We're LOVING our vacation ~ we've done both the puzzles, Bob & Judy loaned us the use of their pedal boat, our daughter caught a northern pike off the dock (and my husband caught a carp ~ which we returned to his home in the water), we've enjoyed picnics and sunshine & a wonderful rainy day today ~ we hate to see the week end!!

Thanks again!

Wonderful old camp on a quiet stretch of the river

  • 4 of 5

We'd hoped to get away from everyone and enjoy the peace of the River while visiting family in the area, and Emily's cottage was just the place. It was surprisingly large, with great views all around, lots of old trees, and a perfect view. If we hadn't flown in, we'd be sure to bring a few old fishing poles, bikes (for the Thousand Island Parkway trail) and a canoe or kayak to take full advantage of the place. Nearby neighbors with whom we shared a driveway were very friendly. The place was clean and everything worked, although the small grill needed some love. We spent hours on the decks watching birds, boats, and clouds.

Parents of young children should know the porch railings are low and the bottom floor of bedrooms is separate (outdoor entrance) from the top, BUT if you have teens (we do) or other family who'd like that extra privacy, it's a great feature. We'd return.

Old Time Cottage Charm

  • 3 of 5

This is a great place if you are looking for the old-time cottage charm. Our two young daughters enjoyed fishing on the dock and watching the chipmunks. The local tame duck population was a great added feature. A fantastic water-edge view from the upper deck was a great way to unwind. There are numerous steep stairs leading down to the dock and bottom-level bedrooms.

Owner's Response: There are two granite walkways down to the river. On the east side, six steps lead from front door to lower bedrooms. Nine more steps at various intervals along the path go to the dock. The west walkway has more steps.

Labor Day Fun

  • 4 of 5

Thanks for a delightful spot to spend the Labor Day weekend. The view from the cottage of the St. Lawrence River is spectacular. Even though the weather was a bit cool and windy, we had a wonderful time sitting on the dock enjoying wine and cheese. Exploring the region around the cottage kept us busy - we went for some beautiful walks both around your cottage and along the Thousand Islands Parkway.

The town of Brockville has a pretty walkway and park along the river as well as many boat tours daily. Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Emily's Cottage"

Fantastic View

  • 4 of 5

A wonderful rustic old world cottage with a million dollar view. Steep incline from the cottage to the waterfront and excellent boat dock/swimming platform. A cozy wood burning stone fireplace for those cool evenings. The two downstairs bedrooms and second bathrooom are not accessable from the main level (upper) cottage they have a separate exterior entrance. Good fishing and sun bathing off the boatdock. We've been twice with our family and friends and would go again.

Ein in die Jahre gekommenes Cottage mit toller Aussicht.

  • 3 of 5
