House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 5 Sleeps

This is an older cottage right on the ocean, that is clean, well

maintained, updated furniture, and

a very nice yard, that goes right into the ocean. The neighborhood is

not a tourist area at all, so

you are looking for night life, this is not the place. There are

grocery stores close by, it is

30 minutes to Waikiki, and 20 to the airport, so you will need a car.

It is small, and the neighbors are close.

It is children friendly, with a fenced-in yard. Hawaii is not to

happy with short term rentals, so

want renters that are

not going to, bring negative

attention in any way. It is nice for

families with young children. It is a very relaxing, beautiful, and most of the time a quiet area. You have views of

Honolulu, Wikiki, and Diamond Head, and the beautiful ocean right

outside the door.

Terrific Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 had an terrific stay at this property. Pam was very easy to work with to book and the property was not misrepresented in any way. It is an older cottage-style home, but is well maintained, clean, and has all of the comforts of home. It is well ventilated with the ocean breezes and we did not need to use the air conditioners. The yard is plenty big for kids (ours are 12, 9, & 7) to run around and play. We did not notice any burrs in the grass as others mentioned. The property is on the water with a sea wall and there is a lot of coral in the water that prevents swimming, but we spent so much time out and about visiting other places and beaches on the island it was a non-issue. If you prefer to be a home body, about a quarter mile down the beach there are a couple of sand-entry spots to swim.

The neighborhood is an older neighborhood, but it did not bother our family at all. We got the impression that it is a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood. The property is conveniently located near several stores and low-price restaurants with everything from McDonald's to Korean BBQ and sushi. When we first booked, my wife was a little concerned by some of the reviews, but she was very pleased with the property and location once we arrived. My in-laws stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village during our stay and when we went to their resort, my wife referred to it as an "LA/Vegas" feel that she didn't care for, and was happy we we decided to not stay in Waikiki. She said this property made her feel like we were living in Hawaii, not just visiting. So, if you're looking for a resort/tourist-zone vacation, you may be better served in Waikiki. If you're wanting a laid-back, at-home feeling, this is the place.

A little piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

This is a cute and impeccably maintained house right on the beach. We stayed here as a part of our honeymoon. It's very private. Sitting on the porch and watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or sunset with a glass if wine is perfection. It's a little bit of a drive into Waikiki or the airport but well worth it to be removed from the hustle and bustle. You can look far and wide and never find a place this close to the water. We will definitely come back.

Best vacation

  • 5 of 5

My sister and her two daughters went on this vacation with me and we had a great time in Hawaii. The house was our best choose of living place we went to the store

and had the food we enjoyed. We BBQ on the porch and had the most wonderful time watching the waves come and go. We even watched a storm come in from the ocean with lighting, thunder and wind it was great. I would invite everybody to look into this kind of vacation. The house was like being in your own home. I hope to be able to go back and use this as my place to stay. We all love this house.:) Thank you for this time in your house.

Ocean Front Cottage at Ewa Beach

  • 4 of 5

This is a great little beach house with an awesome view of the ocean. Very peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay. The main sites on the island were not so far away from the rental house and we thought that the house was in a convenient location.

My family had such a wonderful time here

  • 5 of 5

My family spent 10 days here and it was wonderful. You go to sleep with the sound of ocean and it can't get anymore peaceful.

The property was very clean and very well maintained. There were grocery stores nearby and kitchen was all equipped so we could cook whenever we felt like eating in. This is definitely away from the touristy area but has everything to enjoy your vacation. We rented a car drove around where ever we wanted to go.

There was a little problem with using the stove but when I contacted the owner they were very fast with response and had someone come over to fix it right away. It was great.

Another minor problem was with the taxi driver who dropped of my parents. My brother and I were coming from one place and my parents from another and our flight schedule was totally off so that my parents had to go to the cottage first. They had to grab a taxi since it was us renting the car and the taxi driver couldn't find the place. My brother and I had a GPS so we had no problem finding the place but I guess direction was a little confusing to the driver.

Overall experience was just great and my family have such a fond memory of this place we are even considering going back next time we visit Oahu.

Thanks Pam and Al!
