A stunning setting for all seasons. This multi-level custom home sits on 5 acres of beautiful ponderosa pine trees and features views of the San Francisco Peaks through the large picture window, the upstairs loft, and the expansive stone patio.
Easy access to superb biking and hiking trails including Fort Valley Trail System and the Shultz trails.
A winter get-away four miles northwest of Flagstaff on the road to Grand Canyon, this beautiful location gives easy access to Snowbowl downhill ski runs, snow play areas, and cross country skiing at the Nordic Center. Stay the night and beat the crowds into Snowbowl--and avoid the traffic back into town later in the day.
The acreage around the home makes for great snow play. Use your showshoes or cross country skis without leaving the property!
I have lived in the Phoenix area since 1986. My first trip "up the hill" to Flagstaff sold me on the area. Flag is a wonderful combination of small mountain town and diverse culture, fed by Northern Arizona University and proximity to the Grand Canyon and Native American peoples. Ethnic food, live music, fine arts, museums---much more than you would expect from a town the size of Flagstaff. Hiking, biking, and fresh mountain air!
Christopher Brelje purchased this house in 2006
I looked for a retirement property in Flagstaff for over two years. I knew as soon as I saw it that this house in Hidden Hollow was the one for me: Peaceful, relaxing, with plenty of room and wonderful porches and an expansive stone patio. My mood changes for the better when I arrive---and it is so hard to leave. Retirement is still a few years out--so in the meantime, you get to enjoy the place!
One of the benefits of the house is that it is in the tranquil Ponderosa Pine forest, yet only minutes to "downtown" Flagstaff.
The house is amazing and the pictures can't do it justice. Everything was clean and beautiful. The kids wanted to ski and snowboard and we were lucky to have snow overnight. The house is located only a couple miles from Snowbowl and because it is so close, we were already home and cuddled around the fireplace nice and toasty as others were stuck in traffic trying to get back in town.
It is a beautiful space and there is enough room for togetherness and a little peace and quiet, if needed.
We will certainly be back ! Thank you, Chris, for being such a gracious host and meeting our every need.
The house was everything one could hope for! Well equipped, the furniture was wonderful and rooms enough to accommodate my family of 12. It had been years since we had experienced a true White Christmas, so when it snowed 14 inches on Christmas evening/Christmas Day it was perfect.
Of course, we had the perfect snow ball fight and snowman contest!
The owners were wonderful to work with and made renting this lovely home easy!
The family left saying "I'll bet this is great in the Summer" - Hint!
Thank you,

Thank you,
This was our families first experience renting a home for a vacation. It was wonderful. The owner was great to work with both before and during our stay. I had some questions and he responded promptly.
Wildlife - this cabin has beautiful big windows and patios all around the house. We saw deer, squirrel, bluejays, a rabbit, and chipmunk, at the cabin site - before we left for our 'nature walk'.
Activities - we went to the Grand Canyon one day, some of our party went to see the stars at the Lowell Observatory, and some of us did the Flagstaff Extreme ropes course. All of it was a lot of fun. But even if we hadn't done any of those things we would have had a great time just being at the cabin.
Our grandsons loved playing in the small gable room upstairs with a Thomas the tank engine trainset and playing on the swingset out back. We brought up some of our families favorite games and DVDs. But there were lots of games already at the cabin in their gameroom, and the ping-pong table was a big hit.
This cabin in the woods was perfect for our family. With our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren, we had 10 adults, two 4yr old boys, and two infant girls. With a group this size, having enough bathrooms, beds, and space is important. There was plenty of room for everyone, and lots of fun activities. While the decorations were kind of kitchy, that was just right for our family, it added to the family reunion feel of this wonderful cabin in the woods.
We've stayed at several rental homes for our family vacations and this was one of the best. The home had everything that anyone could need while on vacation. The home was very clean. The owner was great at about communicating the details that we need to know for the week. The kids had comfortable rooms to sleep in and when on vacation that is a very real plus. The location of the home was perfect. I liked that it wasn't right in town but close enough to everything. I highly recommend the place!
This cabin was AWESOME! It was spacious, yet cozy at the same time. The kids had a blast playing on the playset outside, sledding, building snow forts, roasting marshmellows, sleeping on bunk beds, and exploring all the hidden nooks in the cabin! Adults has fun playing ping pong and even shovelling snow! (we live in the desert) We also enjoyed the proximity to the downtown area (especially the brew pub!)We had fun just hanging out at the cabin!
It was the perfect winter getaway for my husband's 40th! We will definately be returning! As an avid traveler and a former Las Vegas resort concierge, I highly recommend this property and Chris provided outstanding customer service. Thanks for a great time and priceless memories!
What a fantastic week my family of eight had at this beautiful home. Over the years we have stayed at many cabins and this one ranks at the top. The cabin was huge. My granddaughters played in the lofts, hidden nooks, nanny's quarters and outside. The nanny's quarters was bigger than some apartments I have lived in. It was an oasis for two of my family members. The main house was spacious and no one felt crowded. You could be out on the huge patio cooking, reading or just enjoying the view and listening to the wind in the trees. We saw deer every day. There was plenty of hiking available. The Snowbowl, Grand Canyon, Powell Observatory and downtown Flagstaff provided plenty of opportunities for sightseeing. You could do a lot or nothing at all. The owner, Chris, went beyond what was expected to make sure our stay was great. Don't pass up the chance to experience what we did for a week!
