Amelia Island is open for business. We were spared by Hurricane Matthew. Beautiful time of the year to visit. Relax on Amelia Island in our beautifully renovated three bedroom, two bath condo nestled among sprawling oaks, tropical palms and fountain ponds just outside your balcony. Just steps to the pool or two blocks to the beach.
The complex is very family friendly with lots of green space, a shaded playground and a barbecue area with grills and picnic tables.
This wonderful condo on beautiful Amelia Island is located in Fernandina Beach near all its great restaurants, fabulous golf, white sand beaches, historic locations, wonderful shopping in old historic downtown, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, airplane rides, and jet skis. Our island also has miniature golf, a movie theater just off the island, its a new 10 screen theater.
The owner lives two blocks from the condo and the property manager lives four blocks away and both are available 24 hours a day if needed. The owner inspects the property once a week.
Amelia Island—a barrier island located about 35 miles northeast of Jacksonville—has been consistently ranked among the Top 10 Islands in the United States by Condé Nast Traveler. At just 2 miles wide and 13 miles long from its northernmost tip to its southernmost point, the secluded island offers a string of pristine beaches. Main Beach has sports and entertainment, and Peters Point is well suited for family picnics. Then there’s Seaside Park at Sliders, where you can park your car on the beach.
Situated on the northeast corner of the island, Fernandina Beach is a Victorian seaport village filled with eclectic shops and restaurants. Stroll through the 50-block historic district to glimpse Victorian, Queen Anne, and Italianate homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nearby, in Fort Clinch State Park, you can tour a preserved 19th-century fort, hike or bike on the 6-mile trail that loops through the park, or go for a swim on the unspoiled beaches.
The condo is not perfect but certainly was a great value for the price we paid. Door to beach is about a 5 minute walk. We did not take advantage of the pool or tennis courts during our stay but having them available was a nice perk. Access and communication with the owners was easy.
It is an older unit that has seen the wear of rental use. The kitchen was updated with nice counters. The appliances are older but functional. While not dirty, the plumbing fixtures/drains could use a deep scrub as they have a lot of scale from dripping faucets. Bedding was comfortable.
A couple thousand dollars wisely invested, especially in replacement faucets and small repairs, could quickly pay itself off with higher rental fees the unit could then demand.
We stayed here right before Hurricane Matthew and was forced to leave a few days early. We came back after Thanksgiving to finish our vacation. The condo is situated perfectly on the island and two blocks from the beach. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and answered all texts and calls timely. They had some wonderful dining suggestions and things to do on and near the island. The kitchen is well equipped and the property is well maintained. The pool is wonderful and there is a playground for the kids. Unit was clean and we were gladly provided beach towels and beach toys. I will be staying here again next year. Thank you.
I would recommend not staying here, we found roaches and more dirt and uncleanliness than I have ever experienced with any sight, I just stayed 10 days in Seattle with homeaway and loved it, this Property is not worthy of this sight or your vacation.
Centrally located, this property makes access to everything easy. Owner is very responsive to renters needs and is quick to reply to any requests.
Some furniture in the living area is a bit rough but am told they are in the process of updating the rest of it. Bedrooms are good with comfortable beds. Kitchen is also adequately stocked with dishes, glasses and cookware.
Our trip was very enjoyable and the property assisted in the pleasure of our vacation.
I had the privilege of staying here, during mid-August.
The place was clean, organized, and in a great location. I felt safe, the gentleman was polite in accomodating/meeting my needs, and I wouldn't hesitate to tell others to consider this rental, as well.
Thanks for the memories. I'll be back!
Amelia Island is a great vacation spot. Our family enjoyed our visit and this condo we rented. It's close to the ocean and within walking distance to a few restaurants and grocery stores as well as drug stores are within blocks. The owner offered beach accessories to use which our children appreciated. The unit had everything needed in the kitchen to cook which we did half of the time. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms and the owner offered beach towels which we forgot to bring. Weather was fabulous and we will be staying in this unit again next year we enjoyed it so much.
