Liberty Inn is an updated Century home with an adjacent cottage. The inn has been open for 20 years by the same owner. Deborah Wing-Mulchin has taken this property as her first venture and love. She maintains a tight schedule but always returns. We love serving the Conneaut community. Conneaut has a lot to offer it's visitors with a clean beach, many family activities and a home town feel. Come see us soon!
Deborah and Nick travel often and have their property manager and on site housekeeper prepare for and greet guests at the Inn.
Deborah Mulchin purchased this house in 1975

The Liberty Inn
Looking around Conneaut Ohio for accommodations is an little sparse . Winter accommodations are even harder to find in the area.
What an Blessing to find this nice clean bed and breakfast ,and that also has one area that is pet friendly.
We always have one well behaved dog with us, Full time companion.,Love of our life.
We have stayed at the Days Inn and for what they charge, we were very unhappy. The Liberty Inn was the same price or even less on multiple days stay.
Yes this is an older home , most bed and breakfasts are, the quality of the workmanship was very impressive to me because of my construction background.
We would recommend this home to anyone that values quality and good pricing. My wife, Carol, was very pleased with the accommodations. We stay once or twice a year in Conneaut ; we will make more reservations now that we have found a wonderful place to stay.

We have stayed multiple times at the Liberty Inn over the past year, and each time has been delightful. Most times it's just my husband and me, but over the Labor Day weekend we booked the entire house with three other couples who we take an annual trip with. We enjoyed sitting on the covered front porch, having coffee on the back deck overlooking the wooded hillside, playing board games at the big dining room table, and watching the baseball games on TV. We could have cooked up a storm in the very well equipped kitchen, but that's not our style; we headed out for some local color. State Street Diner is a fun taste of nostalgia, and offers a very good, hearty breakfast for a reasonable price. The White Turkey, an amazing rootbeer stand, is a must if you're there between Mother's Day and Labor Day. Our group had a lovely dinner at Tarsitano's winery, and everyone was very pleased with their steaks and amazing assortment of home-made raviolis.
But back to the Inn. If you appreciate historical, it's been beautifully restored, complete with a handwritten reminiscense from a woman who grew up in the home back in the early 1900's. It's what I'd call comfortable Victorian/cozy. Not over the top, but just plain friendly and full of interesting items to explore. Very tastefully decorated, with careful attention given to the guests' comfort. And something that my husband and I really appreciate, we do not feel "watched over" or at all restricted in our independence by the innkeeper. We know she's available to address any needs, but we can actually pretend for a few days that it's our home, not someone else's.
On our next stay, we hope to book the entire house again for us and our children and their spouses. With the beaufiful beach and harbor area nearby, it's a perfect relaxing place for a family reunion. But you have to be one who appreciates small town, quiet, relaxing time together, not lots of fast paced, commercial action.
We have travelled a lot, usually staying at premium lodging, and usually avoiding Bed and Breakfasts because we cherish our privacy. But for us the Liberty Inn is perfect; there is no downside.
I could not find any reviews on Liberty Inn. I had talked to a couple people, one said it was nice, one said it was OK. It is an old house and does have an old house smell. Could be from being closed up through the winter. That said it was very clean and a good deal per night for the front bedroom.
I had the entire house to myself which was a big plus because I did not have the private bath I was told about. I can't help but wonder why I was not offered a free upgrade to a better room since nothing was booked upon my arrival.
The house is decorated and furnished with antiques and some odds and ends. It was quite a view for the eyes the way a certain wallpaper print meets patterned tile, meets wood, meets another patterned tile, and there are all kinds of colors and patterns and furniture that do not match.
There is a nice big remodeled kitchen - very sunny. Overall the house was dead quiet. You could actually go shopping and make a bunch of meals here.
The bed in the front room was very soft and caused me some aches. The mattress in the back bedroom seemed much better and on my next stay I may check that out. The bed I had would probably be fine for a smaller person. I'm 6'2" and 195 and could not stretch out all the way because of the headboard / footboard situation.
The main thing one has to keep in mind is that this is Conneaut and you have to switch all your expectations for lodging because choices are so limited. There is the Days Inn, which is a total dump, and the Lakefront Motel which I could not find any reviews on either. There is also a Hampton about 20 miles away.
I just adjusted my thinking a bit and pretended I was staying at Grandma's house and she is an eccentric collector of odd items and puts them everywhere and has no sense of color or continuity.
All in all it was pretty good and reasonable and clean. Hard to say what it would be like if the house were full and you did not know the other residents but it seems like it would still be pretty quiet.
The location is very convenient for the thriving downtown metropolis that is Conneaut. McDonald's is right around the corner and it is a ten second drive from the Rainbow Tavern.
I really can't say much negative about it, I am a bit flexible. Sometimes I like to camp in a tent. My wife however is used to more resort lodgings and at the bottom of her list would be a Hampton or Residence Inn. Had she been with me on this trip I'm quite sure she would have vetoed it.
