The cabin on Trout Lake was exactly as advertised.

  • 4 of 5

Plenty of space for our crew. Swimming every day in the clear waters. Decent fishing, quiet neighbors and close to Bolton Landing and Lake George.

If you like peace and quiet...this is the place for you!

  • 5 of 5

First, I have to say the owners were amazing. Bob was easy to contact and offered answers to all questions I had....right away.

My family has been coming to the Lake George area for years. Often times, Lake George Village is a lot of action and people. Can get a bit busy. We wanted more woods, lake, small town, quiet and peacfulnes. We traveled more north on Rt.9...we discovered the town of Bolton Landing and Diamond Point. Locals are amazing. Make you feel right at home in the small cozy town. Love to eat out overlooking lake and renting boats for the day.

I found Bob's beautiful cabin online. My husband was not happy we me booking something online...but the minute we drove down the private road and approached the cabin he looked and me and said "this is did good".

I told Bob what we were looking for and his cabin checked all it boxes. There is a small community on Trout Lake. Only 5 minutes from Lake George. It is stunning.

The cabin overlooks the lake. I mean its you, deck, some grassy area and then the Lake...literally all to yourself. There was not a cup of coffee or glass of wine not had from Bob's deck or dock. The dock was huge. We had a party of 8, 4 adults and 4 children. No one was bored or disappointed. Kids fished daily and actually caught some decent fish. Dock loaded with lounges. We used all fun equipment from floats, extra swim dock and even kayaks.

First time we did kayaks and it's so relaxing.

The dock was a place to relax, chat and enjoy everything around you. The cabin was cozy and had everything needed. We came up with our linens (which you don't have to bring) and our food. I must say a charcoal grill makes the food taste so much better. The deck off the cabin had two rocking Adirondack chairs that you saw sun come and down. Candles lit and enjoyed fire pit, smores and family time.

If you are looking to travel to Lake George area, want a reliable owner who loves his property and has everything you need for a peaceful vacation contact Bob. You won't be disappointed...I promise you.!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. It is our pleasure to have you as our guest/ renter and we certainly hope to have you back again. Let me also give kudos to my wife Eva Marie who makes everything so warm, beautiful and inviting. A recent renter emailed to say, "you can feel the love in the walls of your place".

Trout Lake Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Everyone in our family - husband and I and our three adult children (25,23 and 20)- said this was the absolutely best vacation we had ever taken. It was the perfect vacation in every way imaginable. Like the last reviewer, we enjoyed the stunning, peaceful, lake, the 4 kayaks, rowboat, floating swim dock, HUGE dock - with 4 chaise lounges, 4 Adk chairs, 2 built in benches, 2 children's chairs, and a table and umbrella - fire pit area with multiple chairs, upper patio with picnic table, chairs, and charcoal grill, and HUGE deck (facing the setting sun, of course), in addition to the spacious inside, the abundant parking, and all the beautiful landscaping!

We live close enough where we had many visitors throughout the week - they really enjoyed the New England Shrimp Boil we had - and everyone agreed the place was great! The beds are very comfy and the outdoor shower is amazing!

If this place were for sale, we'd buy it if we could!

Bob was accessible by phone and email and very quickly responded to our inquiries. On the one rainy day we had, we went into Bolton Landing, which is a great little town on Lake George about 3 miles away with tons of shops and restaurants. Lake George and Saratoga Springs are a quick ride away for even more entertainment and shopping options. Lake Placid is a very easy day trip for those who always wanted to go there. And the Adirondacks offer many, many days hikes within very close range.

If you are thinking of renting this place, don't hesitate! We will be back every year, perhaps more than once! This is the PERFECT Adirondack vacation, and the best ever for us - and we have a lot to compare it to!

Wonderful time on Trout lake

  • 5 of 5

I rarely write reviews , but in this case I wanted to make a exception . I booked the week in march 2011 for vacation the week of July , so I had slot of time to be worried as to whether I made the correct decision. But after my arrival at Bobs cottage on the lake all of my fears went away...all I can say is that this is a beautiful property , very well maintained and charming to boot. The owners made sure everything was in order for my families arrival , very clean , well supplied , little extras like directions and suggestions to local things to do. The cottage slept our group of 9 very comfortably , the deck is huge and looks out over trout lake which is a hidden gem itself. We made campfires very night , used the kayaks everyday , slept in the hammock and used the outside shower every morning. The cottage is situated perfectly between Boltons Landing and the village of Lake George and provides a great starting point for all of your adirondack adventures. But the best part of all of our excursions was returning to the cottage and just relaxing. So if you are considering this property , don't even wait ... Reserve your time now you will not be disappointed , Bob the owner is a great host and made sure everything was in line for me to provide my family a great experience ...we will without a doubt return to Bobs cottage on Trout Lake.
