About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps up to 10

Fox Pines Cabin is a beautiful home located in Kachina Village which is about half way between Munds Park and Flagstaff at exit 333 off I-17. Approx. 1.5 hours from Phoenix and 15 minutes to Flagstaff. Kachina Village has a new park. The park is large with many picnic tables, ramadas, BBQ grills, rock climbing, swings, playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball field, restrooms and walking paths. There are also several areas in Kachina where people just pull off the side of the road and go sledding which cannot be done at Snowbowl. There is also a convenience store with gas pumps, a Subway Restaurant and everything you might need. Over behind the store is forest area where you can ride quads, rhino or just take a drive though the forest for miles. Once you are at the cabin, which is located on a paved road with plenty of parking, you will have easy access to the deck. There is a small ramp from the yard to the walkway which is a fully fenced wrap around deck. The kids love to run around the cabin and they& they have plenty of room to play. The cabin is not too close to neighbors and backs up to a canyon area with lots of trees for a bit of privacy. There are large windows along the rear of the house in the living room, looking out at the trees and canyon area. Sit in front of the gas stove and enjoy the scenery. Go out on the back deck and sit in a chair around the table, there are plenty of chairs and a BBQ grill too. There is a covered porch area at the front door so you could bring a kids swing or hammock and hook it up. There are sliding doors out to the patio from all the bedooms and the living room too. The cabin is light and bright with lots of windows and glass doors. The kitchen, dining area and living room are an open floor plan. The large kitchen table has an extra leaf for seating for 8-10 with extra folding chairs if needed. The master bedroom has a comfortable king sized poster bed. The second bedroom has a full sized bed and a rocking chair. The third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds and an extra mattress under the bed for a total of 5 single beds. The sectional couch in the living room has a hide a bed too. There are 2 bathrooms with tub showers in both and there is also a newer front load washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, blender, mixer, crock pot, griddle and anything else you may need. We leave a roll of paper towels, TP; a few trash bags and some basics. There is a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, extra space heaters. There are plenty of linens and towels. There are minimal supplies to get you started so make sure you bring what you need as far as personal items and food. The water is good out of the faucet and there is a filtering pitcher too. There is a stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and disposal. It is a cozy cabin with all the comforts of home. There is a downstairs storage area that is not included but there is patio area down there. It is a great neighborhood for taking a long walk, finding a sledding area, playing in the park, driving through the forest or going to the convenience store without driving into town. You can be at Snowbowl in less than 30 minutes,& NAU in less than 10 minutes ;major shopping and restaurants in 10 minutes including the mall in about 20 minutes;depending on traffic and road conditions. Take a scenic drive to Sedona from the highway behind Kachina Village and be there in less than 45 minutes depending on how much you stop and enjoy the drive. The Grand Canyon is less than 2 hours away and is a beauty that must be enjoyed. There are lakes for fishing in the area and many other activities to enjoy. So whether you are just hanging out at the cabin with a bbq on the deck, or driving around exploring the area, this is a great location. Please call me with any questions and to secure your reservation. The rate varies depending on the dates, the number of people and number of days. We may allow small pets with an extra deposit. We have a contract that we can send you to review and a deposit is needed to hold the cabin. All rents need to be paid by cashiers check or money order and we will accept credit cards with a 4% service charge added. We look forward to sharing our beautiful cabin with you!

About Carolyn Fox

Owner loves this property and it shows. We have had this cabin since our children were young and we plan on keeping it forever.

Carolyn Fox purchased this house in 1999

Why Carolyn Fox chose Arizona

We maintain this property nicely. It is clean and well taken care of. There is a wrap around deck and a great view of the pine trees. It backs up to a canyon area and is nice and private on the deck.

Lovely stay!

We always enjoy our stay at Fox cabin.

The cabin is very cozy with fantastic views!

The only disappointment was having the big trash can full and not having room to put the trash.

Other than that, we loved our stay!

Well maintained with plenty of room for 2 or a family. The view off the back deck was gorgeous. All the amenities you would need to be comfortable are present. Definitely will be back. Thanks to the host for an amazing time!

Great cabin and location!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin! It was welcoming, clean, and comfortable. The master bed was so comfy and big! We loved wrap around deck. It was a beautiful place to enjoy morning coffee or enjoy the sunset. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies, big griddles for pancakes, a blender, and plenty of cooking utensils. It was also well-stocked with basic cooking spices, sugar, flour, and cooking oil. There was even a box of odds and ends food in the pantry. I wish I would've seen it before we went grocery shopping. The wine was also a nice surprise. We loved the neighborhood and nearby hiking trails. The gas grill was also great. We loved grilling burgers. There were movies, cable and games, which kept us entertained in the evenings. There was also laundry detergent stocked which was a nice surprise. We brought ours with us just in case, but it was nice to know that's available. The cabin was nice, open, and had plenty of room. We loved the gas fireplace. There was plenty of seating on the deck as well as down below for star gazing. We loved this location and it was close to many National Parks and monuments. We loved Walnut Creek, Tuzigroot, V-V Ranch, Wupatki, Sunset Crater Volcano, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona. We will definitely come back when we visit Flagstaff again. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Just a few suggestions for the owner:

-Leave more TP. Four small rolls for up to 10 people is not enough, especially when traveling with children.

-Make sure internet is hooked up and working. We needed to do a little bit of work remotely and it was difficult without internet.

-Have a small, foldable step stool available. We traveled with tiny kids and it would've been nice to have so that the kids could be more independent when using the restroom.

-Having a Pack n Play available would be a great addition for those traveling with small kids.

-Having a Safeway card or other local grocer cards available. Luckily we found a Walmart, but we were surprised how many places required a grocer card to shop.

-Have instructions for the coffee machine. We are newer coffee drinkers and have only used a french press or Keurig. We had no idea what we were doing. Thank heavens for all of the local coffee shops. ;)

Very nice cabin with an excellent view

We had a great time during our stay. The cabin was well maintained, had everything we needed and the view was excellent. Easy to get to Flagstaff, only a 15 minute drive. We fell in love with the place, hoping to return in the future.
