Awesome of season trip
We have been going to CB over the summer for years and decided last minute to book a trip in March for the three of us. Perfect size for a small family! It was well appointed and comfortable. Beautiful view! We had the best time and the owner was quick to respond with question. Hope to be back next March!
Great condo at the beach!
We had a wonderful stay! The condo was very clean, comfortable, and accommodating! It had everything we needed. The accessibility to the pool and ocean was great! We hope to stay again soon!

great value, gorgeous views
We have been going to CB for nearly 15 years and have tried almost every oceanfront location. This was our first stay at Sea Colony...
It's oceanfront, and has a spectacular panoramic view
It's super close to the tiki bar, which is our personal favorite hangout
It's the most reasonably priced oceanfront unit I've found, especially with a refundable security deposit
End unit, feels more private and far enough away from the busy-ness at the pool
Pool is clean, a good size and has nice furniture
The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils and pots/pans if you like to make your own food on vacation, which we do.
I personally did not find any of the bedding comfortable, but you can't please everyone
There were only 2 extra blankets there, one of them with a hole larger than my head
The patio furniture is short, so if you are sitting in it you can't see the ocean, just the railing. Also, the screen door is very hard to move and seemed to get stuck in the track often.
The dryer is LOUD. Too loud to have a conversation or watch TV while running.
Only one set of keys!! This is hard, as you need the keys to get into the pool and beach access gate, so you can't leave them in the lockbox.
We found communication with the owner a bit difficult, not as timely or clear as we had hoped but nothing serious.....
The only reason I would not stay here again is the NOISE!! Oh my, it sounded like bowling balls were going to come through the ceiling most of the time...people go up and down the stairs almost all night, and it sounds like they are coming through the walls. The only time we had absolute quiet to sleep was maybe midnight - 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. I don't think anyone was being rowdy or drunk or obnoxious, it's just the way the unit was built I guess. My husband, who could sleep through the Apocalypse, woke up several times a night due to noise.
There were a few attention to detail things that would have been nice (like not having ratty blankets, a little wd-40 in the dryer and screen door, etc.), but the only reason we would not book again is the noise level. It is a lovely unit with amazing views, and the most reasonable rate you'll find. We had a great time.
Perfect Beach Getaway!
We had a recent off season stay at this unit and can say that it was everything promised and more. The location is one of the best on the beach. Boardwalk area is a little to the north. Kure beach and the fishing pier a little way to the south. There is a swimming pool on-site. The condo itself is a coveted 1st floor corner unit. As you step into your rental unit, you are taken immediately by the main attraction......unencumbered views of the ocean just outside the sliding glass doors. Open the doors and you are rewarded with the smell of ocean breezes, the sound of the surf and the sight of pelicans flying by. This is a roomy, clean, well updated and maintained. Nice appliances, including washer and dryer in the unit. Most importantly, it is comfortably furnished. If you have stayed in a place with cheap wicker furniture, you know why I stress that. There is also covered parking under your rental unit, so your car does not have to bake in the open sun.
Wonderful place to stay
My wife and I stayed at this lovely unit on a recent trip to the area. We enjoy the beach during the cool months of fall and winter, so it was a perfect alternative to staying in Wilmington. The price was nice and so was the owner. We handled all of the booking requirements by telephone because it was a last minute trip. Although we never made it onto the beach, which was right outside our back door, the view of the ocean from the deck of the condo was great, so we settled for enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean from there. The days were crisp and clear and were absolutely perfect for us. When we did not cook, we visited nearby restaurants, Jack Mackeral's and Ocean Grill. Jack Mackeral's is a very brief ride by car and the Ocean Grill a short walk from the condo. We loved the comfort, cleanliness and home-like feel of the unit. It is nicely decorated and well-appointed, with supplies that make meal preparation easy. We could not have been more satisfied and look forward to going back soon.
Activity and Interests
Near the center of Carolina Beach is Jubilee Park, where you'll find water slides, miniature golf courses and other activities that appeal to the kids. Adults will enjoy sport fishing and evening party boats that are harbored in the center of town.
Carolina Beach has a movie theater, grocery stores, drugstores, beach shops and boutiques, numerous restaurants, hardware and variety stores, and bait shops. You can fish from the pier, surf cast, or experience sport fishing from a number of charter boats located in the municipal yacht basin.
Carolina Beach is adjacent to Kure Beach, a predominantly residential area. At the center of town, a popular fishing pier extends well out over the ocean and there are a number of restaurants. A charming boardwalk with benches extends north along the beach and is lighted at night.
Fort Fisher Historic Site & Fort Fisher State Recreation Area
To the south of Kure Beach are the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. The Historic Site, amidst twisted live oaks, was the largest of the Confederacyâ€™s earthwork fortifications during the Civil War. The Recreation Area has 4 miles of wide, unspoiled beach, a visitor center with bath house, a snack bar and restrooms.
The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher
The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has been expanded into one of North Carolinaâ€™s largest aquariums. It has many new features, including a huge shark tank.
Fort Fisherâ€“Southport Ferry and the Public Boat Launch Area
At the southern end of U.S. 421 is the Fort Fisherâ€“Southport Ferry. Across the road is a public boat launch area that is popular for windsurfing, parasailing, kiteboarding, kayaking and fishing.
Attractions Close to Pleasure Island
To the North
To the north of Pleasure Island, golf, museums, a kiddie zoo, gardens, historic attractions and shopping are within a short drive or ferry ride.
During the day, downtown Wilmington is quaint and charming, but at night it comes alive in a whole new way. Dance clubs, jazz bars, venues for rock, rhythm and blues and more can be found in the downtown district. The Riverwalk, with its view of the Battleship North Carolina moored on the western shore, is a great place to stroll, grab a hot dog from a street vendor, listen to free music, and enjoy the river activity. Restaurants, boutiques, art galleries and antiques shops line the streets.
Across the Cape Fear River is Southport, home to the largest Fourth of July Festival in North Carolina - a week of activities consisting of arts and crafts, street dancing, lots of fun and a parade, culminating in an evening of fireworks. In October, Southport hosts their Annual King Mackerel Tournament, which is open to the public.
