Location and comforts of home!
Enjoyed our stay at this home! It was nice to meet the owner and get a walk through of the property. It is located close to many things at Fox Lake! Restaurants, Marina, Bakery are within walking or short driving distance. Well supplied kitchen, plenty of towels, with many of the comforts of home. Owner continues to improve the property. Clean and convenient and I would stay again.
Family Time Vacation
My husband, son, and I live in Georgia, and we rented Kirk's home to spend quality time with our daughter, her husband, and our toddler grandson, who reside in Illinois. The description of the Adorable Bungalow is accurate, and it is obvious that Kirk truly cares about the comfort of his guests. The towels in both baths and linen closets are luxurious. The home was clean, well maintained, and provided a comfortable environment for visiting, playing games, and relaxing. We also enjoyed the fact that the home was conveniently located to restaurants, the lake, and playground. We enjoyed our four nights in Kirk's home and would definitely stay here again.
Occupational Therapy Girls Weekend
We stayed in Kirk’s rental for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There were 6 of us women (all OT's from college) who chose this location for multiple reasons. The house is the perfect size, it was closely located to the Illinois /Wisconsin border and there were a lot of shopping centers close by. The weekend began with Kirk greeting us, kindly showing us his home and answering questions we had. His home is a nice size four bedroom bungalow with an area where we could dine together and afterward play games and catch up on happenings in our lives. The home is very clean and organized. No need to bring a lot of extra pots and pans he has it all right there for you. The bathrooms are well stocked with plenty of pretty matching towels, washcloths and hand towels. It would have been fun to bring our kids as they would have enjoyed the bonus “closet rooms”. We really enjoyed our weekend catching up with each other while spending it in this nice home. We hope to visit Fox Lake Illinois again and stay in Kirk’s rental.
Clean, tidy, quiet and cozy
Kirk was excellent in all aspects of our vacation rental. Communication was good, the place was spacious, clean, and very quiet. Location is ideal with supermarkets and the chain of lakes minutes away. Fully recommend staying at this location when visiting Fox Lake!
Let me begin by saying that the pictures for this cottage don’t do it any justice. As you turn into the driveway at 11 Meade Ct., you really don’t get a grasp for the beauty you are about to encounter. As we walk into the door we got our first glimpse of the kitchen. Kirk pointed out to us the dishes, utensils, cookware, refrigerator, and other kitchen generalities that we would have access to. This was such a bonus, since we didn’t necessarily want to eat out for every meal. This afforded us the opportunity to cook when we desired which gave this cottage a great home feel rather than an impersonal hotel feel. As Kirk gave us the tour of the downstairs, we couldn’t help but take notice of how neat and clean everything was. The downstairs master bedroom was spacious and we had plenty of extra towels if we needed them. The dining room/ living room was a large enough area for all 7 of us to hang out. Upstairs had 3 other bedrooms. What was really cool was that the bedrooms that had two beds also had a closet or so it appeared. These “closets” actually turned out to be additional rooms with beds. It’s the sort of thing you would have to see to fully appreciate. Needless to say, there was plenty of room for 7.
Another thing I must mention that you won’t see in the description of this place or the pictures is the closet of fun. There is a closet dedicated to board games. Our family thought this was one of the best things about this cottage. Our family included a four year old who was entertained to the fullest with the fun stuff found in that closet (not to mention all the adults). The best thing our family loved about the cottage was its location. The location for this cottage was ideal. Fox Lake was a mere walk away and so was the restaurant Dockers, which we highly recommend. Val’s supermarket was just a walk away and so were a half dozen places to grab a bite to eat. Our family had intended to head to Chicago to sightsee and when we found out that the train station was just a walk away, well needless to say we were ecstatic. The convenience of having such a travel option was superb. We easily got to Chicago and back without a problem. Lastly we would like to mention how awesome Kirk was to us. He took the time to walk us through the cottage and allowed u to contact him throughout our stay if we needed anything. This place is truly beautiful and all of our family that stayed there gave it two thumbs up.
Spacious, comfortable house. Great location!
Kirk was very accommodating on getting us in with extremely short notice. My husband recently got a new job and we are looking for a house in the area. We live in Wisconsin so we were looking for somewhere to stay with our 3 children while we were house hunting for the week. The house was perfect! It is very spacious and clean. We could walk to downtown Fox Lake and driving to various areas to look at houses was convenient. This is a great house and we highly recommend it!
