If you are not reading the listings you inquire on, then you are doing yourself a disservice, as well as the rental property owner, and you may be unhappy when you arrive to your rental.

After providing properties for many many years, we consider part of our responsibility is to educate travelers, in addition to providing a space for them to stay in while they are away from home. The vast majority of travelers, in today's rental market, are new to the private property rental process and may not know how to ensure they find a rental that truly fits their needs and expectations.

TAKE YOUR TIME/BE INFORMED

1.) We know it's easy and fast to just skim through listings. Planning your travel itinerary and rental property can be a daunting task. When inquiring on large volumes of listings, it's easy to get confused. Make sure you understand what you are renting and that you have not mixed up your listings. Always ask questions. DO NOT make assumptions about anything as you inquire on each listing during your rental property search. Do not assume that rental property owners know what is important to you or what your expectations are. Every traveler's needs and expectations are different.

WHY HAVE YOU NOT HEARD BACK FROM US WHEN YOU WANTED A RESPONSE?

2.) Sometimes our inbox gets swamped or we have to take a few days away from reservations and it's just not possible for us to get to all of the emails.

RATE INFORMATION

3.) Our Rates Range from $89-$225 per night. Most reservations fall in the middle of the range. Rate calculations are dependent on many factors.

RENTAL EXPECTATIONS

4.) We do not provide rentals to help travelers have the perfect vacation. We are not here to "Serve Others" like hotel staff would. We primarily provide rentals to travelers who need temporary housing for relocations, work assignments, and medical emergencies. HomeAway, and its affiliated companies, give travelers the visual expectation that they will receive top tier luxury rentals and vacations by using their listing website. We do not provide a high-end rental. We provide budget/economy rentals that are comfortable and clean. If you have high expectations, our rentals will not meet your needs. We would rather have our guests come in with low expectations and arrive to their property pleasantly surprised, than come in with high expectations and be unhappy. Over the years, more than 90% of our guests have been very satisfied with their rental experience.

The following is our Listing Description: Very Stylish and Comfortable 1 bedroom suite in La Jolla just on the edge of UCSD. Quiet, relaxing, and within a very quiet community. Pool, hot tub, gym, and more. Full Amenities. Close to bus lines and shopping center. 1min to UCSD, 5min to beaches and Scripps Aquarium, 10min to Sea World, and 15min to San Diego Zoo.

La Jolla is one of the nicest areas in all of San Diego. We are approximately 5 minutes to the La Jolla Beaches and 'The Village'. These beaches are definitely the most sought after beaches in San Diego. Our rental property is only 2 blocks from hundreds of shops, restaurants, and several banks and grocery stores. We have other listings at this same property.

SUMMERTIME RENTAL INQUIRIES

5.) Attention Summer Travelers: If you are requesting a reservation between the dates of July 1-August 31 please DO NOT send more than 1 email inquiry for ALL of our properties combined. Please do not flood our inbox with inquiries and additional emails if we have not responded to you yet. Summer Rates: Mid-June to Mid-September Rates are $132/nt and upwards. If you are open to both one bedroom and two bedroom rental options you may state so in your inquiry notes. We have other HomeAway listings at this rental property. Thank you for your cooperation.

***Our rental properties book out very quickly. The best deals can be found during the off-season (October 1-February 28) not including holidays.***

Rates vary depending on dates requested, number of nights reserved, and number of guests, etc.

A/C and W/D

6.) Our rental has Air Conditioning. Most apartments in San Diego do not have central air conditioning. Air Conditioning is only needed a few months of the year, usually mid summer to early fall, and on the rare occasion when there is a heat wave. If you are elderly or have a medical condition that requires central air conditioning, please email us with that specific requirement. We use very powerful large portable Air Conditioning Unit(s) that remain in our rental year round and have worked very well for many years for our guests.

If you have a medical condition or special circumstance that requires a Washer/Dryer to be inside your rental, rather than having access to the Laundry Facility onsite, please email us with that specific requirement. Please ask us about laundry if that is important to you.

Awesome Condo in La Jolla

My BMX cycling teammate and I recently came to San Diego for training and we enjoyed a great stay at this comfortable condo. We have been travelling year round for the past 3 years actively training and competing, and have stayed at many hotels and furnished rentals. The La Jolla location was excellent for us with everything we needed like groceries and restaurants very close by. The condo was very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It had a great kitchen for cooking our own meals. The complex was very nice with a great pool area to relax at when were weren't training or out exploring the nearby beaches. Heather was very accommodating in making sure we had a great stay and that everything thing was easily accessible and set for our arrival. The condo seems like it would also be a great place to stay for families and couples traveling. We will definitely be re-booking to stay again when we return to San Diego in the future.

My vacation in La Jolla

The studio we rented was nice, had a very nice full kitchen where my husband and I made all our meals. Kitchen was set up with the basic salt/pepper etc.. the dishwasher was a joke, it was ncie looking but didnt clean a damn thing, actually the dishes were cleaner when I put them in, then when I took them out. Most of the dishes in the cabinets were pretty dirty so first thing I did was rewash everything in the kitchen thoroughly.

Bathroom was nice but I think for as long as we stayed there should have been more toliet paper, we only received two. The bedroom was nice and had a very comfortable bed with lots of extra sheets and comforters in the closet. having a washer and dryer in the unit was great, but no laundry detergent was available. The Tv I thought was way to small, and the remote only worked half the time. The DVD/CD player only played DVD not CD/s and we had to try a few times before the DVD player would even play the DVD. You get absolutly no cell phone reception in the unit and only a very small chance you could even get it in the courtyard in front of our unit. Partking was a joke, All week long I tried to park in my spot but was unable because a trailer was parked in one of the spots next to me and it was over on the line into my spot, and then a huge LAnd Rover was parked in the other spot next to me, little to say I couldnt fit my car in my spot. So then when I tried to park elsewhere in spots without numbers I received a do not park here, guess it was someones spot but how could I know there wasnt even a number.

Other than that the Lady we dealt with Jessica was a delite, very helpful and polite, she gave us a great deal and when we come back into town we will definantly look this place up again.

Owner's Response: We apreciate that this reviewer gave us 4 stars, and would like to go ahead and address some of the issues she brought forth. The dishwashers in our rentals are some of the most expensive dishwashers on the market. What we discovered was that the detergent we were supplying renters was not working very well. We have since then changed to a better detergent with built in spot remover and the dishes are sparkling. We do not wash dishes in the cupboard between guests. That is the guests responsibility to wash and put away kitchen items they use. I believe the dishes in the cupboard had spots on them and this may be what she was referring to. I can't imagine that some other guest had put every single dish back in the cupboard filthy, as she stated. We do atleast give a quick look to make sure items are not missing, and I do not recall in our inspection that "everything in the cupboard was filthy". This guest was staying less than 1 week and was provided 3 very large and full rolls of toilet paper. For 2 adults, in less than a week that should have been sufficient. She could have easliy called us up to request more, but she did not. Many rentals do not provide Laundry Detergent, we do not state that we do. We could have easily replaced the TV remote and DVD player if she called us, but she did not. There are only a few cell providers that get poor cell reception in this area, the vast majority have reception without issues. We have only had one other person mention that parking was difficult and they had an suv. There is street parking and also assigned parking. Most of our assigned parking spaces have plenty of room for parking, even some for suv's. Before all of our guests check-in we make it a point to tell them that if they have any problems or questions to call us, any time day or night. We also leave it in writing inside the rental, with our phone number. We never received any calls from her, and it is sad because most of the issues or problems that she felt she was having we could have corrected for her immediately. We strive to provide exceptional service, above and beyond what other vacation rental managers provide, and hope that our clients have a relaxing and enjoyable time while renting with us. So far, this has been the majority of the feedback we have received from our guests. Now the challenge is in getting those people to get online and write reviews as well ;-)
