The photos don’t do this property justice. It was perfect for me and my husband. We were close to everything, but not in it. Quiet, peaceful and well equipped!

Great spot on the water with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

It was very easy from start to finish. Communication was quick and thorough regarding the stay. It was clean and obvious that the owners take pride in their home. Right on bass harbor, great view of the stars on clear nights. Definitely a worthwhile place to stay.

A quaint cottage with a view

  • 5 of 5

This was absolutely the most fabulous cottage we've stayed at. It is only about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and far enough away from the crowds. This home is so comfortable for two people. The view of the harbor is spectacular. The homeowner is a sweet lady that lives on site and is always available if you need anything. We didn't need anything, because the cottage was stocked with anything you would need. There is a ceiling fan in the middle of the cabin, but it would have been nice to have a box fan for the bedroom side. It was a little warm when we first went to bed, but was nice and cool by morning. She does not supply coffee or shampoo, so bring your own. I hope to be able to get in again next year.

Little Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

This was my second stay at "The Barn" and there will definitely be a third. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and are more than willing to help you in any way that they can. The house is spectacular and located on a quiet inlet perfect for relaxing by the water in peace. It is only a short drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. So after a long day in the park or downtown shopping on Main Street, it is nice to be able to come back, sit on the back porch and star gaze in solitude.

If you are thinking about taking a trip to Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park, I highly suggest staying at "The Barn", it is well worth it.

quaint, charming upstairs cottage apartment captures the nostalgia, and romance of "once upon a time

  • 5 of 5

The hosts of "The Barn" are gracious, welcoming, and willing to answer all questions, and help make their guests feel at home. The u/s loft apartment was cozy, comfortable, clean , and charming. the harbor breezes cool the space, along with a ceiling fan. Views of the bay, sailboats, and shore birds are as lovely as a painting. This rental is on the "quiet side" and is just that---a lovely retreat.
