More pictures on Facebook, search Turtle Cove Lake-Anna. Located on the priviate side of Lake Anna, Turtle Cove is a quiet retreat for anyone wishing to get
away from it all! The home is nestled in the woods with approximately 100' of waterfront directly on Lake Anna.
Since this home is located on the private or 'warm' side of Lake Anna, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the water early in spring and late into the fall. In August, the water does get warm, however, a short boat ride to cooler portions of the lake will help to cool you off on those hot summer days!
The private side of Lake Anna is considerably quieter than the public side. You will find that on most days, there is very little boat traffic and you will feel as though you 'own' the entire lake.
We appreciated how responsive the owners were. We booked about a week ahead of time and the owners got back to us promptly.
We had a lovely weekend and really enjoyed the firepit. The place would be great for anyone planning on spending time on the lake.
There are a couple of things which could be improved. The first would be the cleaning. There were some pretty sizable spiderwebs in the corner of the living room and just walking up to the front door. I would say the place was generally clean, but it could have been a bit better. The other improvement that is needed are some privacy curtains on the doors in the upstairs barn room. It looks like we were not the only ones who thought this as there were a couple of nails strategically and precariously located for hanging a sheet.
The fold-out couch in the living room was probably the most comfortable fold-out couch I have ever slept on. It surprised me. That being said, it is a double, not a queen sized bed.
I do want to thank the owners for being friendly and responsive. I would definitely recommend the place.
There were a total of 14 of us for New Year's weekend and we had a nearly perfect stay at Turtle Cove. The hosts are very communicative and responsive, and there was the easiest check in with keyless entry so we didn't need to meet with anyone at a specific time.
Both houses provide ample space with much to do between the boats on the lake, movies, board games, fire pit, pool table and Foosball table. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to cook for the masses. The only downsides are that the "Barn" (recreation house) could have been a bit cleaner on the upstairs floor, and there isn't much cell phone service (only 3 people in our party of 14 had it) so wifi could be useful as well.
Overall, great stay at Turtle Cove and I would recommend it (especially in the Summer when there is more activity in the area).
We had a lovely long weekend that was totally relaxing. The guys went fishing every morning and the ladies just sat on the back deck enjoying conversation and the scenery. It was a lovely time and we are looking forward to going back again.
We enjoyed the house and our stay. The only factor that was not nice is that the house is too close to the power plant and water in the lake was 95 degrees. Not refreshing at all. But I guess it is expected in the end of the summer.
We had a large annual gathering of friends and truly enjoyed the house. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Having the separate barn house was perfect. Bunk room was great for singles (or would be good for kids). Kitchen was well stocked and having the gas grill on the back deck was ideal. Gorgeous view of the water and nice covered dock. Only negative was the water on this side of the lake was warmer than bath water so we couldn't get in. We went to the other cooler side of the lake via Sturgeons Creek Marina and had a blast! Thanks for the hospitality. We hope to return.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house is very nice and clean and spacious. We had a blast. The 'Barn' is such a great feature! Game room, a great place to gather at night. Our family used it every night. We could not believe how warm the Lake was! Love the property, with all the trees! We enjoyed the fire pit. We had some rain a couple of days, but we were still out by the water. As for the TV, we only turned it on twice, to watch a couple of movies. Everyone had such a good time. One thing though. It would have been nice to have a dock ladder to get in and out of the water. Other than that, great summer rental. Thanks!
