About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

Best location in Summit County. Our 2200 square foot home is located in the Silver Shekel subdivision 2 miles north of Breckenridge on a large quiet lot. This location provides easy access to all of the Summit County ski areas as well as Vail and Beaver Creek. Spectacular Views of the 10 Mile Range can be enjoyed from the family room, dining area, deck and bedrooms.

The upper level of the home features a newly remodeled large kitchen, dining area and family room. The gourmet will feel right at home in our well supplied kitchen with all new appliances. The dining area has a large table and incredible views from the large picture window. The family room has lots of seating, large TV and wood burning fireplace. You can enjoy cocktails or a barbecue on the large deck while taking in the mountain views.

The 2nd level hosts the 3 bedrooms, 2 and a half batrooms and the laundry room. The master suite is very large and has a new king-size bed, a twin daybed, and walk in closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, the third bedroom has twin beds that can be configured as a single king size bed.

Interior stairs provide direct access to the living area from the attached, heated garage on the ground floor. Please make sure that all members of your party are comfortable with stairs since the living areas are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The 2-car garage provides a convenient and secure place to store skis, bikes, golf clubs and other toys. An all wheel drive vehicle is recommended for access to our home in the winter.

There is a separate lock off private apartment on the 1st level which is rented to a couple long term. This unit is very sound proof and has a separate entrance.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for touching base. We had an absolutely amazing time at your house in Breckenridge this past week. Everything was so perfect from the gorgeous perfectly equipped kitchen to the very comfortable and cozy sleeping accommodations! We talked repeatedly about how terrific the house was and how lucky we were that you were nice enough to rent it to us. The wine was the least we could do. Again, thank you so much!

Beautiful home close to the slopes

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property for a 5-day ski vacation with some old friends. The house was well-furnished, clean, and spacious. The recessed lighting above the mantle and step lighting between floors 2-3 were very nice. The grill out back was large and worked great, and there was plenty of firewood stocked for the wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen was well-stocked with spices, flatware, and utensils, and all appliances worked perfectly and looked new. The location is fantastic, it took just about 5 minutes to the Breckenridge parking lots from the driveway. A 4x4 truck is definitely recommended to make it up the driveway after fresh snow. Also, you may not be able to fit in the garage if you drive a large truck and put ski racks on the top. We had less than an inch of clearance with a Ford Expedition and decided to leave the car outside. There is a tenant who lives on the bottom floor, but we never were aware of his presence except for the car outside. The layout of the house has the living and kitchen areas on the top floor and all bedrooms on the bottom floor, which helps isolate noise and keep the house relatively soundproof. The beds were all comfortable and as described, with plenty of blankets and pillows. This place could easily sleep 8 people if you double-up on the large beds and pull out the trundle in the master room. The bedroom with the queen bed gets kind of cold overnight, which may make it difficult to get out from under the covers in the morning, especially if you are getting up early to hit the slopes. The owners were friendly, responsive, and helpful. Overall a fantastic place to stay for a ski trip in Summit County, can't get much better than this place.

Best of Breckenridge!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Breckenridge 2-3 times a year for the past 4 years. We have stayed in a different lodging each time we came. That has come to an end as we have found THE BEST LODGING IN BRECKENRIDGE! Don't bother staying anywhere else. I can't say enough about Silver Sheckel - you have to stay there to believe it.

Warm, comfortable, lovely home

  • 5 of 5

After a very long drive from Texas, arriving at Tom & Gigi's home was wonderful. The house is beautiful (the kitchen made me want to go home and start a remodel project!) and naturally the views are spectacular. We found the house to be pretty conveniently located too. It was no trouble to zip over to Main Street which we did many times. It is so cute, and there are so many places I wanted to look at and eat at...will just have to come back to Breckenridge!

We vacationed with our four kids, ages 7, 9, 16, & 18, and everyone was comfortably accommodated. From being able to do laundry (much appreciated after a day of white water rafting or hiking), a well stocked kitchen with cooking essentials, wifi, satellite TV, the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispensers in the showers that the kids thought were pretty cool, games (my husband taught my son to play dominos while we were there), all the important things are covered and thought of. And the basket of information that they have put together upstairs is awesome! Lots of great info up there!

There is not one bad thing to say about our Breckenridge trip and stay and Tom & Gigi's house, it was truly a pleasure. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and their home!

Truly a home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Our one week stay in this beautiful, completely updated home was as good as it gets. I loved the high quality bedding, and showers (with shampoo, bath gel wall dispensers). The grandchildren loved the supply of games. It was very comforting to know that GiGi and Tom were instantly available by phone, text or email to answer any questions.

Accessible Solitude

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five recently spent eight days of Spring Break vacation at Tom & Gigi’s house in Breckenridge. It was an unqualified success! From the very beginning when planning our visit, they were prompt with answers to all of our questions – even making suggestions for activities around the area that we might not have thought of. This promptness carried over to our stay, with quick and courteous replies to our texts. They are clearly interested in the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. Indeed, after two straight evenings of 9-inch snowfall, the following morning the driveway was cleared of snow and ready to use.

The setup of the house is conducive to rest and relaxation, with the common areas (dining room, kitchen and family room) on the top floor, bedrooms on the middle floor, and garage on the bottom floor. There was more than enough space in the house for our family of five. We basically wanted for nothing – all necessities were readily available, from the fully fitted kitchen, to towels and all paper items. The kitchen was a gourmet’s dream, with an upper and (smaller) lower oven, gas range, and awesome high-end refrigerator. Thoughtful design abounds, from the granite and chrome finishes, to the gentle-close cabinets and drawers.

Of course, we were there for the excellent skiing, and it did not disappoint. But their house provided such a respite of accessible solitude; it’s hard to say which we enjoyed more. Coming back worn-out from the slopes, we greatly enjoyed the relaxation provided by the relatively remote location of their property. It wasn’t until later in the vacation, walking and driving the crowded streets of Breckenridge that we truly appreciated the solitude provided at their house. Sitting by a cozy fire, curled up with a good book or wine, watching the snow fall in absolute silence, we couldn’t have imagined staying anywhere in town – regardless of how “convenient” it may have been. This is not to say that their house is inconvenient – indeed, that is the other half of this review’s title – it provides the perfect balance of accessibility and solitude.

As you can imagine, we cannot suggest a vacation at Tom & Gigi’s house in Breckenridge strongly enough. Just please leave the Spring Break week open for us!

Great Affordable Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed in many vacation rentals in the last 10 years and this is one of the very best. Tom and GIgi have set up a great home with a lot of personal touches. The kitchen specifically had the best set-up of anywhere we had stayed. Everything from the instructions to cleanliness of the house were great. The location was perfect to hit multiple ski resorts during our stay. We would recommend their house to anyone. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
