Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect. Everything we needed to have a nice comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable and we slept well the entire trip. Kitchen was well stocked and Bill and Sherrie were so helpful with anything we needed. Great location, only a short drive to Grandfather Mtn., Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, great hiking and the Blue Ridge Parkway was only about 4 minutes away. We will definitely be back!

Great family place!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very neat and clean. We had a wonderful time. It was a great mini vacation for our family. The cottage was right on the river. My son enjoyed walking down to the river and fishing. We would watch him on the nice sized back porch while we were rocking. The kitchen in the cottage was well equipped. The only downfall was the grill, it was a park type charcoal grill and it was not located at the cabin (it was across the driveway). Not a big deal though! Everything else was wonderful!

Honeymoon getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon, we LOVED it! It's small, very small but beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. Ours was a destination wedding at Grandfather Mountain's Highland Games, so a full kitchen was a must when bringing loads of food for our wedding reception. We were right on the river and spent much of our time on our wonderful back porch in the rocking chairs, watching the birds and chipmunks play and the river flow by... after the stress of planning a wedding, it was the perfect peaceful, restful place to be. Phone signals were bad, no internet, and limited channels on the TV, but that's one of the reasons we liked it, we were "unplugged" for five glorious nights! Bill and Sherri, proprietors, were wonderful hosts, even brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding. We will be back next year, I'm sure, for our anniversary.
