Condo on the green
Renting this property was easy through VRBO, and the owner kindly allowed us to come in one night early. In my experience with VRBO, we never meet the owner. It is an honor system. I loved the bird bath and the birds on the green. A nice
quiet neighborhood, but the owner insisted on bringing a laundry basket full of items we did not need rather than meeting me at a local point. She wanted to walk her dogs on the green and it felt like,"check us out," questioned everything we brought with us. This condo is definitely worn and appears to be outfitted from thrift stores. Sets and sets of dishes, at least 30 wine glasses. The walk in closet jammed with pillows, decorative pillows, and blankets. One of the guest robes in the closet had permanent stains on it. We didn't use her pillows, we brought our own. The mattress cover looked new. The bed was comfortable, the initial set of sheets was nice, but the second pair, threadbare with a hole in them, the towels were worn but serviceable. None of the furniture is comfortable. The WiFi was good. The kitchen chairs were rickety, cloth seats, one of them had a badly stained. Don't rent this condo if you have an electric car, she worried about the cost to plug it in. Don't bring a motorcycle. The only safe place to park it would be in the back, she didn't like the, "aesthetics" of that. When she came by again, I thought she was going to walk right into the bedroom, "to check the smoke alarm." Ultimately, we asked for privacy for the rest of our stay. When we left, we swept, vacuumed, and laundered everything with the exception of the last set of sheets which I put in the laundry. I got a message from the owner, said she was missing a set of pillows and a mattress cover. When I told her I didn't have them she insisted I must have. I insisted I did not take them, she pushed on, said her cleaning lady will attest that they are missing. I found this frustrating and accusatory, whether she meant it that way or not. We did not use her pillows at all and we used only one mattress cover while we were there. It was on the bed when we left. We have no need to steal used standard pillows and mattress covers. I invited her to send the police to check out my nice linens and king size sleep gram pillows. She said she wasn't worried about it, but she felt strongly enough to send several messages and invoke the testimony of her cleaning lady as confirmation. Disruptive, disappointing, to say the least.
It took me some time to respond to this without anger. My furniture is not from a thrift store. The lazyboy sofa has never had any complaints. I have brand new sheets and towels available mixed in with some used ones. I certainly respect privacy. I have rented this unit - and improved upon - since 15 years and never had an unkind review. Problem here was that I was objecting to the electric car with cables going across the yard and a dilapidated motor home parked on the next door empty lot which the guests were rehabilitating plus a motor bike parked in the patio visible from the golf course. All this was not acceptable and I did not renew the stay. After move out I was missing some pillows and one mattress cover (I have always two to exchange). Instead I found one very smelly pillow. I simply asked about it and she became totally unglued. Enough said, I am sorry that Deborah found it necessary after abusing my hospitality to write such a negative review.
Very nice place in Prescott Valley
We had a very nice stay in the Prescott Valley. The accommodation was as described, and the location being right on the Golf Course was very convenient for us. We stayed for the month of March, and it was very relaxing. The weather was a bit of a surprise in the 2nd week as it was cooler than expected. However, that seems to have been the case all over Arizona in 2019. Edie was a very gracious host.
Really enjoyed our stay!
My husband and I enjoyed our winter stay in this cozy condo. My husband enjoyed watching the golfers go by daily and the condo is close to the club house so we went golfing in the afternoons when it was warmer. The area is very quiet but is also close to shopping and restaurants.
I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself! I would love to have you visit again.
cozy and easy
We had a comfortable stay in Edie's little house. Might be able to do so again in the future.
Thank you, Margit! I hope you got your money by now?
Wishing you a great Fall!
great little rental
We stayed one month in this condo. Loved the location, really nice back patio backing up to the golf course. Felt so open and private at the same time. Nice little fountain and bird bath. My husband enjoyed watching the golfers and birds. Edie is a very gracious hostess. The condo is well stocked with everything you would need, paper products, cookware, soap, detergent, even some basic food items. Lots of closet space and drawers to store clothing and all the stuff we bought to bring back to our home in Mexico! I believe the condo is a good value for the rent charged and will definitely return. Thank you Edie for a "comfortable home away from home!"
Golf course condo.
We chose this condo because of its convenient location on Prescott CC and favorable prior reviews. Kitchen is well stocked with very nice quality utensils and tableware. Cute patio with comfortable wicker chairs. Bed (queen-size) very comfortable. Linens outdated, faded and pretty well used. Closet full of extra linens and not much shelf space left to use.
Living room furniture needs replacement - not one comfortable piece of furniture. Sofa bed and two chairs looked as if they had seen better days. Window blinds bent. Wifi very slow - you will share wifi with neighbor. TV station selections minimal - unless you like all the info-mercial channels.
This would be a very nice vacation rental if owner makes a few changes.
I am very surprised to receive such a bad review - the first! Especially since it is my sincere desire to make everyones stay as comfortable as possible. The large walk in closed serves to hang cloths - most of the shelving serves to store linens, towels, paper supply, games etc. - but there is some shelving for personal use. The apartment has a good sized high boy with large drawers, a night stand with drawers, a cabinet in the living room with drawers and a storage room for larger items like golf clubs etc. As to the "faded and well used" linens - I checked and found only one set that was less then new. I purchase my linens at Costco and the "faded design" seems to be the look - certainly not from over use! In fact I delivered a newly purchased set while the guests providing the review were in residence. Blinds: only one slate at the very end covered by a curtain was slightly bend. Spots in carpet: The carpet cleaner reviewed and said it was just some shading. The carpet gets regularly cleaned. The 2 leather chairs, one reclining, are certainly comfortable according to a new guest reviewing the condo. The sofa is a La-Z boy queen size sleeper sofa which is extremely comfortable. While the furniture in the living room is not new, they are certainly more then serviceable and in good condition. The wifi is no longer shared. I offered to upgrade TV channels for the same amount that the server charges me - the guests declined. Maybe this was the real reason for the review!
The cottage location is ideal for golfers. You don't need a car to go to the tee-off - it is in easy
walking distance and so is the clubhouse with a comfortable restaurant/bar and great views and good
food at a reasonable prize. Pro-shop, library are also available. If you venture into Prescott (easy
20 minute drive to downtown) you can experience the courthouse plaza with antique shops,
restaurants, galleries and not to forget 'Whiskey Row' with it's historic bars, western music and
the world famous rodeos (Prescott claims to have the first rodeo ever). Bands are playing in front
of the courthouse, art and craft fairs are frequently held, the 'Old West' is featured in the
Charlotte Hall Museum. The whole atmosphere is reminiscent of Norman Rockwell. There are lakes to
fish and for boating, walks in the pines, horse back riding nearby, hiking in the mountains.
Prescott Vally has frequent events in the sports arena, large cinema center and many restaurants.
