About Brian Mylar

I'm a real estate agent in San Antonio but this is our personal home on the river. We don't use it much because we have six kids, so we rent it out so others can enjoy it.

Brian Mylar purchased this house in 2007

Why Brian Mylar chose Canyon Lake

We always wanted property on the Guadalupe. They aren't making any more of it, so we snagged this one while we could and then built the house.

What makes this house unique

It's just quiet and peaceful and woodsy. That's what I like about it.

Notes:
This home offers too many amenities to mention, but let me try: You can float the "horseshoe" in this area and not worry about New Braunfels city rules. *YES, THERE IS ALWAYS WATER IN THE RIVER HERE! Our water comes from below Canyon Dam and so it's always flowing to downstream users so there's always water here. It may not flow very fast at times, but it's there. So while the Guadalupe may have dried up ABOVE the lake, water will continue to flow BELOW the lake until it's drained. *Direct waterfront access to the Guadalupe River. Right off our banks you can tube, canoe, kayak or just plop a chair down and relax in the most beautiful of Texas Rivers. Giant Cypress trees line the bank at this shady retreat. The house sits on high ground. There are 51 steps from an upper deck down to the river level. *Decks aplenty! The porch high above the Guadalupe has a covered wrap-around cement deck that offers the chance to relax and enjoy a beverage amidst the trees. Below that, a wooden deck features a patio table and chairs and a large bench for relaxing. The propane gas grill nearby means you can grill your dinner and serve it al fresco! Another level down there's an eight-foot wooden bar overlooking the river. Pull up the bench and have beer or dinner. Then, down by the river, there's another pavestone deck with two tables where you can relax as the tubers (or the ducks!) float by. Plus, there's a picnic table near the river as well! *Recreation for the Kids! This home features a 16-foot trampoline with pads and side nets for your enjoyment as well as a wooden play structure with swings, a slide and a fort. *Games: Come here to play! We have a full size volleyball net that is set up (bring your own ball), a croquet set on the porch that you can take out and even Hillbilly Horseshoes (otherwise known as ladder golf). Come here to play and have fun! *Can you Canoe? We have a canoe with paddles by the river. You are free to take it on the water at your own risk. ***As you can see, this is a FAMILY home in a FAMILY neighborhood. Noise and excessive guests at any time of the day will not be tolerated. No more than FOUR vehicles may be parked at the house. Neighbors WILL call the sheriff's department if there is excess noise and we will do an 11pm drive-by on weekend nights to count the number of cars and check for noise. Great family weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Great house, great location on the river! We fit in 10 with no problem. The house is great - covered wraparound porch as well as a multiple deck levels. Not too far from the tube rental spots (Whitewater was the best). We also played on the river (with a large rock shelf about a foot deep) right behind the house.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us AGAIN! This is one of our many repeat guests and we appreciate all of them. And you have to like the BeeHive to keep coming back! We have a great location, lots of space for groups of up to ten adults and children and great access to the river for all your vacationing fun. It is fun to play in the yard, take out the canoe, wade in the shallow parts of the river or take a float on a tube. Glad you enjoyed our big wraparound porch. What a great place to relax at the end of a fun and exciting day!

Great house sitting right on the quiet river

  • 5 of 5

Nice clean house with good porch. Great yard going down to the river. Convenient to the outfitters for tubing. We will come again.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for staying and enjoying the river! It is convenient and quiet. That's what I like about it best. It's not on the main tubing lanes, it's just north of the Horseshoe, so you get a few tubers and folks taking a canoe ride, but you're not on the rowdy part of the river. I like sitting out on the porcha and enjoying nature. And when it's time to tube, less than a mile down FM 306 you can find outfitters. Thanks again!

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

The pics online don't do this house justice. The back porch and deck was awesome! We sat out there for morning coffee and for dinner every evening. And the river access was gorgeous! Great spot on the river!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for staying! Ahhh, I wish I was there now sitting on one of the beautiful decks and enjoying a beverage or a meal. I love looking at the river, whether standing on the banks or sitting in the swing. There are so many trees and so much privacy near the house it's great to see all the leafy splendor. We love having people enjoy what we do!

Really enjoyed our stay at The Beehive. The river access was great for tube launch or just putting a chair out in the sun. Close to everything. Kid and pet friendly.
