Georgette Richmond purchased this House in 2006

As this was our first visit to the area of Lake Chapala, the priority of our trip was location and this property did not disappoint. It allowed us to enjoy all that the area has to offer without the worry of driving or parking. We thoroughly enjoyed the Market at the end of our street every Wednesday. There was a festival or a celebration of some sort almost always and we were far enough away that the noise was not a bother but close enough to take them all in.
The property is as pictured in the ad and was very comfortable and we did make use of the fireplace a few times during our stay.
The kitchen is really well equipped and if there was something that we needed, Georgette was there asap to get it to us.
There is Firestick as well as Bell Satelite and when the internet was co-operating ( because this is Mexico lol) we did enjoy some of our nights watching the English programming.
We hope to return to the area and would hope we could stay here again.
They were troopers about TELMEX, which is the Mexican telephone company which everyone loves to hate! In TELMEX's efforts to "upgrade" there were mistakes made that took too much time to fix, but, then Mexico is a great place to practice patience. Other than that I think they enjoyed their stay, had a good time and hope to see them back!
Casa de la CRUZ
We absolutely loved the house. Very comfortable, wonderfully decorated, super location, and very helpful owner. We had several lovely walks around Ajijic - a lovely and friendly town, and also took in some local events such as the Tuesday Organic Market, the Wed tianguis (market), which was just down the street from our house, and a presentation at the Lake Chapala Society. We also took advantage of some tours which were very worthwhile: including to the Teuchitlan ruins and the tour around Lake Chapala. W also took the Tequila Express Train to Tequila to the town of Tequila and a tour of the Jose Cuervo tequila distillery. That was quite an experience - our train car was quite boisterous with many young (and some not so young) Mexicans thoroughly enjoying the free-flowing tequila! Ajijic is definitely a place I'll return to.
I loved seeing this guest explore my little spot of paradise and hearing of all the plans to see the places of interest nearby, but I liked this woman so much that I wanted to show her more about what just the day to day living here is like. I felt that she would find all sorts of interests here and opportunities for community service, classes, charity events and all sorts of things that her expertise would allow her to get involved in and contribute to for the enrichment of us all. That surface was just only lightly scratched. I do hope she comes back! It is such a great place to live. Georgette Richmond
Charming, with just the right Mexican touches!
Georgette is a wonderful hostess, near enough that if there is a problem, it can be addressed. But there weren't any problems! The apartment was delightful with everything we needed and more. The location was ideal, a short walk to the Wednesday market (what fun) and easy distance from many wonderful restaurants and the Malecon. The cobblestone streets and sidewalks are tricky to walk on (so bring your sneakers) but so charming that you don't mind "watching your step." Ajijic is so full of life and has so many things to do, but we were there to "chill" in the sunshine and mostly enjoyed walking and watching the world go by. There is a great tour company if you want to see other Mexican sights. Georgette was full of suggestions, the apartment was marvelous, and Ajijic is charming.
They were great travelers!!! Wonderful people, and they got me to, once again, see and appreciate how fabulous my little Village is even though I NEVER ever seem to ever take it for granted even after 35 years here.
My biggest surprise, thanks to them, was finding out there is a big Ukulele class here and actually getting to go sit in and listen! Who knew?
Their time went by way too fast and I hope they can come again!
A lovely home
We were delighted to be upgraded into Georgette's 2 bedroom home. The home was perfectly placed in Ajijic, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Georgette was kind and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here!
They were the nicest sweetest people and i wish I could have gotten to know them better. I hope they come back!!!
Great Space, Lots Of Charm
My friend and I have stayed at this wonderful house several times. Apart from the great location, from which you can walk to the main plaza, the malecon, oodles of great restaurants and shops, you'll find that the house, itself, is spacious and charming. Decorated in typical Mexican style with lots of great colors and artwork, you have the feeling that you're really getting the Mexican experience. We enjoy entertaining and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. The formal dining-room, as well as the screened indoor/outdoor dining area, can accommodate a sit-down dinner for up to eight people. Georgette Richmond, the owner, has become a friend and you can always depend on her willingness to resolve any issues or situations that may arise during your stay. She also has been living in Ajijic for thirty-five years and is an excellent source of information for anything you might want to do or see.
Ajijic is a beautiful, colorful vacation destination and this house is situated in the perfect place to enjoy it on foot. Enjoy!
They are just the most fun people ever!!! My Boston Terrier adopted them wholeheartedly with just a little bit of coaxing on their part. That means they spoiled my normally shy little guy rotten and I am not sure Hardwick has gotten over their absence yet. Time flew by and there were beautiful dinners, lots of community theatre events, a near miss hurricane scare and a hospital stay that was reported by the renters to rival The Four Seasons spa. All of that set in my beautiful little Mexican village with all of its maddening and marvelous eccentricity and charm! Georgette
Great location and beautiful home. Super clean
The pictures for this place look great but it's even BETTER in person. It's a lovely home with a charming hostess. Georgette went above and beyond to accommodate us. We stayed for 11 nights and didn't want to leave! The kitchen had everything we needed as I like to cook at home. Large refrigerator with ice maker and a household filtered water system. Beautifully furnished with tons of room.
You can't beat the location. We walked to most everything in Ajijic or just up to the main road to catch the bus to any of the surrounding towns.
We will be back for another visit next year!
They were just the best!!! The nicest people and great travelers. They can keep coming back until they decide to live here permanently. Debbie helped me get tap shoes on ebay for my tap dancing class and also officially became one of Hadwick's godmothers. I really enjoyed their stay and can not wait to see them again and neither can Hardwick. Georgette
