Hi Jayne, We all had a fabulous time over New Year's at Long-point Beach Cabin. Although the weather was a little cool, the blue skies & sunny days were perfect. We saw some beautiful sunsets & it is always so relaxing to curl up by your big open fire place. Thanks Again for letting us use your wonderful cabin.

Perfect for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

I was pretty nervous as we headed out to Whidbey, after dragging my family from across the country, but the house couldn't have been more perfect! Right on the water, we were able to watch gorgeous sunrises, keep an eye on the herons, porpoises, and seals, and take in Mt Baker! I've never seen a more thoroughly outfitted kitchen (food processors, griddle, waffle iron, coffee grinder, crock pot, the list goes on!). Coupeville is a really cute little town with really friendly people. It was a quick drive from the house and we even walked into town one day. The arrangement of the house made it easy for all 7 of us to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. I'd recommend the house to anyone looking to host a crowd!

Beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

The beach house is in a perfect location. It's right on the water in a quiet, private community. We took long walks on the beach every day. The owner provides lots of water crafts and it's fun to paddle around!! She is great at communicating and really tries to provide you with a good experience. The deck has nice furniture for dining outside and there's a fire pit. There are lots of spices, utensils, pans, etc which makes it easy to cook without having to buy everything. Plenty of room with four bedrooms and the nice sized living room area. It's rustic and needs a little work (the flooring) but we overlooked it because of all the positives, and there are many!! We look forward to coming back next year. Thanks for sharing your house with us Jayne!

Not Quite What We Excpected

  • 2 of 5

We booked this house for a getaway with family. I want to begin with the outside. Absolutely gorgeous! The view was like a picture! Lots of birds and shells! The house came with many watercraft you can borrow to go out on the bay. We saw a ton of jellyfish! The outside deck was beautiful and the outdoor furniture looked brand new!

The inside of the house was a huge disappointment. When we arrived we noticed several spiderwebs all over. It would have been easy to clean this.....as a matter of fact, we did. The house could use a deep cleaning. Dirt in the corners, old cracked soap in the sink. I just feel for the price we paid, new bar soap could have been provided as well as toilet paper....which we ran out of! There was a smell of mildew-dust-mold throughout the house, which I understand being by the beach but it was a bit overwhelming. It caused allergy issues for all of us especially me since I have asthma.

We took several pictures but we are unable to show them on this review.

So, depending what you're looking for, this place is ideal for outside play but lacking in maintenance for the house itself.

Owner's Response: I am sad to hear your stay was not what you expected. I, in no way doubt this happened, but I am surprised. We had just recently stocked the cabin with paper towels, toilet paper (24 rolls), etc... so I am surprised to hear this. Some rentals allocate a certain number of supplies per renter and we do not run our rental that way. We hope that everyone is able to enjoy Whidbey as we do; so I am sorry that did not happen for you. Thanks, Jayne

Perfect beach cabin.

  • 5 of 5

A perfect beach cabin! Rustic and cozy. Everything we needed seemed to be available. Beautiful views from sunrise to dark. Birds galore. We spent most of our time on the big back deck just enjoying the view. We hope to return! Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The birds are pretty amazing when you can see seagulls and blue herons, next to the bald eagles. We occasionally see hummingbirds too. We are glad you had fun and look forward to your return!

Perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

How lucky these landlocked Coloradans were to spend a few days in this wonderful place. We even extended our stay by a day! The kids loved playing on the beach. We enjoyed using all of the watercraft and just sitting on the deck and admiring the view. Seals, bald eagles, herons, and deer entertained us. Cannot wait to return during whale season. The cabin is cozy and well appointed. We slept well and had everything we needed. Jayne was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for an amazing vacation!

Owner's Response: Thanks for such kind words. It makes my heart sing, when I know that others have enjoyed our cabin as much as we have. With the beach and the wild life, it's a hit for guests of all ages. I'm thrilled that both you and your children enjoyed yourselves. The whales are spectacular. They are definitely worth a trip back. Thanks again! Jayne

Aimless wandering, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is larger than it looks and has the rustic smell of a wood fire!! The location is wonderful and sunrises with fog drifting among the islands were mystical. I stayed with 3 girlfriends for 2 nights and after they left my husband, daughter and two granddaughters arrived. The girls were so excited to be ON the beach. As the tide went out we followed it and discovered huge beds of sanddollars (please do not pick them up). Lunches 15 minutes away in Coupeville were luscious. We suggest Front Street Grill for amazing mussels and Cafe Langley in Langley is a perfect place to eat as you get off the ferry. Thank you, Jayne, for a perfect little slice of heaven. Oh and grab some pie at Greenbank Farms!!!

Owner's Response: I am so happy to hear that you, your friends and your family enjoyed the experience at our cabin; that is the reason we like to share it with others. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are breath taking. When our children were little, no toys could compete with the beach, so I'm glad the girls enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your kind words. Cheers! Jayne

Location

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Ebey’s Prairie, Penn Cove, Fort Casey, miles of beaches and

Deception Pass State Park are all easily accessible and provide

beautiful sites for boating, hiking, biking, kayaking and picnicking.

Seasonal clamming and crabbing are also available.

For antiques and island history visit Coupeville. The nearby city of

Langley has great shopping, a small movie theatre and numerous art

galleries. Park your car at Keystone Ferry dock, and ride the ferry

to Port Townsend for the afternoon. Perhaps just spend the day in

quiet relaxation, reading, and enjoying the beauty of the beach.

Finish the evening off with a dinner at one of Coupeville's fine

restaurants, featuring fresh seafood and local cuisine.
