Detached house is in a private location, wooded lot, by a canal, located at the end of a quiet dead-end street. It is one mile from the beach.
No smoking. No pets (but there have been dogs in the house in the past). We like family rentals. The person who signs the lease must be one of the tenants.
The house is twenty years old, good condition, nicely decorated and furnished. It is not a large place, but it feels roomy, with high ceiling in the living-dining-kitchen area and lots of windows. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked (but no dishwasher). Canoe, kayaks, and bicycles are provided (but not guaranteed).
Rentals are Sunday-to-Sunday, so driving traffic is usually light, makes for a relaxed arrival.
Our Bethany home has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has one queen-size bed. The other bedroom has two twin beds (with a roll-away third twin bed). The living room has a queen sleeper sofa (not very comfortable, sorry). The capacity and limit of the house is six people (4 in beds plus 2 in sleeper-sofa). Please bring your own linens and towels.
The house has a full bath (shower stall, no tub), a half-bath in the master bedroom, and a really nice outdoor shower.
Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Nicely decorated.
Bikes, canoe, kayak provided for activities.
Our favorite part was the kayaks and canoe that are provided. The canal is just steps from the property providing easy access for the kayaks,the scenery is beautiful!
The house is very comfortable. All appliances worked well. It is very convenient to Bethany Beach boardwalk and great eating. We recommend the house for families interested in a quiet place after a long day at the beach.
We really enjoyed our week and hope to return sometime. The house was just as described, and the location was great--easy to get to the beach, local restaurants, etc., but quiet and out of the fray. With plenty of windows, ceiling fans, and the screened in porch (a favorite spot), we didn't need to use AC at all. And we loved having a canoe and kayaks to use on the canal (just steps away from the house). The bonus of being able to go paddling without having to make any special arrangements will likely bring us back again. Plus the owner was very nice and very responsive.
We found this beach house to be exactly as advertised. It is perfect for 2-4 adults in a quiet corner of a development. It is close enough to the beach, golf courses, shopping etc. to meet everyone's needs but secluded enough to enjoy quiet down time peacefully. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch for evening activities. We could enjoy the breezes with NO bugs!
We come every year. We love it! It is cozy, comfortable, clean, warmly decorated and has a great location with many activities at your fingertips. We always go back! Thank you for wonderful memories!
