About Frank Andrews
Martha and I (Martha is a pet name because it is more poetic than Carolyn) grew up together and I walked her to school in 1st grade. I married her in 1959 and we have 3 children. I operate Andrews Appraisal Service with my two sons in Franklin, Tennessee. I am a published poet and am currently writing a book of small stepping stones that I have experienced over the past 76 years. Google me at William Franklin Andrews for additional poetry.
Frank Andrews purchased this House in 1996
Why Frank Andrews chose Charlotte
This 21 acres of paradise was purchased as a company retreat in 1996. The Refuge was constructed a couple years later. We needed a place approximately 1 hour from our home in Franklin and this spot was simply the very best available.
What makes this House unique
' A PATCH OF EARTH' I want a patch of earth to call my own Where birds can sing and children can run free; A spot of ground with trees and sandy loam; A place where Martha can grow old with me. I want to live for me what time remains; Unfettered by the many chains that bind; Nor captive to economy's sad strain; I must be free so I can speak my mind. I've had my fill of chasing earthly dreams. The will of man with all his evil schemes; I'll rest a while on earth while here I stay And trust my God and hope for better days from 'Songs of a Native Son' 2005 chronic discount books.

We rented the Refuge so we could get our family together for Christmas week. Our family traveled from Boston and San Antonio, as well as all around the Clarksville and Nashville area. The house was wonderful and welcoming. Frank and Martha did a great job of decorating the house for the holidays; from a beautiful tree, stockings on the mantle, the dining table set with decorations and even Christmas dishes in the cupboards. We were able to host friends and family for a couple of dinners while there and they even had a high chair for our new grandchild. We felt right at home and enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather basking in the afternoon sun from the back deck overlooking the lake. We were impressed by the house and amenities as the house is definitely a great place for families to gather. There’s even a playground for the kids and we fished from the dock, which also hosted a great blue heron around 10:00 most mornings. I enjoyed the quiet solitude and remoteness for the chance to unwind and enjoy our family time together. We definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a family retreat. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Warm and inviting
We enjoyed every minute of our time at The Refuge. It was incredibly easy to relax, spend time together as a family and unplug from daily life. We hope to visit again.

Usually on vacation we spend all our time on the go, this year we decided it was all about spending quality time, just being together
What a wonderful place to really connect. My dad and I spent time by the lake fishing, My mother in law who is 88..enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the wild life. There was something for everyone! We all agreed it was the most relaxing vacation we have taken. The Cabin was beautiful, well stocked, rustic and charming! Thanks especially to Mr. Andrews, you were very thoughtful and personable! We will be back!

Annual Family Vacation with Our Grown Children
My husband and I take our 3 grown sons and their families on vacation each year. We have 3 sons and 4 grandsons, so we are usually looking for accommodations offering things for outdoorsmen. This was our favorite cabin ever! I read every review prior to booking. They were right! The pictures did not do this cabin justice. There was plenty of room for everyone, with everyone feeling like they had their own space. We had everything that we needed. The cabin was super clean! Our boys and oldest grandson had an absolute blast fishing from the dock, the bank, and the canoe.....and they caught fish!
Mr. Frank was an absolute pleasure to work with! He was so pleasant and helpful! He even took the time to email me directions to the cabin from Memphis, as we were stopping in Memphis for a couple days prior to coming to Nashville.
I highly recommend this property! My entire crew is ready to go back! We have never been to the same place twice, but they all asked if we could make this a yearly tradition. That says a lot!!!!
Thanks so much, Mr. & Mrs. Andrews for sharing your beautiful home! We created a week of wonderful memories there!
What wonderful words to hear. We strive to make the Refuge the place where families renew ties that bind. Please come back soon as you will always be welcome at our place. Thanks for leaving the Refuge in great shape.
Truly a Refuge
This is such a beautiful property. It was exactly as described, comfortable, roomy and well stocked. We swam and fished in the lake and rarely saw anyone around us. We felt like we were so removed from civilization, but only 45 mins from Nashville. My family will return, Lord willing.
