About Susan Bacastow
Polly is a Regional EHS manager at ADT and Sue is an attorney. We are both adjunct professors in the College of Professional Studies at Villanova University in Villanova, PA. Polly also teaches at Drexel University where she is pursuing a doctorate in Information Studies. In addition to the Victoria Inn, we own and operate our Wellington Oasis (VRBO Listing #995401), a spectacular home in the heart of Wellington (Palm Beach County, Florida) - the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World. Fortunately, Polly is quite handy and enjoys making improvements to the Inn. Sue is constantly redecorating, so returning guests always find something new! We are both avid antique collectors. Most weekends, time permitting, we are at estate sales, garage sales, or antique stores. It’s one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon. We’ve had so much fun renovating, furnishing and decorating our house. A recent guest told us she could “feel the love in every room”. If you are looking for a true home away from home, this is your vacation home!

Why Susan Bacastow chose Ocean City
WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! We love the history, architecture and charm of old homes. Our house was built in 1915 and we have spent the last 14 years renovating the Victoria Inn, making it an absolutely idyllic vacation retreat. We love old homes and the family-friendly atmosphere of Ocean City - a fun, safe place to vacation. OC has won many awards and was recently named the greatest family vacation resort by Travel magazine. It's comforting to allow the children to explore the town without worrying about bars on every corner as found in many other south jersey beach towns. We are located 1 block to the beach and 2.5 mile boardwalk. Every block of our fabulous beach is guarded, & the 7th Street beach is a guarded beach only for surfing. With so much to do, you can walk anywhere and avoid paying for parking! The boardwalk has 2 great amusement piers, a water park, several mini-golf courses, music pier, arcades, surf shops, a movie theater, dozens of stores, and every kind of 'fun food' imaginable: ice cream, pizza, salt water taffy, caramel corn, water ice, candy, fudge, French fries, seafood, smoothies, cotton candy, and more. We are just a couple of blocks to the 100+ shops and many restaurants on Asbury Avenue, a great shopping venue for a girls' weekend or a break from the hot sun! Less than a block from our home you will find 12 tennis courts, a track, football field, shuffleboard courts, basketball court, & beach volleyball. You can rent bicycles for a morning ride on the boardwalk. Just a few blocks away is the bay where you can rent jet skis, go deep sea fishing, crabbing, enjoy a whale & dolphin watching cruise, go parasailing, or enjoy a delicious meal. If you just want to relax, our wrap-around deck is a terrific spot to savor your morning coffee, read a book, play a game, people watch, or enjoy cocktails. The courtyard is perfect for celebrations with seating for 40!
What makes this Condo unique
The Victoria Inn is a truly unique setting for fantastic summer vacations, intimate weddings, fabulous birthday parties, memorable anniversaries, festive holiday celebrations, & fun-filled family reunions. Newly married, Polly and I especially enjoy hosting weddings, & we will gladly assist you in planning the perfect event! Our lovely, partially enclosed courtyard, reminiscent of a French Cafe, has seating for 40 at fabulous wrought iron tables & chairs with many potted, hanging & climbing flowers, & hundreds of tiny white lights. Expanded in 2016, the courtyard now features stunning pavers and a raised garden, making it a spectacular setting for celebrations! With accommodations for up to 40, the Victoria Inn provides a reasonably priced retreat venue. Meeting space for large groups is available just a few blocks away. We will gladly assist with reservations. From mid-June to the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, we have weekly rentals only. However, we rent year-round. From September to mid-June, a 2 night minimum stay is required, except for holidays with a 3 night minimum. In addition to celebrations, guests have gathered for Creative Memories Scrap-booking, Mah-Jong weekends, yoga, spiritual, & youth retreats. Ocean City also hosts many special events including the M.S. Bike-a-thon, ALS walk, antique car show, Spring & Fall Block Parties, craft shows, art shows, Easter Egg Hunt with 100,000 eggs, Decorated Hat Parade, Halloween Festivities, Trick-or-Treating, Hayrides on the boardwalk, Music Festivals, Breakfast with Santa & Free Horse & Carriage Rides! Just steps from our house are all of the fabulous First Night (New Year's) Activities with fireworks, rides, musicians, shows & magicians. Conveniently located, 20 minutes to Atlantic City’s casinos & terrific shopping outlets; 30 minutes to historic Cape May with its famous zoo, many antique stores, dozens of shops, Victorian homes & fantastic restaurants, 1 hour to Philadelphia, & 2.5 hours to NY City.

Staying in this condo was a great experience! The location was perfect, close to the beach and boardwalk but not in a noisy area. It was very convenient to be able to park my vehicle at the house. The property was beautiful inside and out, as well as impeccably clean and well-maintained. All amenities described in the listing were more than satisfactory. The outdoor seating area was great for dinners with family and guests. Beach tags made available to borrow were awesome and a great money-saver. Owners were kind, helpful, easy to get a hold of, and wonderful people!!! Easily the best renting experience I've ever had having rented houses in Ocean City for the past few years.
Thank you, Brittany. We are so glad you enjoyed the condo. We look forward to seeing you next year!
Beach weekend with the team
Our women's xc team (12 total) had wonderful weekend in Condo A. We felt like little kids walking into this house discovering all the rooms and cute decor. The outdoor space on the porch and patio was fantastic and large enough for us all to spread out and relax in the beautiful and warm mid-Oct weather. At night after walking down and along the beach in the moonlight we were able to hook up our laptops to the big tv and watch chickflicks and eat icecream! For dinner one night we cooked chili in the crockpot. The house had everything we needed and more. We loved all being together and bonding in such a comfy setting. It was a very charming and clean place to stay and for a group of our size it was at a price that couldn't be beat. Sue the owner was very responsive to my many questions with the booking and patient with getting my payment to go through with my school's account. She even checked in with us after the stay to make sure everything went well.
Thanks so much for the fantastic review, Laura - it made my day : ) We're very happy you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the condo and Ocean City. We love it when our guests feel at home in our home, and can enjoy all of the amenities. We're glad you had great weather and were able to enjoy our new courtyard and patio! We hope one day you will be able to return to OC!
Loved The Patio!
We enjoyed our stay here! Very quaint and cute! Our favorite features were the front and back patio areas!! Great for wheelchair access into the house. The only negative for us was the problems we kept having getting the Wifi to work. One in our group had a hot spot, so we ended up using that. Overall though we loved our stay here and would rent it again.
Thanks, Rebecca. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and your son was able to navigate throughout the condo comfortably! The patio and courtyard are great spaces. While we do have Comcast business class Internet, a couple of times this year it did seem to get overloaded. Next summer we are upgrading even further (I have no idea what the next level is called, but we are getting it), so we shouldn't have any connection issues : )
My family & I had a great time in Condo B. The extra large bunk beds room was great for the kids. Clean, comfortable and very homey in a great location. Close to everything & I think 5th Street Beach is our new go-to when we visit.
Sue & Polly couldn't have been nicer and we knew we were in good hands.
Thank you, Alisha! Your review is posted in the correct place; however it mentions Condo B (our 3 bedroom) although you stayed in our Condo A (the 4 bedroom). We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again next year.
We couldn't have had a more perfect time. We watched the fireworks right from the front of the house and there were tons of things to do throughout the weekend to celebrate the July 4th holiday. The condo was amazing - really spacious and comfortable. We felt like we were at home! The pebble floor in the tile shower made me feel like I was at the spa. The appliances look and function as if they are brand new (which I'm pretty sure the refrigerator with the front water dispenser is!) Our boys absolutely loved the PlayStation II that was in their bedroom and the girls (including the adults!) loved the hundreds of books. There was such a wide selection that even my husband found some he liked. When we wanted to "people watch", we sat in the front of the house among all of the gorgeous flower gardens. When we wanted to have a little more privacy, we sat in the courtyard among the climbing mandevillas. We BBQ'd a few nights as well. It was so nice to stay so close to the beach and the boardwalk. The owners Sue and Polly think of absolutely everything and make you feel like a favorite family member instead of "just" a renter. We will be back!
Thank you, Courtney. I'm glad your family enjoyed all of the amenities. We always have lots of kids in this condo and they really enjoy the PSII and all the video games (about 25), plus the many books, DVDs and board games. The flowers are especially pretty this year : ) We hope to see you next summer!
Loved our vacation!
We loved our week in Condo A! The location is perfect. Close to the beach and boardwalk, but on a quiet street. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. Some nights we ate dinner outside in the courtyard. Very child friendly with books, movies, and games. Can't say enough nice things! Thank you Victoria Inn!
Thanks, Chuck. We do our best to have the kitchen well stocked. Most people are pleasantly surprised when they open the cabinets as we have just about everything they need! The courtyard is so wonderful for meals with all of the flowers, wrought iron tables and chairs and the little "Christmas" lights. Glad the kiddies liked the games and movies. We hope to see you next year : )
