We had a wonderful time! Clean! And great Hosts!
The hosts were very accommodating! The house was gorgeous and in a nice area and easy to get to everything! I would definitely go back and stay again!
Clean and Comfy!
Having previously only stayed in Midtown hotels, this location was a bit out of our comfort zone. Upon arrival, however, that comfort zone immediately increased.
It's in a nice neighborhood and has several markets, restaurants, etc. not far away. Proximity to the subway station allowed us to sightsee all over Manhattan with ease.
The townhouse itself is spacious, clean, updated, and comfortable. We (my 2 adult children and I) much preferred it over a cramped hotel room. We also liked the modern decor and "vibe." The description of amenities is spot on and the whirlpool tub was wonderful after a long day of exploring NYC.
The owners are representative of what guests hope for. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in your stay being as comfortable as possible!
Clean, cozy, great neighborhood
This apartment is in the top two of the best places we've ever stayed. Very homey location, close to Starbucks, grocery, tons of restaurants, and only a couple of blocks from subway. We have 2 teenagers that were comfortable in the front room, and we very much enjoyed our stay. So much so, that there were two afternoons that we just hung out, watched TV and sat in. Will surely try to stay here again for future visits.
Clean, great location, great hosts!
This was the second time we stayed at Michelle and Yves property, and we were probably more impressed this time around, if that is possible. Maybe it was because NY wasn't as new to us this time and we could appreciate so much more of the information that our hosts provided. As we set out each day to explore, we knew we had a great home base to come back to. We enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and show recommendations, and managed to explore many of Manhattan's neighbourhoods given a solid sense of the workings of the transit system. We even had the opportunity to buy our own food and heat it in our own kitchen when we wanted to. Enjoying the morning coffee we made in our room allowed us time to discuss what we wanted to do that day, and at the end of the day, we visited with the couple we came with and enjoyed our wine as we heard about their adventures. We would recommend this place to friends travelling together, or people travelling alone, and yes, we would stay there again!
Perfect suite, perfect location, perfect hosts!
The Garden Apartment was not available, however, the host/hostess were gracious enough to accommodate us in a suite at the same location. We were truly fortunate to find this suite for our 5 day NYC trip. It was extremely comfortable and even better than advertised. It was perfect for 2!
The neighborhood was ideal, not just because of its proximity to the subway, but also because of the array of restaurants, bars, parks, grocery stores and attractions that were only blocks away. The host/hostess were kind enough to leave suggestion sheets, maps and even 2 pre-paid metro cards from the last tenants. They also helped us sort out the best means of transportation to/from the airport and to other major attractions. We enjoyed the privacy the immaculate suite and well-stocked shared kitchen offered, while at the same time, allowing the hosts to be available for questions, to chat about our day’s adventures and to offer suggestions for outings we had not considered.
The host and hostess went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and easy. We hope to return soon and stay longer! Thanks again Michele and Ives!
Spacious and comfortable townhouse!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful townhouse in the upper east side of Manhattan! The listing was right on target regarding the location and amenities. This was conveniently located in walking distance to the subway and Columbia University. It was a perfect place for our family with two teenage sons each having their own futon bed, and my wife and I enjoyed our big master bedroom down the hall. We couldn't believe how much space we had in a NYC apartment for such a reasonable price. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the amenities. Michele was an excellent hostess, meeting us at night when we arrived and giving us a plethora of great restaurant choices along with clear public transportation instructions. She made herself available by text if we needed anything. We only had one problem with the TV which she fixed as soon as we texted her about it.
The first night we ate dinner at a yummy Thai restaurant that she recommended on Broadway near Columbia, and there was a great little market right near the restaurant where we could buy breakfast items for the week. This was a great base of operations for us away from all the hustle and bustle of midtown and right near Central Park. Yet it was a quick subway to all the attractions we wanted to see. We bought a City Pass which was a great way to see the major sites like Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Empire State building, Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim and 911 memorial and save money. I hightly recommend it! It was cold and rainy for most of our trip, but it was great for us coming from Scottsdale. We did have some beautiful days when going to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. We saw two great Broadway shows, Curious Incident and Kinky Boots! One of the highlights of our trip was Scott's Pizza tour-very fun, interesting and amazing pizza! All in all, it was an awesome trip with a fantastic apt. rental through VRBO!
