Our location is convenient and easily accessible off of Hwy 515 yet very private and quiet. The cabin is kept clean and fresh. Entire cabin is wood (no drywall) for a true rustic feel and downstairs has been renovated in white pine. The bedroom downstairs is furnished with a King size log bed, dresser and TV with DVD/VCR combo. Attached with master bedroom is a second bathroom (shower only). The entertainment area has a wet bar with microwave and refrigerator, TV with DVD/VCR and air hockey/pool table. About Doug & Jeanne Lindberg

We have loved the mountains and decided to buy in the Blue Ridge area because of all it has to offer - easy access, shops, hiking, tubing, rafting, antiquing, vineyards and wine tastings, festivals and so much more.

Doug & Jeanne Lindberg purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Doug & Jeanne Lindberg chose Blue Ridge

We fell in love with the cozy, comfort of this cabin. It is very easy to get to with a four lane highway right up to the turn to go up the mountain. Once you leave the highway it is like being in another world - quiet, peaceful.

We have tried to make our cabin a home away from home and provide all the comforts of home.

What makes this cabin unique

Easy access to the cabin as well as down the driveway to park. Quiet and serene yet close to many activities, shops, local events, etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Good morning, Jeanne! Thank you SO much for opening your beautiful home to us. Our only complaint was that we could not stay longer to enjoy it! Thank you for permitting us to extend the checkout time on Sunday - the extra 2 hours in the morning were really great. We absolutely loved the cabin, and will definitely stay here again. Once I have more time, I will put together a review for the VRBO site - can't say enough nice things about you and your lovely home! Thanks again. Heather

Comfort, Cozy, Quiet

  • 5 of 5

Away, but not too far away from it all. Fishing Bear Cabin was located in a neat area close to Blue Ridge and Ellijay... and much more. A week was not enough!

The cabin community on the side of a quiet mountain made for a relaxing vacation. Read a book from the library, had some family bouts in ping pong, checkers, and pool, even a couple of board games when the weather didn't want to cooperate!

When the weather was accepting, Fall Creek Falls, tubing down the Toccoa, and a drive out to raft the Nantahala River made for a great time. Morganton Point Rec Area looked like fun but... the rain decided for us to try that next time.

Benton Mackaye Trail runs alongside the property! They even have maps and books on the trail at the home. And that is what it felt like at Fishing Bear Cabin, that you have been invited into a friend's home.

Oh and did I mention the covered LED lit hot tub and the family of deer that knew hunting wasn't allowed hanging out behind cabin?

Cozy retreat in the perfect place!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had an amazing trip at your cabin! We wanted to visit Blueridge for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed kayaking and trips to downtown Blueridge and downtown Helen, Georgia. We also had the chance to walk right up close to a baby deer right near the cabin! I have to boast also about how kind and hospitable you were to us! We had to postpone our trip due to a last minute illness with our daughter and you were so kind and so quick to help us get our trip rescheduled. Thank you again for letting us enjoy your perfect cabin!!

Very nice cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice, well-equipped, clean and quiet cabin, with a gravel road for walks, relaxing hot tub and well-furnished porches. Almost feels like staying in a tree house, with lots of birds to watch and deer in the woods. Good paved road most of the way to the cabin. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Owner's Response: Hi Linda, Thanks for taking the time to write a nice review and Doug and I are very glad you enjoyed your stay. The roads do make a difference as I've traveled some real rough and terrifying drop off routes in the mountains when we were looking to buy. This was actually a selling point for me! Thanks in advance for any recommendations and if you ever wish to come back to the area, please look us up. Best, Jeanne

LOVED it!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was exactly what we needed! It was so cozy inside & the porches were great to hangout on anytime of day. One evening we got to see 6 deer moving thru the woods & the next evening we saw 3 little pigs run thru! We watched squirrels play in the treetops & woodpeckers too! We used the grill for supper one night & found everything we needed to enjoy the meal. This place is great, we'll definitely be back soon. Thank u for sharing ur beautiful spot in the mountains with us 😊

Owner's Response: Wow, the three little pigs is a first! So glad you enjoyed your stay and got to see the wonderful wildlife while enjoying the decks. The new bottom roofed deck has been a nice addition for us allowing grilling, hot tub usage and just hanging out in all weather. Thank you for taking the time to write this great review and we hope you'll consider returning to Fishing Bear Cabin for your next stay. Thank you sincerely for your business. Best, Jeanne and Doug Lindberg

Absolutely PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Fishing Bear Cabin for an anniversary weekend. This cabin truly is home away from home. Doing and Jeanne have everything you could possibly need for your time in the mountains. The furniture is comfortable, the beds are great and the hot tub is heavenly. We spent our days in Blue Ridge, where there is more than enough to do. If you're a wine drinker do yourself a favor and go for a tasting at Serenberry Vineyards in nearby Morganton. The wine is great and the people that work there are fantastic! Evenings spent on either of the decks at Fishing Bear are quiet and relaxing. The kitchen is perfect for cooking any size meal you want. We would recommend this property to anyone with absolutely no reservations. We loved it and we'll definitely be back!
