House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Please check availability calendar! It is up to date.

Our 2 bedroom 1 bath house sits on high stilts directly overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Located in undiscovered Dekle Beach, Florida. It is a retreat from everything. We are about three miles up the coast from Keaton Beach. The home overhangs the Gulf, with the high tides lapping against the sea wall. The porch/deck looking out on the Gulf. Sunbathing is great right on the 3rd story wrap around deck. There is an open mezzanine floor between the house and the ground level and covered parking at ground level. Great for grilling in a rain, baby cribs and lots of people room. Relax and read on the couch on the mezzanine. You will enjoy breathtaking gulf views and fabulous sunsets. FISH CLEANING TABLE WITH RUNNING WATER!! Steps down into the water! After 2016, I will no longer rent the house for more than 1 month. I am sorry.

About the Owner

I'm 67 years old and I live in Ocala, Florida. My husband and I purchased the house is 2001. I have rented the house for several years and have had fantastic reviews through other vacation websites. i also have two places on the Atlantic coast and are also available for rent through this website. I take great pride in my beautiful places and am very responsive to any of our guests' needs. I do not live locally but can be there in 2 1/2 hours. I have a team of folks that help me with any issues you may encounter. I am available by phone but especially by email.

Hi Martie, we certainly had a great time at your place. Everything was clean & all the appliances were top of the line. Both beds slept great. The binoculars were a real plus. I got to follow the skimmers as the glazed over the water. Before I had only seen them in the air or on the beach. It was really special to have crabs & horseshoe crabs right at our landing. It is mating season & all the horseshoe crabs were in pairs. We enjoyed Keaton Beach. Talked to such nice family people out having a day of fishing. Had a super chili dog at the beach. We checked out Dallas Landing & think we would like to fish or take our kayaks there. In all we feel if someone wants to see the old Florida, this is the place. The sunsets & the moon were beautiful! I am really glad I brought my bike. To ride along the coast & ride toward the coast, as I went down the dead end street was what I have always wanted to do. Even with the rain I got in 17 miles while there. Gary saw one large ray over by the bridge. Of course the hoist went great and was a life saver for me and saved many trips up & down the steps. I really lucked out. I had packed all the groceries in canvas bags with straps. We love this place!

Beautiful views, scallopps nearly at your doorsteps...

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time. The place was clean and well equipped. Fishing and scalloping was great, no long boat ride. Parking is very tight if you have a boat/trailer. Private ramp was great during scalloping season (no waiting/finding a space). The decks were amazingly comfortable even in the 95+ degree heat of August (wonderful breeze in the evening). Of course, the sunsets make it worth while. The owner was a joy to work with. We will definitely be back.

Never miss a sunset!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in Fisherman's Paradise. And we will definitely be back again. The house is wonderfully located right on the Gulf. The sunsets are spectacularly! The neighborhood is nice, quiet and peaceful. It has everything you need to relax! We have stayed during scalloping season. It's so convenient to launch our boat just a few blocks from the house. The owner is wonderful to work with. She even calls to check to make sure everything is perfect! The property is clean and well maintained.

Perfect location! Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

One of our best family vacations, four children ages 9 to 12 loved kayaking, snorkeling and scalloping. Best sunsets and night sky we have ever seen.

Wonderful gulf breeze for almost our entire stay!

We will be back, hopefully sooner than later.

gulf front annivesary vacation 2016

  • 5 of 5

We spent Mon. thru Friday at the Gulf Front. The sunset views were beautiful and breath taking. The cabin had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood. We fished and went sight seeing. We visited Manatee Springs which was amazing. Went to Keaton Beach pier and saw a huge manatee swimming around. Fished from the pier and caught blue fish, pompano and was a nice sheep head. Just a very relaxing place to visit. Will return soon hopefully.

Owner's Response: Hi, Bruce, I loved your review. I did not know about the manatee around Keaton! Good suggestion about fishing off of the pier! Thank you for the great information for others visiting the Gulf Front Sunset.

Location

From the Owner

It is so peaceful! The area is still pristine and undisturbed. I love to study the stars and at night, on a clear night, the Milky Way is breathtaking. The weather is always a pleasure, whether it is a sunbathing day, or a stormy night. I also love bird watching. I like to sit with binoculars and identify them. At night, we grill out on the nice double hibachi grills and enjoy talking and being with family.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Tallahassee at 60 Miles Car: necessary

Exceptional scalloping during summer scalloping season. It is located in one of the few remaining pristine Florida coastal areas called Nature Coast. Amenities

From the Owner

Underdeveloped Florida is almost a thing of the past. Dekle is a nice community of 40 houses. Scalloping season is the high season and often the scall0ps are right out in front of the house. 3 kayaks are there for your use. Fishing is great as well.
