About Sharon McNair

I am a retired Geriatric Social Worker and have had this property since 1979. I have had the privilege of living in Laguna Beach since 1963 and love the town, neighborhood and area, so when my guests ask about the history, of the area I love relaying this information. There is also several books in the cottage pertaining to the history of Laguna Beach and area.

Sharon McNair purchased this cottage in 1979

Why Sharon McNair chose Orange County

This property is an ideal place for a vacation because the neighborhood is very quiet, there are two parking places in front, and guests can feel they have a small home all to themselves. They can walk to the beach, or a mountain trail or just puruse the neighborhood and feel very safe. The cottage has all the amenities they could want and is close to excellent restaurants

What makes this cottage unique

The most unique aspect of this property is that it is not attached to any other structure so my guests feel the have their own private house. they can walk the three beautiful public beaches and It is also in a very quiet and safe neighborhood away from all the traffic and noise of the city. The patio, yard, and deck provides a relaxing atmosphere, and the weather is very mild.

Great little cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was a cozy little cottage that was perfect for what we needed - a place near the water that served as a home base while we were in town for a wedding. Sharon provided everything that we could have needed (iron/board, beach towels, tea, etc) and was available if there was something we needed that we didn't have already. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place while they're in town.

Lovely friendly beach cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Lovely welcoming cottage with welcoming owners who live next door. Property as described. Stayed as a family of 4. Bed comfortable, 2 kids fine on sofa bed. Kitchen had everything we needed, as did bathroom. Loved the veranda and garden - was never too hot as breeze flowed nicely through the house (even when it was 90oF+ one night). Kids loved all the board games too, which kept us all nicely occupied! Great location - stroll to the beach and close to the trolley bus and great that the owners had umbrellas and beach chairs/ towels to borrow. The only improvement I would say is that while I was very happy to 'earn' my $75 cleaning fee back, there were a few places in the house that needed a deeper clear, such as the outdoor furniture and kitchen cupboards etc. That being said I do have high standards! Thanks so much Sharon for making us so welcome - we'd happily come and stay again and recommend you to others.

Cozy cottage, great location

  • 4 of 5

We loved the cuteness of the cottage and Sharon was warm and welcoming. We 3 ladies shared the space and it was comfortable. Nice to have a little kitchenette for morning coffee. The bedroom downstairs has a low ceiling, so anyone taller than 5'2" would have difficulty standing upright. At 5'3", I could stand upright, but felt compelled to stoop over to avoid the beams. The lanai was spacious and relaxing to sit in, enjoy the garden and catch up with friends.

The location was 4 miles south of the Laguna Beach downtown area so quieter and less traffic. One can still access the trolley on PCH to get to and from the downtown area.

Nice little cottage with a great patio

  • 4 of 5

The best part of this property is the charming deck and patio area. It's a great location that is walking distance to a beach, community garden and a fabulous Mexican restaurant. The cottage is tiny but good for two. I stayed there for two nights with my sister. The bedroom ceiling is very low and there's not good water pressure in the small shower. But those minor things aside the cottage is great. Just as advertised. Sharon was there to greet me and was friendly and helpful. She provided us with bagels and cream cheese and coffee. Cottage is very clean and in a cool neighborhood.

A cute little home in a beautiful location!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed staying here during our trip to Laguna Beach. It was in a really good location close to the beaches and close to many great restaurants and shops. The only downside is the basement (the basement) was really short. I had to duck if I was to stand up down there

Nice quiet location

  • 4 of 5

This was a perfect fit for our stay last weekend. Everything was just as listed. Renters must be aware of the low ceiling in the bedroom below and the tiny bathroom...both of which were listed as such. Many of the original cottages in Laguna were one room affairs with single thickness walls and the barest of accommodations. I just imagined what this place was like before adding the lower floor (bedroom) to what was above. For me, It was like staying in a classic beach house/cottage. The beach is a stretch to walk to since this place is up a steep drive (as is most of Laguna Beach south of the main beach) but if you're looking for a quiet, open air cottage experience....give this a try!
