Overview

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 6 Sleeps

The newly renovated Jepsen Heritage Cottage, is located off State Rt. 54A at (formerly 42) 420 Crescent Beach Dr, at the northern end of the West branch of Keuka Lake about 1.5 miles from Branckport and 10 miles from Penn Yan. It is in a quiet family community with both seasonal cottages and year-round homes.

Guests of the cottage will enjoy an unobstructed, picturesque view of the western branch of Keuka Lake from a 2012 rebuilt enclosed porch. This includes a view of Bluff Point and the eastern branch which is nearly 10 miles away.

The cottage is situated on a level location from the 3 car parking area on the north, to the cottage, and then gently slopes to the water's edge. There are two small steps to the north entrance and a 2 step entrance to a newly constructed outside deck, on the the west.

The 55 - foot frontage is a fine-pebble beach which provides easy

access to shallow water. This area is perfect for families who desire wading or swimming, or just relaxing with a good book.

The water depth increases very gradually, from approximately 20' at the end of the dock to 4' deep at 130 feet from shore. The buoys mark the drop off to the deeper waters of the lake and are a favorite spot for fishermen from around the world.

Inside the buoys s a no-wake zone, giving safe swimming and recreation for families.

About Chris and Joan Johnson

Chris and Joan Johnson, owners. Both educators for 35 years in Brockport , NY. Joan's parents purchased the family cottage in 1964, where family gathered every summer throughout her childhood. Once it was time to pass the cottage on she and her husband took over responsibility and ownership. In the last few years they have personally enjoyed renovating during school vacations to enhance, yet keep the charm of this lovely vacation home.

Chris and Joan Johnson purchased this cottage in 1993

Why Chris and Joan Johnson chose Keuka Lake

We were dedicated to keeping this property in the family after our father and mother purchased it in 1964. Many wonderful memories have been made there and many more are to come. Numbers of the same families remain neighbors and great friends from the past decades. It is our oasis, the place we long to be at as much as feasibly possible. For times we cannot be there ourselves, we love to offer it to other families to start to make similar memories of their own.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay here so much. What a wonderful place to spend a family wedding weekend without the long drive back home. It was a mini vacation that was enhanced by your wonderful attention to making the cottage so comfortable for guests. Thank you!

Wonderful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My family spent July 4th week at the Jepsen Cottage and could not have been happier with our stay. The lake is beautiful and the cottage is so welcoming and homey. Joan was very helpful with every question I had about the property and always got back to me quickly. I really loved the instructions in each room of the house which made is super easy to close down the cottage on check out. While in Branchport, we traveled to Rochester to visit The Strong Museum which the kids loved as well as the adults. Heading into Penn Yan is a little farmers market called Indian Pines and it had the best corn on the cob and the peach salsa was so yummy. The local laundromat was a short drive into town and the movie theatre was right next door. We enjoyed taking the boat out onto the lake and swimming in the shallow water. The kids were in the lake everyday. Nights were spent around the fire pit and mornings having coffee in front of the lake. A trip to Watkins Glen falls was a special highlight of the trip and a must see. Grocery shopping was a quick trip to Penn Yan to the 'Aldi's or Tops. There are many wineries and ice cream shops to choose from for a special treat. Overall, I would highly recommend the cottage. It was one of my favorite vacations.

Great family getaway, beautifull fall foliage

  • 5 of 5

We spent Columbus weekend at this quaint cottage right on Keuka Lake. We had a relaxing weekend with beautiful, cool, crisp weather. The leaves are just starting to turn and the whole scene off the back porch was breathtaking!!

The cottage itself was cozy and warm, with plenty of space for my family of five. We all slept great on the comfortable beds and futons.

The asking price was extremely reasonable and compatible with local rentals.

We will definitely consider renting this cottage again.

Clean, accurate description, beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

This was a great cottage that met all our needs. The lake views are amazing. The glider on the dock was my favorite spot. There was plenty of dishes and cookware. We cooked meals every day but one. My husband liked the grill. The owners were easy to work with. Provided extensive instructions for the cottage, and also recommendations for restaurants, local activities, etc. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Will stay there again. Did lots of hiking, fishing, kayaking. Gorgeous sunsets. Felt very much "at home" while we were there.

For close friends and couples looking to get away

  • 5 of 5

The title sums it up - this is a perfect spot for couples and close friends to get away. The neighbors are next to you, but they know how to make themselves invisible, except for the occasional kind word to let you that you should feel comfortable asking questions.

The lake is warm, clean, and shallow - perfect for dipping. It's super quiet and peaceful. Bring some burgers and stuff to grill. Take long drives on empty country roads. Go out on the lake. Oh, and you can see shooting stars, constellations, and the milky way..

Then again, I might be biased. After all, I did propose to my now fiance on a clear starry night on rocking bench at the end of the dock. So, make of that what you will.

Long story short: cute place, quiet, makes you wish you lived there.

Delightful Get-away

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at Jepsen Heritage Cottage was such a delight, decorated with an Adirondack flare. The property was well maintained inside and out. The owners were extremely nice and very welcoming. The place was quiet, comfortable with a beautiful view of the lake. The back bedroom was cozy and relaxing. There were many places to sit and eat. I would recommend this property to friends and family.
