Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 6 Sleeps

Formally an apple packing shed, Shady Acres has all of the amenities of a modern home, with a rustic

feel. Located between the historic towns of Julian and Santa Ysabel in the foothills of San Diego

County, this unique home awaits you and your family for a relaxing get-away in the mountains.

Wonderful house, beautiful furniture. We stayed for two weeks in July 8 2015. Brandi, her daughters, and parents are wonderful. The baked goods on arrival are yummy.

Amazing weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was the PERFECT weekend retreat for my birthday! We came up with 2 other couples, and 2 toddlers. The place is super cozy and very well decorated. We cooked king crab and grilled steaks and had everything we needed. We took my 1 year old photos on the property. They turned out AMAZING! Brandi (the owner) was easy to contact for any questions. She was so accommodating and friendly. Thank you Brandi! We can't wait to come back! You will NOT be disappointed!

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Shady Acres was a great getaway. The home is beautiful inside and out. Modern kitchen with full size stove/oven. The location was great, not too far from Julian. I would recommend this rental for anyone and I will pass on to family and friends looking for a great place to relax and to enjoy the great outdoors. Thank you Brandi for a great birthday getaway. We will be back.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

This house is so beautiful,we had a great time. The property is well maintained and we had everything we needed. It was such a treat to walk in the house on a cold February day and find the house nice and cozy with the fireplace on and soft music as we walked in. Our family can't wait to go back.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Looks like a model home inside - nice furnishings and decor, clean, and well-maintained. The property is right on the highway so it's easy to get in and out quickly. At first we were concerned about the traffic noise from the highway, but once inside, it's very quiet and peaceful. This is a great place for families with children since there are games and videos for them to enjoy. But even our family with grown sons enjoyed the amenities.

Having a well-equipped kitchen came in very handy on a Sunday morning when we decided to cook our own breakfast burritos and bagels before heading out to the California Wolf Center(15 minutes away). Julian is a 7-minute drive away, and Wynola Pizza (a few blocks up the road) was good for takeout.

We appreciated Brandi's quick response to our inquiries. She was great to work with, and we appreciate the effort she has put into making Shady Acres a great place for us to stay.
