Guestbook comments from the manager
We had such a great week! The Hammondsport Craft Fair was so cool in the "Coolest Little Town in America"! The Wind Mill was a treat in country fairs! The cottage was so centrally located to so many wineries, restaurants and markets. We ate well, drank deeply and thoroughly enjoyed swimming in Keuka Lake. It was warm, so clean and clear that we could watch fish pass by the dock!
Your cottage held so much nostalgia for me and my early years at the family lake cottage up in the Adirondacks!
The cottage was comfortable, well stocked and very "lakey". Loved the vintage postcards! The neighbors on Stone Point were friendly and helpful. We hope to come again!
Three Cheers for Keuka Dreams! Great memories!
From the Owner
“Great location to restaurants and many wonderful wineries with spectacular views of Keuka. Central location. Short drive to Branchport, Hammondsport, and Penn Yan. Our location allows for a less expensive cottage rental with many pluses that lakeside cottages don't enjoy. Quieter, level parking no stairs to cottage or lake. Additional space for extra cars. Parking for two at the cottage.”
Activity and Interests
Many of Keuka Lakes wineries are located on the west side of Keuka Lake, just a short drive away. In Hammondsport, throughout the summer there are numerous festivals and shows, weekly concerts in the central square of the village. The Glenn H. Curtiss Museum of Local History will give the visitor a historical perspective of the area. At Bully Hill Vineyards, one can sample local wines and enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking Keuka Lake from a fabulous hillside vantage point and learn about the history and art of winemaking at the Wine Museum. Antiques shops abound in Hammondsport and surrounding townships. Penn Yan features the Windmill, a produce, craft market with food vendors, pony rides and demonstrations each Saturday throughout most of the year. Our area has welcomed many Mennonite and Amish families, whose beautiful farms dot the countryside on either side of the lake's hillsides and beyond. Many are vendors at the Windmill, selling their produce, bajed goods, woodworking and quilts.
Lakeside dining is featured on both sides of Keuka Lake, reached by boat or car, each restaurant has its own specialty and its own particular vantage point of this beautiful lake.
DAYTRIPS INCLUDE: Watkins Glen State Park, Seneca Wine Trail Wineries, Corning Glass Museum and the Rockwell Museum of Western Art, both in nearby Corning. Ithaca offers the college-bound a chance to visit both Ithaca College and Ivy Leage Cornell University. Ithaca is an hour away, located at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake. Both campuses are impressive. The drive to Ithaca is spectacular on its own. Over the big hills and then descending into small towns, passing farms and fields. The scenery does not stop.
