RECENT TESTIMONIAL: 'Susan, Sarah and I enjoyed our vacation so much last month. Thank you again for letting us stay! We have been talking and would love to come back next summer for a longer period of time. Possibly a couple of weeks if that is possible. We'll be talking a lot about it and we'll have to give you the dates when it gets closer. You are truly lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We've even decided to look around the area for a home after college! Thanks again, take care!

Beautiful setting & relaxing get away

  • 4 of 5

My boyfriend and I visited for our anniversary & it was everything we looked for in a romantic, relaxing, getaway! The property faces the calming lake, with a long deck which we enjoyed drinks on and watched the amazing sunsets. The rental included 2 kayaks, which is how we started our mornings, exploring the shoreside on the calm waters. The property is in a great location, within a 15-30 minute drive north or south to some of Seneca's top wineries. Our favorites were Wagner Vineryard & Shalestone, both which were close! Susan, the owner, went out of her way to ensure we had a special & memorable stay. We couldn't thank her enough for making our stay welcoming & the perfect getaway! We would love to visit again .. Highly recommend !

A true escape from the bustle of every day life

  • 5 of 5

You can't beat a lake front house with a dock. The sounds of the water lapping against the shore and the sunsets across the way will be with us forever.

Great place to relax

  • 5 of 5

The only bad review that we can give is that we had to leave. The owners were very nice and very accommodating. Spent most of our time on the porch just relaxing. Am hoping to come back next year. Thank you Susan for a great getaway!

Clean and beautiful views

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and totally enjoyed ourselves. Everything was as advertised. Prices well The views are excellent. We used the kitchen for most meals and spent most of our time on the dock and screened room. Owners were friendly and available if needed Thanks for a relaxing stay. We would definitely stay again

Our stay

  • 2 of 5

We stayed one night, it had it's good points and bad. We had booked a month in advance, but when we arrived past the check in time, it was not ready for us, we went shopping for groceries while it was being readied. Also, it could have been a lot cleaner, and spruced up a little bit more, for example, tape on the mini blinds to hold them together. Front burner on stove didn't work. No cover on ceiling light, just a bulb you had to screw in. Bathroom, while mostly clean, smelled of mildew. The mattress on the futon was pretty uncomfortable. Not much attention to detail. A beautiful location with a wonderful view. Nothing special to make us want to return. Hosts attitude was indifferent at best.

Owner's Response: It is distressing to learn from this review that these vacationers were unhappy with their stay at Suzie's on Seneca. I am always open to recommendations on how to improve the property and will certainly make every effort to address the points that were made about the ceiling light, blinds, damp odor and the stove burner. (There are six lamps and three overhead lights in the apartment and the "screw in" ceiling light is not needed and not meant to be used.) As stated on the website: The property is "more rustic than Ritz." The main attraction is certainly the close proximity to the lake, the lovely surrounding area, your own private screened in porch and fully equipped kitchen. I have striven to set realistic expectations to prospective vacationers ahead of time so that they can make an informed decision with much success. This party was granted special requests in advance and made no mention of any dissatisfaction to me while they were here. I emphasized to them as I always do, "if you need ANYTHING, please let me know!" They did not. I told this party upon meeting that my sister in law had just died unexpectedly and my drive back from the funeral in Long Island that day took longer than expected which is why the property was not entirely ready for another half an hour. This less than satisfactory experience is atypical and I take these points VERY seriously. They will be addressed. Ninety-nine percent of my renters have been delighted with their experience as we have been delighted with the many wonderful, interesting people that we have had the honor and privilege to host! Sincerely, Susan Sullivan
