Guestbook comments from the owner

What a relaxing weekend. Very quiet, very peaceful. We rested well in the bed and made good use of the hot tub! Waking up late, taking naps, enjoying the scenery and some quality time to ourselves. A very relaxing getaway. Our first Cabin retreat.. One of many...

Beautiful property in a beautiful area. Charming and homey.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went to the cabin for a Christmas/late 1 year anniversary getaway. Everything was ready for us when we arrived close to 11pm, which we appreciated after a long drive from Texas. Definitely follow Sue’s directions to the cabin. They were a tremendous help as it was pouring down rain and foggy and our GPS was starting to malfunction. We went ate at the Guthrie’s restaurant in town, which had a beautiful waterside view and phenomenal food. We also went to visit Cumberland Falls, which was 100% worth the freezing cold weather. Just taking in the amazing views from the time we arrived until the time we left has us wanting to go back again. The cabin is well maintained and just like the pictures posted. If you’re even considering planning a vacation here, do it.

Repeat customer who will rent again

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying in the lovely whispering woods cottage. We are looking forward to going back again in a year or so. The area is perfect, quiet with plenty of outdoor things to do within a short drive. The size of the cabin makes it very cozy and a great weekend retreat for two people -- that said, we might take the kids next time since the couch pulls out.

Still as Charming as I remembered

This was our second stay at this cabin. Everything was as perfect as our first visit. I do miss the real wood burning fireplace :( However our stay was still enjoyable!

cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

The fall foliage was spectacular , just what we had hoped. We achieved a much needed rest and relaxation during our 4 day stay . The cottage and the surrounding area was very peaceful at this time of the year. The best was waking up as if you were in the trees, as the house was snuggled in between large white oaks. My husband and I enjoyed the small room off the living area, as it was cozy as the warm light streamed in the windows. The surrounding area has several wineries. We enjoyed 3 of them and purchased the local wines to take home. We did call ahead to make sure they were open. Southeastern Kentucky was the right choice for a fall get away..
