Waterfront Camp on Sebec Lake Maine

Overview

Property Details

Updated: Sep 19, 2016
House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, Sleeps 7-8

Welcome to Ridge View Cottage!

This cottage has a large covered porch providing outdoor dining and lounging for family and friends. It has both a gas grill and picnic table. Indoors, there is a glassed in porch with a sitting area and a queen sized futon for extra sleeping. The living room is equipped with a TV and DVD player. There is a half bath with laundry on the first floor, along with a kitchen that has been recently renovated and well-stocked. The upstairs has one bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom with a double bed, and one loft area with a twin bed. The upstairs bathroom has also recently been remodeled and a walk-in shower was added. This wonderful vacation home sleeps 6 -8 comfortably.

The view is spectacular: glorious sunrises in the morning, and beautiful sunsets in the evening. Enjoy both from the full length glassed-in porch that faces east to west and out to Sebec Lake. There's also an outside fire-pit for cozy evening fires and outdoor relaxation (wood is not provided). Boats and kayaks are available nearby for rent, as well as hiking trails and public lands.

The water frontage is clear, with a pebble beach area. A dock site is also available for those who choose to bring their own boat. WiFi is also available for those who want to stay connected! (But if you want to 'unplug' for the week - that's fine too!)

Ridge View Cottage sits at the edge of Sebec Lake in the heart of the Maine wilderness. While quiet and rural, you’re never too far from civilization: Dover-Foxcroft is 15 minutes away, and Bangor is an hour’s drive South-East. We’re also close to Gulf Hagas, Mt. Katahdin/Baxter State Park, Borestone Mountain, and Greenville. All the peace and quiet of the Maine woods, with the comforts of home!

We do require that there is no smoking, or pets allowed. Thank you!

Absolutely Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We just left this morning from Sebec Lake, Maine after the most wonderful week. From the warm greeting of Hillary on our day of arrival to the good bye from Joe when we were packing to leave we had such a marvelous time. The cottage is the most comfortable we have ever stayed- and we have stayed at many- and the location by the lake invites rest and relaxation. I cannot imagine anything that would make this experience better. In fact we're already planning our trip for next year! The location is perfect for hiking (we spend 5 days enjoying the incredible beauty that is Maine) and the lake so close by had we been inclined to explore on the water.. An extra benefit is the delightful laughter of the 3 adorable red headed children of Joe and Hillary heard at a distance occasionally.

So if you want to stay in a little piece of heaven on earth, this is the place for you.

Thanks so much Joe and Hillary. We had an absolutely marvelous time!

Wonderfully secluded property on the lake that swept our hearts to want to come again and again.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Sebec lake property. It was clean and had every amenity that one needed to relax and enjoy a family retreat like we did. We kayaked and boated from the secluded little rock beach area at the property. We even celebrated my birthday on the vast porch that had a grill and a lovely scene of the water. The water was so relaxing and the views breath taking. We had Wi-Fi for the kids games at night when it rained. We boated every day and even enjoyed the local beach, coves, and food. It looks like a newly finished property. With any newly finished place has a few glitches (loose towel rack, doorframe, and cupboard knob missing), but these small quirks did not take away from our stay, for the property was beautiful none the same. The owners were straight forward, friendly, and responded quickly to any problems that could arise, but none did. There were easy to follow instructions to get to the property. The property is close by to Bangor, Dover which is handy if needing things from town. The property was very clean, well maintained. I assure you it is worth every penny spent and would recommend this property to friends and family. We have cherished family memories of this vacation that will be with us forever, which is priceless. Thank you, Joe Caruso, for the lovely stay.

Great house beside a great lake.

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and spacious with a nice wrap aound deck. I was thinking that Joe (thw owner) really needs to update his images as the house is way nicer than the photos show. It was well equiped and our family was very comfortable for the whole week. The nice gas grill and two lake kayaks was an added bonus. The lake was wonderful and there was a gravel beach access point which made swimming and puting the boats into the lake real easy. Gulf Hagus is a short ride away and a must see for hikers who love waterfalls. We also took an hour horse back ride at Cedar Winds stable which was fun and different. The week was a wonderful break away. Thank you Joe and Hillary (the owners)!

Idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

All-in-all Joe and Hillary's place is one of the most beautiful vacation properties we have ever been to. The beautiful view from the front porch and the gradual slope into the water are incredible. We kayaked until our arms were no longer co-operative and barbecued until we could eat no more. We spent 3 nights at Ridge View Cottage and it was utterly refreshing. Life in Sebec Village is slow and a visual treat no matter which direction you turn. Joe and Hillary are responsive and helpful hosts. We are very happy with our experience.

A perfect escape from city life

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is incredible. We had a great time drinking coffee on the porch while watching the sunrise over the lake, kayaking with loons and bald eagles, napping in the hammock and hiking all over central Maine. The cottage itself was cozy and came with everything we needed - especially the kitchen, which was better equipped than my own at home. Truly a haven away from the big city, and we can't wait to come back!
