About Erik Becker
I was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. I am a die-hard Wolverine fan, having earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Michigan. I moved to Arizona in 1994 for the warm, dry climate. I purchased the home in Rocky Point in 2007 after making a handsome profit on the sale of my home (thank you real estate bubble!). I currently live in the Phoenix area with my wife, Tammy, and our three kids. We love the warm, dry climate of Arizona and enjoy the similar climate of Rocky Point, with the added advantage of having an ocean nearby. We are both avid scuba divers and love to dive with the sea lions at Bird Island. We've been down to Rocky Point nearly 100 times and have never had any issues. The locals and expats are all as friendly as can be. It is truly a fun and laid back atmosphere. We are excited for every chance we get to visit.

Why Erik Becker chose Benito Juárez
I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it. The location was ideal, being close to restaurants and stores and within walking distance of the beach. It was brand new when I bought it and I appreciated that it was built by an American who actually lives across the street! I like the enclosed, gated driveway, the walled in back yard, and the large cupula (dome) in the living room. But most of all, I feel at peace when I enter the front door. It's just such a cozy, comfortable space. For me, it's not just a house or investment property, it's HOME. That's why I ask anybody who wants to stay there: Please treat the place like it's your home... Thank you!
What makes this House unique
Low rental rates. All the conveniences you get at home. Friendly neighbors that look out for one another. Walking distance to the beach. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and convenience stores. Knowledgeable and caring property manager nearby.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
This rental property was very nice. The owner left detailed instructions concerning operating the television and internet equipment. We've stayed in other rentals in the area where we didn't have a clue about how to get things going. He also worked with us when we needed to reschedule due to changing plans.
Loved the house however the neighborhood left a lot to be desired.
Loved the house however the neighborhood left a lot to be desired. Very run down and does not feel safe.
Nice place to stay
Great little house, close to the beach. Not far from downtown.
We loved this house! Very comfortable, clean and close to beach. We walked to beach, to Al Capones ( great Americanized restaurant). Our 10 and 14 year old loved having netflix to watch after a long day in the ocean. Puerta Penasco is a great vaca spot and if you want to be close to everything this house is the place. My only note is there are no toiletries (small bar of soap in shower), detergent, left over food storagd etc. I don't say this to detract from the place, just a heads up. We are already planning to go back to Puerta Penasco and would definetly considering staying here again.
Hey David, Thank you so much for the great review! Glad you enjoyed the house. I appreciate you reporting the lack of toiletries. While leftover laundry detergent can be hit or miss (as guests often make off with it), the small soaps and shampoos should be a normal staple from the cleaning crew. I will make sure they hear from me about that.
Very comfortable home.
Chraming, clean and well appointed.
Dee is fantastic and her cleaning team does a wonderful job. The house was really nice and we had everything we needed EXCEPT the wifi hardly worked so we had no Internet or t.v. Dee tried her hardest to remedy that situation but we finally decided it wasn't worth vacation time to wait around for the wifi repairman! We didn't come to Rocky Point to watch Netflix and surf the net but we didn't have a phone line and email was our only source of communication.
The beaches are wonderful and we drove to the closest beach as it was a bit of a walk past many barking dogs.
Loved the roosters crowing.
Didn't like that we had to lock so many locks to feel safe.
Was great to have a yard for the dogs.
Thank you for your review. Sounds like my property manager was responsive to the Wi-Fi outage. Not sure what more could have been done or why it warranted a 3 star review. I don't think it's any secret that Mexico does not have the Internet infrastructure that we have here in the U.S. However, I have been impressed with the past reliability of the Internet at the house. My suggestion to future guests, if there is a Wi-Fi issue, is to go to one of the many businesses that have Wi-Fi, if you are unable to disconnect on your vacation. Coffee Point (on the main Blvd, Benito Juarez) has great coffee, free Wi-Fi and comfortable seating.
