Guestbook comments from the owner

Sorry for taking so long to send this to you. My wife, daughter and I stayed in your home in Temecula back in October 2011. It was everything we dreamed it would be and more.

We are "Foodies" and loved the well-appointed kitchen and wet bar. It was also quite the novelty to pick limes and avocados right off the tree. Avocados are close to $2 a piece back home in the midwest. The formal dining room was well used, as we were able to share a few intimate meals with friends. It too was nice to have the outdoor grille and patio dining available. Good food, good wine, and amazing sunsets were norm. This was just what we needed prior to heading back to the winter months in snow country.

Sitting next to the pool each morning was a wonderful way to begin the day. Watching the sun rise while sipping fresh coffee, then reading a good book and watching hot air balloons that dotted the sky above the Temecula valley was delightful.

Everything about the house was wonderful. The peace and quiet, the pool and spa, the furnishings, the layout, etc. were perfect for our needs. The close proximity to shopping, golf, and wineries was a bonus.

If given the opportunity to return to southern CA, we would relish the opportunity to lodge "Under The Temecula Sun".

Thanks for everything!!

weekend away with a view

  • 4 of 5

We had a fun birthday weekend in Temecula while staying at this beautiful home. It was spacious, and the outdoor space was spectacular. It truly is a luxurious home with a gorgeous view. This home should advertise as only sleeping 6, not 8. There are only beds for 6, and we were asked to bring our own air mattresses for the additional 2 guests. We wanted to use the spa but were so worried about going over our "propane usage" (the contract warns strongly about this) that we felt like we had to limit our use - unfortunate, as that was one of the reasons we had rented the house in the first place. We were asked to empty all the trash cans and bring the trash out to the curb at the end of the (very long) driveway, which felt like it should have been included as part of the cleaning fee. These few little details would have been nice to know up front. Overall, it was a lovely stay and the owner was easy to communicate and work with. He went above and beyond when my deposit took a few extra days to come through. This goes a long way in my book.

Beautiful home!

The house is beautiful, the yard is amazing. Only draw back is that the pool can not be heated. Would defiantly rent again.

Terrific stay in beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable home. We like to stay in and cook and found beautiful spaces inside and outside the home to prepare our meals. The kids loved playing in the large front yard which was great for the adults as we stayed in the back! The house is very close to the 2 best vineyards of our trip (Leoness and Rinzoni).

This is NOT Iowa in the winter....

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely gorgeous in the winter of January 2018. Very briefly swam in the freezing pool just to say that we did. Enjoyed the hot tub one night looking at the stars and the distant lights in the hills. The house is immaculately clean, the beds are wonderful. If you enjoy being an amateur chef the kitchen is well stocked. Would most definitely return but then again so many more wine regions to explore. Thank you , Derek, for all of your help .

One of my FAVORITE vacation destinations!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time staying at Under the "Temecula Sun," and it definitely will not be my last. Derek was very responsive to any questions and always ensures the property is very well maintained. I loved everything about the property: the tranquility, spaciousness, comfortable pool and spa, cleanliness, spectacular views, proximity to all vineyards and shopping, the pool table. I had plans to drive into San Diego (1 hour away) for the day, but the house is SO peaceful and comfortable, I never wanted to leave and put those plans off until my next visit. The pictures in the rental advertisement are very accurate, but NOTHING compares to seeing this property in person! I highly recommend Under the "Temecula Sun" for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing getaway in wine country.

Beautiful property with a killer view!

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated my Mom and Dad's 60th wedding anniversary here and had an amazing time. The house is very comfortable with a beautiful view. We played pool, went wine tasting, watched the hot air balloons lift off in the valley below...so fun!
