Good times in Ajijic
Painless and accommodating.
True Ajijic experience!
Great property close to Ajijic and all it has to offer !
As this was our first visit to the area of Lake Chapala, the priority of our trip was location and this property did not disappoint. It allowed us to enjoy all that the area has to offer without the worry of driving or parking. We thoroughly enjoyed the Market at the end of our street every Wednesday. There was a festival or a celebration of some sort almost always and we were far enough away that the noise was not a bother but close enough to take them all in.
The property is as pictured in the ad and was very comfortable and we did make use of the fireplace a few times during our stay.
The kitchen is really well equipped and if there was something that we needed, Georgette was there asap to get it to us.
There is Firestick as well as Bell Satelite and when the internet was co-operating ( because this is Mexico lol) we did enjoy some of our nights watching the English programming.
We hope to return to the area and would hope we could stay here again.
They were troopers about TELMEX, which is the Mexican telephone company which everyone loves to hate! In TELMEX's efforts to "upgrade" there were mistakes made that took too much time to fix, but, then Mexico is a great place to practice patience. Other than that I think they enjoyed their stay, had a good time and hope to see them back!
Casa de la CRUZ
We absolutely loved the house. Very comfortable, wonderfully decorated, super location, and very helpful owner. We had several lovely walks around Ajijic - a lovely and friendly town, and also took in some local events such as the Tuesday Organic Market, the Wed tianguis (market), which was just down the street from our house, and a presentation at the Lake Chapala Society. We also took advantage of some tours which were very worthwhile: including to the Teuchitlan ruins and the tour around Lake Chapala. W also took the Tequila Express Train to Tequila to the town of Tequila and a tour of the Jose Cuervo tequila distillery. That was quite an experience - our train car was quite boisterous with many young (and some not so young) Mexicans thoroughly enjoying the free-flowing tequila! Ajijic is definitely a place I'll return to.
I loved seeing this guest explore my little spot of paradise and hearing of all the plans to see the places of interest nearby, but I liked this woman so much that I wanted to show her more about what just the day to day living here is like. I felt that she would find all sorts of interests here and opportunities for community service, classes, charity events and all sorts of things that her expertise would allow her to get involved in and contribute to for the enrichment of us all. That surface was just only lightly scratched. I do hope she comes back! It is such a great place to live. Georgette Richmond
Charming, with just the right Mexican touches!
Georgette is a wonderful hostess, near enough that if there is a problem, it can be addressed. But there weren't any problems! The apartment was delightful with everything we needed and more. The location was ideal, a short walk to the Wednesday market (what fun) and easy distance from many wonderful restaurants and the Malecon. The cobblestone streets and sidewalks are tricky to walk on (so bring your sneakers) but so charming that you don't mind "watching your step." Ajijic is so full of life and has so many things to do, but we were there to "chill" in the sunshine and mostly enjoyed walking and watching the world go by. There is a great tour company if you want to see other Mexican sights. Georgette was full of suggestions, the apartment was marvelous, and Ajijic is charming.
They were great travelers!!! Wonderful people, and they got me to, once again, see and appreciate how fabulous my little Village is even though I NEVER ever seem to ever take it for granted even after 35 years here.
My biggest surprise, thanks to them, was finding out there is a big Ukulele class here and actually getting to go sit in and listen! Who knew?
Their time went by way too fast and I hope they can come again!
