About Doug & Jeanne Lindberg

We have loved the mountains and decided to buy in the Blue Ridge area because of all it has to offer - easy access, shops, hiking, tubing, rafting, antiquing, vineyards and wine tastings, festivals and so much more.

Doug & Jeanne Lindberg purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Doug & Jeanne Lindberg chose North Georgia Mountains

We fell in love with the cozy, comfort of this cabin. It is very easy to get to with a four lane highway right up to the turn to go up the mountain. Once you leave the highway it is like being in another world - quiet, peaceful.

We have tried to make our cabin a home away from home and provide all the comforts of home.

What makes this cabin unique

Easy access to the cabin as well as down the driveway to park. Quiet and serene yet close to many activities, shops, local events, etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi guys!

I finally went into the Home Away app to leave a review and realized that I let time get away and it has shut me out from the review section. Just wanted you guys to know that we had a splendid time and love the house! It was truly one of the best cabin rental experiences I've had up in Blue Ridge. The communication from you guys was exceptional and I have already recommended your place to multiple friends for the future. I'm excited to see what's in store when you complete the pub table on the stump out back and when you cover the tub area. It's going to be excellent!

Talk with you guys again soon. Hope to be renting from you again this fall. :-)

Fishing Bear is a charming, well equipped, clean and super comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Fishing Bear! Winding up the mountain road to the cabin gets you in the right frame of mind with peaceful woods and beautiful views. The cabin is awesome! Two floors of living spaces with every kind of entertainment you may need. We had great weather and loved the deck and screened porch. Beds are super comfortable and baths are clean with plenty of hot water. Loved the kitchen and large dining table. Best of all is the charming decor. Bears on quilts, walls, shelves, shower curtains, etc. are there to welcome and amuze - each one was fun to discover and we appreciated the obvious love the owners have for their precious cabin. We love it too! Thank you Jeanne and Doug for your amazing hospitality.

Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Home away from home. Everything provided. Just bring clothes. Love the new tongue and groove covered grill and hot tub deck. Need to update photos to feature it! Hated leaving. Blessed by lovely rain on the metal roof last night of our stay. Back soon.

Best stay ever!

  • 5 of 5

All the amenities of home and then some! The setting is beautiful and serene. It rained the whole time we were there but it was not an issue because there was so much to do inside. Movies, games galore! Tank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice remarks. So sorry you had a rainy stay but glad you found lots to do. We are in the process of putting a roof over the hot tub deck to make use of the tub easier on those rainy days. We hope you'll look up if you ever decide to visit the area again. Warmest regards, Jeanne and Doug

Wonderful long weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is a great property. Clean and very fun for our 13 year old triplets. We only really missed not having an outdoor fire pit.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a nice time - our commercial insurance won't cover an outdoor fire pit at this time because our lot is so wooded but we will look into finding an acceptable area. Thanks for the suggestion and nice review. New hot tub coming 6/9 and bottom deck to be roofed. Might work with an outdoor fireplace instead of pit - we'll check into it.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Comfy, well equipped cabin. Everything we needed was there (except umbrellas!) the stairs going down to the "den" are steep; we used the outdoor path to the downstairs. The best TV is downstairs, so at night that may be where you want to hang out. Upstairs TVs are very small. Other than that, the place is great! Clean, comfortable and beautiful, inside and out.

Owner's Response: Thanks Kathy for the nice review. Sorry about the small TV's, honestly we never turned a TV on for the first 5-6 years we owned the cabin! We mainly put them in for renter convenience but equipped downstairs for rainy or snowy days with hundreds of DVDs and books and a 50" TV. We will certainly take your comments into consideration for increasing the viewing size upstairs. We've installing a new hot tub at the end of May or early June and soon to be roofing the outside deck downstairs for more covered seating. Spending time outside in the mountains is such a joy - void of pests and humidity. Please keep us in mind if you're up our way again. Warmest regards, Jeanne and Doug Lindberg

Very quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great place to spend a few days in a nice area. Well equipped, spacious cabin - far enough off the main road to be quiet and dark at night, but close enough to be convenient to Blue Ridge, Ellijay, etc.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive review - so glad you enjoyed your time in the mountains. Would love to have you stay again if you're planning another trip to the area. We've got some new changes coming...a new hot tub arriving early this summer and additional covered outside area to be constructed for expanded outdoor living. We hope you'll think about a return visit. Warm regards, Doug and Jeanne
