The California of the movies

  • 5 of 5

Three blocks from the 'Baywatch' beach, two blocks from where modern skateboarding started (this is Dogtown!), one block from the best alternative shopping street in Santa Monica, a short walk to the farmers market, and a short jog to the legendary Venice Gold's Gym, this is Santa Monica!

My wife and I stayed here for six months. I was working from home, so I'd go body boarding at lunch time, and run down to Gold's to train in the afternoons. I wish we could of stayed longer.

The property is pleasently furnished in a beach house style, everything feels new, clean, airy, and the kitchen has everything you'll need.

There's a nice patio out the back for al fresco dining (I made a point of eating breakfast outside), and John, the owner, keeps a beautiful garden. John is also a veteran of Hollywood who's worked with many big names.

You're only one block from Main St (shops, restaurants, etc), yet the street you're on is very quiet. I got to know many of the neighbours, who all seem to work in the movies in some way.
