House on the Hill
The house was as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. It was 44 steps down to the water. Our 3 Goldens settled right in and enjoyed the swimming and morning walks. You could set on the deck overlooking the lake, in the sun, and read a book while the dogs dried off. We golfed Plum Lake, St. Germain and Eagle River. All enjoyable courses. All in all, a relaxing week.
Thank you for sharing your Up North home with us. The home was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in, especially considering you let us and others bring our four legged friends along. There was everything that we needed. You can see the pride you have put into it and you made us feel comfortable and welcome. Although the walk to the lake was a good workout, the views from the house were amazing.
We stayed at the Red House on the Hill from July 7-14, 2018. There were five of us plus one dog. We planned our trip to fish and to have access to more than one lake from our dock on Dam Lake. This house was perfect for us. We found everything in great condition and very clean. The A/C came in handy on some of the warmer nights. The kitchen was fully stocked and again, very clean. We rented a pontoon from Paul's Rent-All in St. Germain that we picked up at the boat landing the day we got to Dam Lake and dropped off the night before we left at the same landing. The pontoon was the best choice, as we could all fish and move about freely. We also were able to sit back and enjoy just cruising the channels from lake to lake. On the really warm days (there were plenty which was great) we'd anchor on a sandbar and all enjoy a refreshing swim. We were very successful fishing on Dam Lake. If you want to know where, you'll have to read the Visitor Book that we signed prior to leaving the Red House on the Hill! Thanks to the Weno's for a wonderful vacation!
A great place in the north woods.
The owners are very accommodating. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Red House On The Hill.
Great time on the Lake
My wife and I with our 2 young kids and a dog stayed here and had a really fun time. The kids loved swimming in the water. The house is clean, the kitchen is fully stocked and the deck has an awesome view of the lake. We were able to grill and eat outside on the picnic table and often ended the night with a campfire. Eagle River is close by which was great for a day trip to the children's museum.
