About the Owner

My Husband, Bruce and I, Elaine, grew up in Perry, Fl, about 20 miles from Keaton Beach. Our families and friends spent every summer here at the Beaches, swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and just having fun! When later we met and married in 1982, we moved to Fernandina Beach, FL. Bruce was a building contractor there and we built close to one hundred homes and businesses during that 25 years. We built a home here at Cedar Island, about two miles from Keaton, and moved here in 2007.

Bruce loves to fish and we love running Big Daddy's. We've met some great people since we started this new adventure and I know we will meet many more.

Fun at Big Daddy's!!

  • 5 of 5

The owner and her husband were very kind an accommodating before we ever arrived. Our party grew from 3 to 6,I phoned ahead and the owner said no problem! She even offered sleeping bags and padding because all other accomadations were booked or the weekend.

Once we finally got to Keaton the tide was perfect to go straight out and we fished until 5pm. When we went to check in we found the owner tending to her beautiful yard and as welcoming in person as she was on the phone. Our room was beautiful as was the view! You can feel the love if the hand craftsmanship as you walk up to the beautiful home. The details are not overlooked in any part of this great getaway!

We rose to fish some more and didnt feel pressured to check out by a certain time. The fellows in our crew chatted with Mr. Owner for quite sometime upon the return and confirmed our already wonderful thoughts of the couple that owned this place. Great people!

In case I haven't conveyed it already, WE LOVED THE PLACE!!

We are definitely staying here each and every time we visit Keaton!

Thank you so much for a wonderful place to bring my family!

Location

From the Owner

My husband and I were raised 20 miles from here in the town of Perry, FL. Our families would often spend summers here at the beaches. We both have such good memories here, we thought coming back here would be a wonderful idea, and it was.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : at 25 Miles Nearest Barpub : at 5 Miles Nearest Golf : at 25 Miles Nearest Restaurant : at 3 Miles Nearest Beach : at 2.5 Miles Car: recommended

We are two and a half miles from the boat ramp at Keaton Beach. At the end of Keaton there is a sandy beach, perfect for children to swim and teenagers to sunbathe. There are covered picnic tables, a pier for fishing, showers and bathrooms. Everything you need for a day at the Beach.

If you bring a boat, there is fishing, scalloping (during scallop season), water skiing, knee boarding, swimming, etc. Perfect for jet skiing. There also is a kayak and paddle board rental 5miles away, just google "Walter B's", for that info.

Another great place to go is, Hagan's Cove, it's on the Gulf, a public area with covered picnic tables, facilities, and an observatory, a good place to go crabbing for blue crabs.

We are also, 20 minutes from the Steinhatchee River and the small unique town of Steinhatchee. There is a boat ramp for fresh water fishing on the river, a public park by the Steinhatchee Falls with rapids for canoeing and kayaking.

Campfires and star-gazing is the best here, with the wide-open sky and plenty of privacy. Bird-watching and nature observation, can't be missed, over-looking the marsh, out your back door. Many creeks, streams, rivers and canals, in the area, to explore.

No stop-lights within 25 miles!

We are located at 21240 Egret Ln, Perry, FL, US, 32348. We have rooms for rent, on 1.5 acres of manicured property. The rooms are with their own entrance and deck, remote control A/C, Direct TV, and bathrooms. Downstairs has a fish cleaning table, comfortable sitting area, large frig and ice machine. We are on stilts with under house parking. The rooms are attached to a large house, where the owner lives, down a hall two locked doors away.

The cottage/camp is about 100 feet away. It has aloft bedroom with a queen and a twin. Downstairs there is a twin and sleepable couch in Living area. There is a large kitchen equipped with everything you would need

Amenities

From the Owner

There are no stop lights in this whole area. It is very laid-back and relaxing. The people here are amazingly friendly and everyone knows one another. It is safe and no worries of crime. But if you do want to go to a city, Tallahassee and Gainesville are only an hour and half away. Great university towns, with many restaurants and plenty of shopping. Tallahassee, of course, is the capital, with many historical museums and the capital buildings to visit. The Beaches now have a new bike trail from Keaton Bch ramp to Dark Island, completion date is June 24th, 2016. It's 8 feet wide with asphalt, a great and safe place for riding. We also have a kayak rental, Deadman's Floats. The Keaton Bch area, at the point, has been renovated, there is all new sand and fencing, it looks great and there will be a Hot Dog Stand there again. A new store just opened on Beach Road, with many new selections of food and drinks. Of course, the wonderful seafood restaurants in Steinhatchee and Perry only 20 miles away.
