About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, sleeps 8.

This vacation rental is a beautiful European Style house right at the base of the Superstition Mountain. It’s a perfect place to get away from everyday stress and rejuvenate.

The house is a two story house and is about 2400 Square feet.

There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, both bedroom have queen beds and one of the bedroom/office has great views of the Superstition mountain.

Also upstairs is the large living room and kitchen which has a large granite counter top island and stainless steel appliances. The living room/kitchen opens up to the large deck. You can enjoy the beautiful views of the Superstition, Goldfield mountain, and Four peaks from the living room/kitchen, bedroom and deck. There is one full bathroom upstairs.

The downstairs has a large bedroom with a queen bed and large bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom have an open floor plan meaning that there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom. There is a family room downstairs which does have a pull out couch which can be converted to a queen bed. The garage has a Gym which can be used.

You can enjoy great hikes and biking in the Superstition mountains right outside the front door.

The non heated pool is a great refresher in the summer and the heated spa is great in the cold winter months.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hope to stay at your place and see you this summer when we come for another visit; We spent the morning of our last day getting up early to capture pictures of the sun rising over the mountain, swimming and visiting with family...followed by a nice nap and lunch looking out over the beautiful Superstition Mountain. Our stay has been great. Sabine met us upon arrival in the afternoon to let us in and show us around. The location is quiet, comfortable well stocked with all the things you might need to be comfortable. Internet is fast with no problems and the TV has plenty of channels and if you have a Netflix account, your young ones will be well plugged in during the hot afternoons when swimming would not be advised due to heat. Since we come back this way every year to visit family, we will be sure to stay here again if available . Highly recommend!

What an amazing place. Close to everything but far enough away to enjoy the scenery. I would recommend this place to anyone. Waking to the view was incredible. Thank you

Fabulous Time!

  • 5 of 5

We rented out this beautiful home for 3 months (Jan-Mar 2017) and it was fantastic. Breathtaking views and every morning it was different. The owners don't live far away and were always very helpful if anything came up that we needed. If you are looking for a relaxing time with awesome views each day while you are sitting out on the deck - this is the place. I highly recommend it.

Nice location, house needs some work.

  • 3 of 5

First, Sabine is a very accommodating host. We arrived a day early and she let us stay that extra day with the understanding that we would need to clean the house. The house is large enough for a nice family reunion and met our needs in that respect. The upper floor deck off of the living room has a great view of the Superstition mountains as you see in the photos. The house is in a neighborhood near the mountains so you still need to walk or drive a few miles to get to the nearest trail head. The facilities are generally functional but could use a bit of maintenance. The deck is a little shaky and left splinters in bare feet - it could use some shoring up and a good sanding/sealing of the decking. The hot tub was non-functional and badly needed a change of water and filter cleaning - we didn't use it. We also didn't use the pool since the weather was cool. It appeared to be usable but the filter/cleaner system never ran during the week we were there. As we had promised Sabine, we gave the place a thorough cleaning when we arrived and it was fairly obvious that it had been needing a thorough cleaning for some time. Dog food in the deck chair cushions, dishes in the cupboard with food on them, thick dust on all the shelves, oven with many meals worth of burnt on grime were just a few of the surprises we found. It's apparent that cleaning is a low priority since the vacuum is only barely functional and the floor mop no longer holds its pad. But we made due. We left the place was spic and span. If your family is sensitive to perfumes and fragrances like mine is, then you will not want to use the dryer since it is polluted with fabric softener. Also bring all of your own bedding and towels (we did). We were able to use the clothes washer after a few cycles of just bleach. Once we got the place cleaned up, it was quite comfortable and we were able to have an enjoyable Thanksgiving with the family. The oven needs an instruction manual - it is very frustrating to use even after you call Sabine to have her tell you how to work the stove top. Actually, it would be very helpful if Sabine would write up an instruction manual that has stuff like how to run the appliances, how to connect to the wifi, how to work the hot tub, etc. We were lucky that she was reachable by phone when we were there but if she was out of cell range you'd be on your own. Wifi is quite spotty - if you are planning to work from there expect interruptions.

Owner's Response: I wanted to clarify a few points the renter made, so future renters know what to expect when they rent the house. The renters asked me if they can check in one day early. I told them that they could check in one day early but the house would not be cleaned since the cleaning was scheduled to be done the next day. They said they dont mind doing the cleaning and I gave them an extra free day, so of course the house was not cleaned. There is bedding provided for all beds and some extra so I assume they used their own bedding because of their fragrance sensitivities. I made a a big effort to remove all candles, soaps, fragrances, and softener, bought Clear and free laundry detergent and washed all towels and sheets a month before with the fragrance free detergent so there would be no smell in the house. I did not think about that the dryer could be contaminated with softener from previous uses. The pool was working, the self cleaning device runs at night and the Spa was also working but the renter must have turned on the sleep mode where the the spa does not heat up and the a change in setting would have fixed it. Unfortunately the renter never did let me know otherwise I would come and fixed the setting myself and making sure it works.. In the mean time I have come up with instructions for stove and spa, so thank you for that suggestion. The deck is an older deck and once the renters are out I will sand it down and reseal it. The renters now thought the deck is just fine and did not want me to do anything right now. I hope that clarifies some issues for future renters. I am always open for suggestion and I would love for everybody to have the best stay. Communication is the key and unfortunately the renters did not communicate the issues they had while they stayed at the house.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice. We used the pool almost every day of the week we stayed there. Beautiful view from the porch. I would have a cup of coffee there in the morning and a glass of wine at night and look at the play of light over the Superstition Mountains. Kitchen has everything you need. Very close to the attractions on the Apache Trail. The owner is easy to communicate with. She is nearby in case you should have any issues (I did not have any, but it was nice to know there was someone local, if needed). I will rent again when I visit family. Thanks for the great stay.

Amazing view! Amazing house! Amazing host!

  • 5 of 5

We spent part of summer here and enjoyed every second of it! The east part of AJ near the mountain is a wonderful place to be -- you get the spectacular view and far enough from town (about 3 miles) to feel secluded. The house has all the amenities one can ask for and a great floor plan that can work for any situation or group of people. Having the pool to enjoy was definitely a plus along with the option to work out in the garage with weights. Our hosts were amazingly gracious, flexible, and they took care of our every need. We love you, Sabine and Dave! We hope to come back sometime soon!
