J & J's Top Five Favorite Things at the "Tranquil Waterfront Cottage":

1. Being greeted at sundown by two Bard Owls

2. Nice yard for our pooches to play (and swim!)

3. Tasteful and eclectic interior decorations

4. Sitting outside by the peaceful, quiet, serene, private, TRANQUIL Harris River.

5. Great location with countless activities within a 30 minute drive.

One more... 6. Green House Bistro (around the corner)

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Just what we were looking for.

Cottage is clean as a whistle and very nicely appointed . owners live next door and very pleasant and accommodating. Power went out for a couple hours one night and he came by with a flashlight for us and told us where the oil lamps were. There are a couple of kayaks, a paddle boat and a canoe. nice patio and bbq grill. very relaxing enjoying the sounds of birds singing and fish jumping in clear canal. enjoyed our short stay

Great spot to relax

  • 4 of 5

Wish we would have had more time. This place is perfect for a relaxing getaway. We were in the area for a wedding so had limited time but we did stay a few nights. My husband enjoyed the waterfront for fishing and just watching the wildlife. I'm a thrift shopper so spent much of my time scouring the area for thrift shops--and I found some good ones! The cottage is quaint and decorated in antiques which I thought was charming. We found the bed to be super comfortable! The fenced in yard was wonderful for our little dog. The only thing missing was an oven/stove that some might miss--but we didn't mind at all. We used the gas grill and the microwave and did just fine. There's a small fridge in the cottage but there's another full size fridge/freezer enclosed off the back patio. Bathroom toiletries were a nice touch--as were the DVD selections. The hosts are next door if you need anything and are very helpful and friendly but don't bother you. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolute wonderful weekend at the cottage. The home was the perfect space for us to have a weekend away from home. We enjoyed getting to kayak and spend time outside. Dennis and Debra were very accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be back!
