Turtle Cove - Waterfront- Private Boat House

Bedrooms 4
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, sleeps 14

More pictures on Facebook, search Turtle Cove Lake-Anna. Located on the priviate side of Lake Anna, Turtle Cove is a quiet retreat for anyone wishing to get

away from it all! The home is nestled in the woods with approximately 100' of waterfront directly on Lake Anna.

Since this home is located on the private or 'warm' side of Lake Anna, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the water early in spring and late into the fall. In August, the water does get warm, however, a short boat ride to cooler portions of the lake will help to cool you off on those hot summer days!

The private side of Lake Anna is considerably quieter than the public side. You will find that on most days, there is very little boat traffic and you will feel as though you 'own' the entire lake.

Even better in person

  • 4 of 5

The house and property is even better in person!

We had 10 adults and 2 dogs and had plenty of space. The only place we bumped elbows was in the kitchen, but each family took turns making dinner so it wasn’t a big deal.

The paddle boats were a hit and being on the cove was perfect for the kids to play around in the water with no boat traffic.

The pool table in the barn only had one working pool stick and the fuse ball table is wobbly.

We’re already talking about going back next year!

Beautiful setting, spacious environment. A true vacation home

  • 5 of 5

A perfect setting for our extended family vacation. The game room was perfect. And the loft was ideal for more privacy. Secluded setting made it safe for grandchildren to play outside. The house had a well stocked kitchen and washer and dryer were a plus. The view from the back deck was beautiful. The lake pier with boats was easy to access, but be cautious of slittering friends in and on the boat house. Since this was the "warm" side of the lake, the rising steam gave the lake a mystic fog.

We did not miss cable or internet. There were a variety of board games, books and DVDs available. A grocery store and red box is not far away. There was not a large trash dumpster on the property so we had to take trash out everday to dumpster 5 miles away . Our only suggestion would be to make sure the house was rid of spider webs in corners and under beds.

We look forward to a return visit and highly recommend others to visit the Turtle Cove.

Cozy home in a great location!

  • 4 of 5

Turtle Cove was a cozy home with more than enough room for our 11 people. The home was well stocked and had 3 boats for us to use at the private dock. Even with a fire pit under water, due to the many recent rains, and battling a few bugs, we had a fabulous time at Turtle Cove!

Perfect spot for a group's weekend at the lake

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle Cove. The house was perfect for our group of 11 with plenty of sleeping and sitting space. We loved being right on the water and appreciated the boats and tubes we were able to use. This house is definitely on the warmest part of the lake!

John and Kathryn are wonderful and accommodating. They are responsive to emails and have a great home with lots of amenities. The house has a big open great room, with plenty of seating and room for everyone if for some reason you choose to stay indoors. The kitchen is stocked with everything we needed except food to prepare 3 meals a day for 6 adults. I cannot comment on the TV situation as we never even thought about turning it on. There are a good number of video games, movies and books in the cabinet, but did not actually look for something we wanted to watch/read/play. The beds are very comfortable, especially for a rental. The deck offered plenty of seating for gathering and spending time together while cooking on the grill, or just for an evening relaxing time. There is a fire pit down by the lake and piles of firewood, with plenty of light weight outdoor seating that can be shared between the firepit and the dock area. The paddle boat and row boat are already in the water and ready for use, a canoe is on land for those that want even more adventure. We paddled around the practically private cove unhindered by the big boats we could hear but not see. The water was VERY warm in that area, but it was a great depth to comfortably enjoy, especially with children. The covered dock made it great to get out of that high noon sun but stay by the water. The closet FULL of floats and noodles was a great bonus saving us a trip to Dollar General for new ones. The game room was a fun place to hang out when the sun got too much and we needed an indoor break. The neighborhood roads are quiet and great for early morning walks. The owners even leave an MVP (discount card) card for those that do not have a Food Lion in their area to use. There are so many small touches that made our experience great. If you are looking for a great place to relax and reconnect with your family, this is the place!

At Turtle Cove, there is lots to do! Take your boat out for the day, swim, fish or just enjoy reading a book by the water. The home has a canoe and rowboat for visitors to use (special

waiver must be signed for access to these), and also features a horseshoe court as well as a firepit

to enjoy the evenings by the lake. Should you end up with a rainy day, enjoy the selection of

movies, books or board games. Spend the afternoon in the 'Barn' playing pool or watching your favorite DVD's. You'll always find something to do at Turtle Cove! Local channels only are offered on the TV in the house. There is no cable or WiFi access.

Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Richmond are all within an hour drive from Turtle Cove, so take an excursion and see some local sites! Wineries and breweries are also a fun way to spend an afternoon in the area.
