House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4
About Sarah Hopkins
We have rented this property since 2006 to those wanting to escape the harsh northern winters. Our renters stay normally from 3-6 months and many have returned in subsequent years. Sometimes they rent both houses (larger casa and the casita) to have plenty of room for family and friends to visit.
Sarah Hopkins purchased this House in 2004
Why Sarah Hopkins chose Centro Historico
We purchased this property because of the spectacular views, from the higher-level casita and from the casa below, as well. We wanted to have a family vacation home near the water and in Mexico in particular, since we like the culture so much. We rent the property when our family is not in residence.

Lovely Mazatlan home in Centro
This lovely home met all our criteria for our month long stay in Mazatlan.
We are avid walkers and it is within walking distance to many of our favourite locations in Centro: Plazuela Machado, Olas Atlas Beach and the Malecon, the Mercado, the Shrimp Ladies, the ferry to Stone Island, the monthly Artwalk, endless evenings of talented musicians playing at different locations in Centro...I could go on but you should experience it for yourself first!
Thank you to the Owners and to their property manager Eduardo who is wonderfully helpful, thoughtful and full of interesting ideas of where to go in Mazatlan.
We are already planning next season's visit!!
Wonderful vacation home
My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience in the Casita. Large, lovely, well-furnished and stocked, with a magnificent patio perfect for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the afternoon. However, as a heads-up for future renters, know that there is a steep hill necessary to climb (about 1 block) to get to and from the Casita. It is readily doable, but a good fact to be aware of. Also, note that there are neighborhood roosters and dogs that can be a bit annoying, but in all reality, we had a wonderful time spent and the property, being about a 10 minute walk to Machado Plaza and less to the mercado, as well as about the same to the Malécon. Sarah has a maid that comes once per week (very friendly and efficient) and she has a couple who manages the property that couldn't be more helpful. Given the opportunity in the future, we would rent here again.
