Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter & I absolutely loved our Cabin!

It had every single thing we needed for our 1 week stay, it was simple yet incredibly warm and cozy!

Oh and...The beds were out of this world comfy!!!!

Our first 2 days at cabin, we were pretty socked in by rain and wind, but it didn't matter we turned on the heat, relaxed, painted, read, played scrabble & enjoyed the pretty view from the sunroom/living room area... :)

Mrs. Barbara Shanahan is by far one of the sweetest people, I have ever met in my entire life..

During our stay, she checked in on us and even brought us all kinds of information & literature for us on the area's things to see & do..

There isn't one thing, I would have changed about our stay at Flanders Bay Cabins.. other then that I wish we could have stayed longer! :)

It was an amazing trip for my daughter & I, we are

hoping to make another trip here in the future!

Thank you again Barbara for EVERYTHING!

Much love,

Rochelle & Emily

Owner's Response: We enjoyed having Rochelle & Emily stay at our cabins in our quiet surroundings. They were lovely guests who enjoyed the water views and made the best of a couple rainy days in the cabins. Thank you for staying with us and I look forward to seeing you again! Barbara😀

Place to sleep

  • 3 of 5

We went with 2 kids there was enough room. Beautiful view. The fire pit is a community fire pit. Lack of privacy very close to other cabins.

Peaceful setting with a great view!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is a rustic cabin so know that going on this adventure and you will happy especially with the view! There is running water and electricity. Our cell service was good. There is no microwave or oven so keep that in mind when grocery shopping!

The stand next door has great food and ice cream at great prices! Walking along the water on site and having a fire pit for smores was very enjoyable. The clothes line came in handy for drying towels. We grilled scallops and steaks so the grill worked well. Our bed was very springy and soft compared to our memory foam at home but we got used to it and the kids didnt complain about their bunk bed. There is no A/C and we stayed over the first week in July so by 10 am it was a hot house and that was fine since we were out exploring. We put their box fan in the window as soon as the sun starts setting and the cabin would cool right down. The other cabin guests were friendly. The only thing I wish I had brought was air freshener and maybe a candle.(There is no fan/vent in the bathroom just a window)

Had the pleasure to walk over to the antique store and meander around until I picked my souvineer. We went to Schoodic twice since it was under 30 mins and over to MDI 4 times for full day outings since the drive was about an hour depending where you were going. We walked around Jordan Pond, visited Sand beach(bring a cooler and umbrella), drove up to Cadillac Mountain, hiked the beehive trail(best part of our trip), sunset whale watching and yes we saw a humpback, and enjoyed Bar Harbor on July 4 from the blueberry pancake breakfast, parade, shops, bands, coastal path, and fireworks. We had our 2 sons (age 11 & 19) with us and got to spend time together as a family so in my mind it was a good trip.

Very Clean

  • 4 of 5

Had a wonderful time with my Dog.Close to Acadia National Park where we explored and hiked.Visited harbors with Lobster boats..(fresh Lobster) yum.Explored during the day and relaxed at night with a campfire right on the water.Drank my morning cup of coffee on the edge of the bay with mountains in background very scenic. The cottage is rustic more like camping than a hotel..Had to go next door to connect to wifi/internet,but that was what I was after. The owners are wonderful people that was willing to accomadate.I would definitely come back.
