Karl & Erika Hoehne
Why Karl & Erika Hoehne chose Seneca
We have always been drawn to the water and used to camp frequently on the lake. We would load up our boat, tent and dog and spend the weekends decompressing from stressful jobs in Asheville. When our first child was born, we realized very quickly that tent camping was not as enjoyable anymore and decided it was time to set some more permanent roots. This house was begging for us to reinvent it. So, up for the challenge, we bought this diamond in the rough. We lovingly took it apart and over the first few years spent our weekends putting it back together. It is the perfect blend of cozy rooms, open views and comforts of home.
What makes this House unique
This cozy little cottage has everything you need. It has enough space but not too much that you feel "disconnected" from your family. Deep waters and little boat traffic make it the perfect place to spend the day in the water swimming, floating or having jumping contests off the dock. If you start to feel a little water logged, enjoy an afternoon nap on the hammock under the canopy of the trees or challenge the kids to a friendly competitive game of horseshoes. Taking an outside shower after a day in the sun is the perfect way to wrap up a long day on the lake.

We really enjoyed staying at the lake house! Very quiet neighborhood. The beds are comfy and the house is set up very nicely. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the kitchen ware you would ever need so that is actually quite nice. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again.
Can’t believe how much I loved this gem!
This was a last minute plan for a holiday weekend. We had never been to the area and knew nothing about it. We booked this place on the pics and description only and wasn’t sure what we were going to walk into. I must say I immediately fell in love with this home and this little town! It was the perfect get away for us and our friends. All things scenic are in driving distance and the view from the deck is amazing to have every morning! Erika was fabulous when we needed a little help! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

Secluded lake cottage
Wonderful location on Lake Keowee! The house is perfect for relaxing by the lake. It is bigger on inside than it initially looks. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and overall it’s a great place to stay on the lake. The driveway is at the end of a narrow lane but once you figure out where the house actually is it is a breeze. The canoe and paddle boat were fun but I would recommend renting kayaks to really enjoy the lake.
