Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, sleeps 14

More pictures on Facebook, search Turtle Cove Lake-Anna. Located on the priviate side of Lake Anna, Turtle Cove is a quiet retreat for anyone wishing to get

away from it all! The home is nestled in the woods with approximately 100' of waterfront directly on Lake Anna.

Since this home is located on the private or 'warm' side of Lake Anna, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the water early in spring and late into the fall. In August, the water does get warm, however, a short boat ride to cooler portions of the lake will help to cool you off on those hot summer days!

The private side of Lake Anna is considerably quieter than the public side. You will find that on most days, there is very little boat traffic and you will feel as though you 'own' the entire lake.

Great weekend getaway with friends

  • 4 of 5

Every year we get together with a group of friends from college and this secluded lake house was just perfect for us! Kathryn was so easy to coordinate with and always quick to respond and provide an answer to my questions. Like most houses on VRBO, you have to bring your own linens/towels which isn't a big deal in our minds. Everything else you needed was at the house (dishes, lake toys, grill etc). Couldn't have picked a better location for us and our dogs (a big plus!!!) to get together and enjoy each others company. Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Lovely long weekend!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. The house and "barn" accommodations were great. Only suggestions for improvement would be - there is a slight musty smell in the barn. Everything else was great.

The house is very conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and garbage drop-off.

Great!

  • 5 of 5

Spacious enough for our large family without being on top of each other. Comfortable home, beautiful spot, although the water was extremely warm it was great for night swimming. The owners were great to work with especially when reserving the home and answering questions. Food Lion is a short distance away as well as Dollar General. The game room was awesome. We had plenty of family time and never a boring moment!

Great Place on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time using the boats and swimming, the lake is close to the house, and there is a wonderful view even with the property being heavily wooded. The warm water was perfect for an early summer trip. We really enjoyed the fire pit and the covered area of the deck when we had wet weather. The house is spacious and the extra building was a plus for multiple families to get together. The futon in the barn is better for smaller children than adults. The owners were very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly. We really had a wonderful stay and would love to do it again!

Great place, would definitely recommend

  • 4 of 5

We appreciated how responsive the owners were. We booked about a week ahead of time and the owners got back to us promptly.

We had a lovely weekend and really enjoyed the firepit. The place would be great for anyone planning on spending time on the lake.

There are a couple of things which could be improved. The first would be the cleaning. There were some pretty sizable spiderwebs in the corner of the living room and just walking up to the front door. I would say the place was generally clean, but it could have been a bit better. The other improvement that is needed are some privacy curtains on the doors in the upstairs barn room. It looks like we were not the only ones who thought this as there were a couple of nails strategically and precariously located for hanging a sheet.

The fold-out couch in the living room was probably the most comfortable fold-out couch I have ever slept on. It surprised me. That being said, it is a double, not a queen sized bed.

I do want to thank the owners for being friendly and responsive. I would definitely recommend the place.

Map

At Turtle Cove, there is lots to do! Take your boat out for the day, swim, fish or just enjoy reading a book by the water. The home has a canoe and rowboat for visitors to use (special

waiver must be signed for access to these), and also features a horseshoe court as well as a firepit

to enjoy the evenings by the lake. Should you end up with a rainy day, enjoy the selection of

movies, books or board games. Spend the afternoon in the 'Barn' playing pool or watching your favorite DVD's. You'll always find something to do at Turtle Cove! Local channels only are offered on the TV in the house. There is no cable or WiFi access.

Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Richmond are all within an hour drive from Turtle Cove, so take an excursion and see some local sites! Wineries and breweries are also a fun way to spend an afternoon in the area.
