Another romantic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a glorious week in December at the neighboring Casita de Luna and could not wait to return! We decided to return for 5 days, but stay in Casita de las Estrallas since it has a/c and it is summer! We had another very romantic time together. The house is very comfortable, clean and provides all your needs. We thoroughly enjoyed the well groomed private beach, shaded lounge chairs and the hammock while sipping on tropical drinks. Iggy the Iguana frequently visited us and we enjoyed conversing with the neighbors we befriended in December. The town is a relaxing 30 minute stroll (2 km) along the water with plenty of shops and restaraunts to choose from. There are always taxis waiting to drive you back if you prefer not to walk back. Thanks Joan and Lloyd for sharing your home with us once again. We look forward to returning and it will never be soon enough!!

Paradise! A place of beauty and renewal

  • 5 of 5

I am the best friend of reviewer Margie B. Casita Las Estrellas is everything and more than she said. For two people there was more than adequate space and the decor was an extension of the house and property. Simple and beautiful. There was nothing extra that we needed for 10 spectacular days of peace and beach. A wonderful place to leave your worries behind and relax. I especially enjoyed spending time in the third floor "meditation room" at the end of the day with the windows 360' around, reflecting on how lucky we were to be here.

We walked to town along the beach - about 30-40 minutes - very doable for any age. Taxi home with groceries more than reasonable.

We too enjoyed the resident Iguana who greeted us every morning. Another reviewer named him Fido, we preferred Iggy

Thanks to Joan, Lloyd and Vicky for making this experience possible

Perfect Spot for a Quiet Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My best girl friend and I stayed at Casita de las Estrellas for 10 glorious days. We wanted uninterrupted lazy days, and that was exactly what we got. The house itself is charming and immaculate, and there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything one needs for basic cooking. There was plenty of bottled water in the kitchen. The two full baths (showers only) had plenty of towels and bar soap. The futon in the living room was very comfortable for lounging, as well as sleeping. The second floor bedroom was perfect. The Swing bed was adorable and the porch Got a lot of use! The third floor room was great for complete relaxation and the views were especially spectacular. Vicky, the manager, couldn't have been more helpful. Joan and Lloyd thought of everything to make this casita a wonderful place to stay, from extension cords to extra pillows. The back yard leading to the beach was beautiful. The landscaping was so pretty and well cared for. We saw several species of birds, iguanas, and geckos. The walk into town takes 30-40 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants, a small grocery, a pharmacy, a fish market, and a few gift shops. There is a larger grocery 2-3 miles up the road. Catch a cab at the tourist booth in town and taxi back home to Calle de las palapas for $5. I can't recommend this place more, if you're looking for peace and quiet. We will definitely come back.

A piece of paradise

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casita de Las Estrellas. The location was ideal. Private beach right on the ocean. Close to snorkeling around and out from the pier. Close via boat to great snorkeling at the reefs. Several cenotes within 45-60-minute drive. 30-40 minute walk along the beach into town. Many good restaurants in Puerto Morelos. Our favorites were Merkaditos (dinner) and El Nicho (breakfast).

The patio and hammock and beach lounges made up for a small living area. The bed was comfortable. The downstairs shower was great. The kitchen was adequate for our needs. We even made friends with Fido the resident iguana.

We recommend this place for a wonderful, relaxing week.

Great property for some quiet beachtime!

  • 4 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at both the Casita de la luna and Casita de las Estrellas during our time in Puerto Morelos. Both properties were very clean and well maintained and the grounds, both garden and beach, were awesome. The two Casitas are in the same compound, but still provide privacy, but also the chance to meet your neighbors! Proximity for all your essentials was excellent and even a trip by taxi to Cancun for New Years was quite reasonable (going at least!). Both Casitas had basic amenities and great atmosphere. We loved the loft bedroom in the first house (de la luna), and the additional space in de Las Estrellas! We rented a car and had no problem finding the location even in the dark, as the instructions provided were very easy to follow, my only suggestion is a better light at the door, as when arriving in the dark it can be challenging to find the right key...and the keyhole!

Overall we enjoyed our stay and the beautiful beach and thank Joan for her hospitality in welcoming us to her homes!

Just what I needed:)

  • 5 of 5

Casita de las Estrellas is a lovely palapa, right on the beach. I enjoyed my 30minute beach walks to town for dinner and easy cab ride home. The location was perfect for me. Their property manager, Vicky, is a gem and always willing to help if needed. My only regret is that I probably missed the hatching of the turtle nest out front by only a few days! Many thanks to Joan and Lloyd for renting their property.
