough plates for 8 or a pot to cook for eight. The company was nice enough to let us check in early but time to close out, I could not get a solid answer if everything was left in order. I guess it was as I never heard from them. They expect you to wash everything except previous nights linen before you leave, including the dishes and towels...so keep that in mind. That is why I was worried as they said they would charge you if you did not. I always use my own sheets and towels but my friend did use some. So in a three day weekend we did have to cater time for washing. The beach stuff was old, the chairs were falling apart, my friend hurt her back as the whole back gave away. The toys for the kids were very handy, they enjoyed that. The kiddie pool was closed by the health department. Place is very clean, beach is beautiful and much closer than it looks. Everything is close by. Downtown had live entertainment and we got lots of shells, the conch type. It was not a bad experience. the sleep sofa is horrible, so better sleep on the couch. There is a king bed, 2 twin and the couch, not sure where 8 people would fit. The complete square footage is not for 8 full grown people...maybe 4 and two children.
