What a great place to relax, very quiet place , great fishing!!! We look forward to visiting again soon !!!!
Super week at an ideal location
The cottage was quaint and had panoramic views of the salt marsh. Sunsets like I have never seen!
We felt peaceful and relaxed. We would return to this wonderful place of serenity.
Picturesque views, nightly fires overlooking the water, and nature watching equaled perfection!
From the moment we entered the house, the views took my breath away. We had a 17, 15, and 13 year old who utilized every activity the house provided from fishing to bike riding to playing the numerous games provided. The house was filled with everything we needed, brought back lobster a few times and enjoyed a clambake. Morning coffee on the backyard swing listening to the sounds of the numerous birds that flew by was so relaxing. We look forward to enjoying this extremely clean house with water views from every window. Perfect weather made the week even better, amazing vacation!
Lovely Spot on the Marsh
We couldn't agree more with all that earlier reviewers have said about this wonderful home and setting on the Scarborough marsh. The house is modern inside and very well stocked, and easily accommodated 3 generations of our family. The view of the river, the wildlife, the boating activity, and the constantly changing light and tides, is lovely both from the house and from the expansive back lawn. Our 4-year-old grandson loved sitting in the little rocking chair in front of the big plate glass windows while he watched the diving terns and snacked on dry cheerios! There is a canoe available onsite, and we made frequent use of the adjoining public boat ramp with our own dinghy, to explore the marsh at different tides. We tried several nearby restaurants for fresh seafood and they were all great. There are multiple beaches within easy access and we loved walking the sandbar at Pine Point at low tide. We will definitely return!
Great house for a family vacation
Our family of 7, ages 72 to 3 enjoyed our stay at this property. The beach house is older but well maintained, and has many great features such as a beautiful living room with picture windows overlooking Scarborough Marsh, a nice yard for kids, a fire pit and sits right next to Seavey's Landing, which gave us great access for kayaking. The bedrooms are not large but they are adequate and some have closets. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, silverware, cooking pots and pans, etc.-something often lacking in rentals. The owners have a shed with beach buckets, bikes and other extras. The only drawback is there is just one bathroom, but as we were on vacation this no a problem. The house is just 20 minutes from downtown Portland and less than 10 minutes drive to several nice Scarborough beaches. I would recommend this house to any family wanting a comfortable house to rent. Not fancy, but very well taken care of and has many pluses.
