Fripp Island, Newhaven Village
First off, it is a beautiful condo. Well furnished and very comfortable. The location is at the tip of the island. It's very gorgeous. The description says low tide beach access. At high tide the ocean comes more than halfway up the steps. At lowtide, the water recedes extremely far out. There are no waves for boogie boarding at all. You can explore and find all kinds of cool stuff. If you want a normal beach with waves,I reccomend going to the beach club in the middle of the island. This is where we went for waves and nightly walks. Also, you need amenity cards (50$ a card for each person over 13 for one week) for everything. Literally, we went to Bonito boat house to eat and my 21 year old son had to go back across the island to get his card even though we all had ours. If you want to see any of the 32 beach access points,or park basically anywhere, I suggest getting a golf cart. Sutcliffe golf cars dont charge a delivery fee if you rent on Fripp. They also dont show you anything about it so watch out for that. I had never stayed on this island or ever stayed on a resort island. It was a new experience. The island is beautiful, deer everywhere and they are quiet friendly. Wildlife is abundant. Alligators are in every pond. We stayed for 10 days. If I had had the island explained to me better I might have had a better time. My kids had a blast. Our normal beach is North Topsail Island . It's got the small beach town feel without all the snobby cards and prevention. Fripp was an experience, it was beautiful. The activity center was excellent for the kids but be prepared to spend money. Everything is quiet expensive on this island. Grocery stores are about 30-45 minutes away off island. There is a tiny mart on island with small and expensive stuff.
Thank you for your review. I appreciate the favorable compliments regarding our condo and our beautiful view. I learn something from each review I receive. Fripp is a special place, not like many other beach spots. I would suggest to future renters that they contact the owner by phone if they are unfamiliar with Fripp. As an owner, I would much rather speak to my renters than exchange emails and texts. Some aspects of Fripp (amenity cards and high/low tides) are much better explained verbally. I'm unsure why this renter only gave the condo a 3 star review, unless she was tying her whole island experience to the condo itself.
Best beach stay ever!
We had the best beach vacation we have ever had at this condo on Fripp. Nicely decorated, spacious and clean condo with plenty of room to spread out. (The only reason it didn't rate it a 5 star was that not everything in it was brand new, but everything was clean and well taken care of.) No complaints. We watched dolphins, pelicans, etc. from the covered patio right on the water. Close walk to beach and nice pool. The island wildlife was fun to see. We would definitely stay here again.
Vacation at the Beach
The owners were so accommodating. We had such a great stay. We will come back again. The Island was beautiful and the Condo was in great shape. Plenty of room for the eight of us to get around. The Beach and pool area was close and provided a great tan and fun in the sun.
Very nice great location
Awesome dolphin watching right out the back door and wonderful owner
Took children and grandchildren to the oceanfront condo for a short weekend trip. Condo had everything we needed for cooking meals in kitchen and utilized gas grill in common area. Plenty of room for large family get away.
Great location and Views
Along with the views and location for our four-day event the condo served our needs fully and the weather was perfect
