Snowmobile Trip Feb 2017

  • 5 of 5

Spent a wonderful 4 nights at the cabin. Amazing place and very well appointed! Did not want to leave! We could not have asked for anything else to be furnished. Loved the Northwoods theme and enjoyed a nice fire in the evening. Fairly close to snowmobile trails which were nice and smooth for the most part. Would definitely come back again to this gem! Wondering if all the mounts were the owners???

Northwoods Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights and enjoyed every minute. The home is gorgeous, spacious and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed. Patti was very helpful and promptly answered any questions we had.

We had a cozy wood fire going each night and listened to music on Direct TV. It was a nice change being away from our "screens". Two of the nights we went outside to see the stars which were magnificent.

The home is surrounded by wilderness with no neighbors in sight. We drove the forest roads checking out the area. All were well plowed.

Places to snow shoe were easy to find. We went to three different spots and enjoyed them all.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway in the wilderness, it would be hard to beat this home.

Lovely home for a family weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here to be close to a resort where a family wedding was taking place but wanted to have a place for all of our adult children and grand child to be under one roof with us for the long weekend. This was one of the most comfortable homes we have vacationed in. It had everything we needed. The area was beautiful for exploring. We had the most wonderful time and were thankful for A/C since it was unseasonably hot for September.

Great accommodations. Very quiet and private location.

Everything was wonderful and comfortable. The cabin is about 25 miles outside of Minocqua, but well worth the drive for the feeling of isolation. There were ripe black berries everywhere for adding to pancakes! The huge wrap around deck kept us away from most of the mosquitoes down below in the yard. There is great fishing nearby and the canoes don't leak. This was one of the nicest cabins I have rented. Thank you!

This place is "ok" but needs a bit of work to make it safer.

  • 2 of 5

We were anxious to get settled in. Upon arrival we immediately saw a few problems~~~

1) the deck rail is in dire need of repair, 2) approaching the unit we saw a problem right away. Being seniors we use hand rails to climb any stairs when ever possible. THERE IS NO HANDRAIL ! climbing the first set of three steps has a rail. BUT the second step, (only one step), is sturdy but it doesn't go all the way across to the deck rail posts! There is approx a 3 foot space between the step and the posts. Any senior or small child will usually automatically go to the side of the step for a hand hold when climbing or descending. We piled pieces of firewood to block this area to remind us there is no step. As you move around the deck you soon realize you should NOT lean on the railing. It is in need of replacement.

Inside the home is a somewhat different story. Very nicely furnished. Could use more hanging spaces for clothes on hangers, we took the hall tree and used it in one bedroom and the other hung clothes from the curtain hangers. One other safety item might be added, A screen for the fireplace. The fireplace does a nice job of adding warmth and charm to the living room. The kitchen is well furnished as are the rest of the other rooms.

I would also suggest you warn others not to leave garbage outside at anytime. Use the dumpster provided! Bear scat was found in many parts of the lawn, They are a common "pest" in that area, Any garbage left outside is an open invitation to them to come visiting.

Owner's Response: We're sorry to hear our place wasn't to your liking. Even though you are the first guests that have mentioned something about the railing, we are already in the process of getting it replaced. We have 4 grandchildren and are concerned of safety for everyone. We want to thank you for bringing these ideas to our attention.
